    Thanks for the video Steph. I had mine on the water for the first time yesterday and only fell over once trying to get in from the bank. Moved over to a dock next and had much more success. I loved it , it is very agile!!!

    You totally need to put the footrest in. It’s really hard to force the webbing through the kayak material, but once it’s in, it’s there to stay. I almost gave up after the 1st side but glad I didn’t. It’s easy to adjust and makes a huge difference. If you like your other footrest, as you have said you do, you (and/or your mother will love it too.

    This looks perfect for a small apartment space and a small car I’m considering it. Little worried about shallow rivers where the bottom scrapes against rocks.

    Nice video. Glad to see your greyhounds! I have 2 greys as well. Just bought one lake and found your video after seing the oru instructions. You didn't record the disassemble. How was it? On the front side I felt it was really hard to fold it back and I could see multiple fold marks forming. Saw your disassemble of the inlet and it seemed prety easy to fold back. Wondering if mine came with defect already. Will try some times as they offer 30 days return.

    • @smkauthor
      @smkauthor  Год назад

      Disassemble is very straightforward. It's a little stiff at first, but gets easier overtime.

    I got a gently used Lake in the mail yesterday and was hoping for more detail around where/how to fold. At the edge of the screen I can see that the back of your Lake is concave / "swallow -tailed" but mine is not. There's no instruction about folding that piece in particular so my assumption is it should be angled properly from the start...I am wondering if the first person who had it bent it improperly when they tried to set it up. Dang it!

    • @smkauthor
      @smkauthor  7 месяцев назад

      hmm...have you tried watching the assembly video on Oru Kayak's youtube page?

    We've had hard-sided kayaks for years but we recently purchased a camping rig and will not be able to bring those on trips. We're hoping to take advantage of the Labor Day sale and make a purchase.
    I'm wondering how the Lake would paddle in a bit of a headwind or current. Any experience with this and the Lake specifically?
    Thanks for any info.

    • @smkauthor
      @smkauthor  Год назад

      The lake is only for calm water. A little wind is pretty difficult to paddle, but possible, just very slow going. Easy to paddle when you are going with a current.

    On those footrests seem handy. Idk about them on the Bay st however. As i have giant feet and i get feet cramps when using them.
    (Also had the leg cramps but i think part of that is because of the seat which i just recieved my gel seat today so hopefully thats better.)

    Hi! Thanks for the vid. I’m ordering the lake today. The new black edition. So I’m hoping my dog can fit in the lake with me. I’m ordering the lake cause I’m in a small RPod camper and super limited on space. Plus it’s about $300 cheaper. Haha I go kayaking alone sometimes but my 70 lbs gsd loves going with me on my inflatable one. Think I can squeeze him in? I’m worried he won’t fit. He is a smaller German shepherd that’s for sure.

      All kayaks? Or Oru kayaks? It really depends on if you are looking for portability, what your budget is, and what kind of water you will kayak in.

    • @smkauthor
      @smkauthor  2 года назад +2

      I don't think it's thinner, I just think there are less parts to it so there is nothing obstructing the view of the water.
