Glass doors that open when train arives need to be installed. This is ridiculous. If it isn't someone being pushed on the tracks, it's someone falling in.

Yeah they did an in-depth study on the feasibility. Outside of the cost which is high, the doors/barriers won't work for a lot of stations with narrow platforms because there isn't enough Ada clearance to allow a wheelchair to pass. So for that reason, the project was scrapped for the entire system. They will pilot it at a few but that's all

People prone to having seizures should not stand at the edge of the platform. There is nothing wrong with standing near the wall until the train comes.

Usually when there is an incident as the one you describe in your posting the train authority in my area of residence turns the power off and then removes the individual from the tracks. The other passengers just have to wait.

Those tracks are cursed. I'm glad he's ok! My friend use to have those episodes and my best friend died of seizures when I was in high school and I have a cousin that had it! Scary and worked with a wheelchair bound child that have it

If i was a cop i wouldve just stand there and made my partner get him from the track while im standing and helping from the platform, i wouldve milked the department badly

Too many people on these platforms and they keep making the Platforms more narrow with blockades, Happy these NYPD officers did something for once, not to sound mean but many of them abuse their power blocking the doors even when you pay go really hard over $2.90 when you have people getting sexually harassed and odd figures that are quite hostile. I give credit where it’s due and I’m glad they rescued this guy. However, is anyone going to acknowledge the people who helped pull the cop up? He clearly was out of shape and should go through more training to be physically able. He could have put that persons life in more danger and of course himself. I’m not saying this to be mean , I was in the medical field and was demanded and required out of me to be physically fit to perform my duties. NYPD needs to get it Together. Overall a happy ending God bless and be safe and well.
