Thanks a ton for posting this series! I purchased this same Dillon RL550B just today. I have never done reloading before and this entire video series has been excellent! Your explanations as to why you do things a certain way is really helpful. I almost feel like I should send you some money or something!
This is one of the best sets of training videos that I've seen. It's even better & much more complete than a DVD that I paid $10 for when I started reloading a year ago. I just bought a Hornady Lock-N-Load AP Progressive press and this video gives me some real good pointers on progressive reloading and after reloading final cartridge checking. Thank you for your effort in the making of this instructional video.
I was recently loaned (try before you buy) an RL550 from a friend, and have just started loading for my .223. I was pretty sure I was going to get lost in the process, but your videos have been superb, very clear and concise. I seriously doubt I would have any clue about how the setup and operate the press properly if it weren't for your tutorial. I have just loaded up 80 test rounds and can't wait to get loading in bulk. Cheers and many thanks from Oz.
Thank you thank you thank you. Excellent instruction on reloading from beginning to end. My interest in reloding for myself is getting the better of me and will be investing in the Dillon 550.
I've had my 550 for over 20 years and this was actually very helpful. I've forgotten everything concerning what it looked like out of the box. I've actually got a premade .45 that I keep with my dies in case I ever had to recalibrate them. I put the round (that has no primer and I drilled a hole through it to identify it) in the die and dial the stations down to it for my preliminary setting, then check a new round against that setting.
So glad put the series together! I wanted to get into reloading and I feel so much more comfortable about doing this myself after watching this. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to make this!!
One other thing I do when I'm reloading is to check the primer before I check the powder drop. I found with my press that every so often the primer cup can miss feed. Great video. Thank you for posting.
Wow. Thanks so much! I sat and watched the whole series. Much appreciated, especially since I'm looking into buying my first press. I now know 1000% more than I did before. Now to decide between Lee Pro 1000 (cheaper & auto-indexing) or the Dillon RL550B (better quality & less failures apparently). Decisions decisions!
Big help, thanks for putting this out there! I bought a 550B used from a buddy and this was a great cross-reference to Dillon's manual for the 550...which can be a little confusing. Thanks again!
This was great. I am going to get into this next year and it gave me info on what I need so I can put together a complete wish list. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Excellent tutorial! I have been loading several pistol calibers for years with a Dillon Square Deal progressive press. The operation is exactly the same as with the 550B except that the shall carrier automatically indexes when the handle is pulled. I probably will be buying a 550B so that I can load rifle calibers, and you helped me make the decision to buy one. I will be referring my new-to-reloading friends to your tutorial. Thanks!
Thank you very much, with the cost getting so out of hand. I am going to start reloading. You have done a very good job with your videos'. hope to see the follow up ones later on.
Outstanding! I am ready to get back into reloading and progressive looks like the way to go for me now. I never knew what I was missing with my old LEE press. Thanks for the video!
thank you for making! this is the most comprehensive series of videos about reloading on youtube that i've found. i was feeling apprehensive but now i'm about ready to buy equipment
Excellent videos!!! You may have convinced me to go with the 550B. I have watched countless videos on all the various kits from auto. indexing to manual indexing and still had questions and reservations. I was leaning toward the RCBS Pro 2000, and may still get it. But this is a very informative series on reloading in general and I will certainly keep it for future reference!!! Thank you for your efforts!!!
Hey mate, thanks a million for taking the time to make this video. I have just put together my dillon 550b and cant wait to start pressing. Your videos are very informative and I will definitely keep coming back to these videos as I begin my reloading adventures....
Thanks For the info, your video's on the Dillon Press were great!! I'm gonna watch them several times!! Thanks for taking the time to do them, its been a big help.............
Excellent video better than the vhs tape dillon gave me years ago lol sold mine 5 years ago its a great press thinking about getting back into it after watching your video Refreshed my memory lol keep up the good work and thanks
Never done reloading, thinking about getting a set up and was not sure between going single stage or progressive. Still don't know which way I'm gonna go but I'm leaning towards the progressive. Thanks for taking the time to make this video, very informative and very well done. :-)
Outstanding video series. Dillon should burn this onto a CD, ship it with their RL 550B and pay you royalties! Seriously, thank you for taking the time to make this, it is very informative and helpful to those of us that are just getting into reloading.
Very well done, thanks a bunch. Looking into starting to reload with the high ammo prices these days and I really didn't know where to begin. Seems a trip to Barnes and Noble is the first stop for me.
Great videos. I'm waiting on my Dillon reloader to get here by mail and can't wait to set it up. Great educational info for us newbies getting into the reloading world
Great vids, newbie here looking to purchase equipment with lots of questions. You sir, have answered them all!!! Dillon should send you compensation for your hard work in sharing your knowledge. I'll be calling Brian Enos soon to order my Dillon 550!! Thank you much
Superb videos. I have the same loader that I got with the purchase of a SW 357. Just getting set up to use it on .223/5.56 for my AR 15 and Mini 14. Very well put together videos. I learned a lot. Thank you
Another helped viewer here :)) I bought a second-hand DL550 on 45ACP, watched your video series to convert it to 9mm and set it up fully; well done video, thanks!
Hi, this video is nice and easy to understand, I will be looking at it if I have to take my 550b apart, thanx! If I had to complain about something, it's your work bench :P The press is flexing. This can give uneven loads. I would recomend Dillon's Strong Mount, it gives the press a bigger "footprint" for more stability. I use the Strong Mount on a bench plate made of 2 laminated 22mm plates, 1mm asphalt plate and 1mm steel top-plate, all on a 2x4" frame, linked to the basement wall :)
Hi! I'm a 43 yo German with small english understanding. But your explenations are very understandable. Thanks for this video! Greetings from Bavaria, Germany
thank you so much for taking the time to do this. after watching your video's i know this is somthing i can do. by the way you might think about releasing theese as a how to video series your quit good at it.
It is not a dense comment. Many people choose to de-cap their brass before cleaning (tumbling). I have bags olf de-capped and cleaned brass. It is very possible to mistakenly use one of these casings to set up the 550, and if you don't have a used or new primer in the casing, then the powder will obviously fall out, I did not see any mention of this in the video.
Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. I'm just getting back into shooting and can't believe how much ammo has gone up. I was apprehensive about reloading but after watching your vids I'm looking foward to it now...Know anyone selling a good Dillon 550...lol
For pistol, unless you are loading very high power stuff, I'd load it right till it falls apart in the die. I don't count the times I load pistol cases, I just load them till they stop loading properly. Rifle is another matter (as is higher powered pistol loads, 454 casul, 500s&w, etc.) Those I limit to maybe 4-5 loadings, depending on the case.
Again, all of us new reloaders thank you for taking the time to put this together!! Very well done and it has helped me immensely!!
Thanks a ton for posting this series! I purchased this same Dillon RL550B just today. I have never done reloading before and this entire video series has been excellent!

I appreciate that fact that you went out of the way to help others when you received no help initially on your own. Thanks a bunch!

Most oustanding! thanks for putting this together. I am a 1st time reloader and just installed a 550B on my bench this week.
cheers
Excellent teaching style. Clear and concise . Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Very good video series! After looking at all the different loaders and wondering how they worked and which to buy....this realy helps!
Wow. Thanks so much! I sat and watched the whole series. Much appreciated, especially since I'm looking into buying my first press. I now know 1000% more than I did before. Great set of videos man. Very well done. Great camera work, narration, and pacing. Seems professionally done.
Nice job. An instructor once said that a shooter should talk to himself to avoid being lazy at the range. Same for the reloading bench.
Nicely done. Very informative. Thanks for posting it.
Thanks a lot! You're vids are very helpful. And you're a really good instructor. Keep making videos like these. :)
