Same for me, never liked it when I saw it but ended up growing on me and now I own one that I have modded a ton of stuff on to look like a one off! Love it!
Gavin, Kyosho is making white, green and red cages as an option. I can highly recomend watching Mechanics After Dark's Javelin build in white. That's a real stunner! He did it in 2 parts, make sure to watch both of them :-)
Same. I almost bought one off the back of his white cage build. Great quality production on his vids too. Not too keen on the orange of the standard kit.
I had an original javelin, absolutely loved it...sadly I sold it in the mid 90s...basically the same car as an Optima. I was probably 12, I had to mow a lot of lawns (gardens) to get it....
The javelin is awesome! First Kyosho re re I built! Mine started orange but now is black! Enjoy the build! My recommendation is the belt over the chain for a runner.
I have one of these nib as well to build. My first rere but I have original mids and lazers. This is the only rere I have fancied as love the look. I have ordered loads of upgrades for it. Cannot wait to see what Kyosho have up their sleeves but they better produce a lot of them whatever they release.
Kyosho has always blown me away, we all were into Tamiya as kids, but before we seen any Kyosho electrics it was the nitro powered 1/8 scale pipe chassis buggy land jump. That look just reminded you of off road racing.
I have to say, your vids a very informative and enjoyable to watch! Thank you for all your hard work,...... and buying all the $%/÷ I WANT! Let's see a running vid soon!😁
Nice to see a Javelin on your channel Gav. Just make sure you use the front bumper instead of the other "optional" waste of plastic that basically has no use and detracts from the car's appearance.
Gavin, the Optima Turbo came with the belt kit fitted as standard. The Optima & Javelin came only with the chain, as the belt drive kit was an upgrade back in the day. The Optima & Javelin also needed a full bearing set. Hope this helps! Thumbs up!
I still have my original rc 10. It has seen better days but it still runs and drives real well. Kinda helps that i collected a lot of extra parts before they went out of production.
Great buggy, I had the black cage on mine as I wasn't a fan of the orange. If your going to run it don't bother with the steering link on part ot203 as that will snap very quickly. I made my own from a couple of ball cups and threaded rod. Also get some spare countersunk washers ot241 as they are quite brittle and crack on the bolts that hold the bell crank.
Lifted is putting it kindly. Kyosho is cool stuff. Please buy all the boxes for the Kyosho F1 Deagostini nitro. I heard It was a late night info commercial on tv which sold monthly collectors 'magazines' in the red box form of over 100 car parts...right? It wasnt available in the US.
I love my Kyosho more than my Armma and Hobao. They’re temperamental, fragile, hard to find spares for but have got something that makes them special...
Bought myself the same rc kit not long ago, and I have gotten myself a brushless setup for it. My esc is a few milimeters too big, so I am not sure if I will be able to fit the driver in this car. The brushless system is probably a bit overkill in regards to kV, but I will only be running it on 2s lipos. But I will be sure to watch your build to see what electronics you fit into it. By the way, I too love the wheels on this rc kit. Love the form factor of the car as well. To me buggies are supposed to be narrow in the front/middle, and widest at the back. Not so efficient perhaps as more modern buggies, but I do not like the looks of them particularly. My main rc buggy will still be my Traxxxas Bandit, but I wanted a four-wheel driven rc buggy, with "spiked" / knobby tires and a slim body to drive a bit for fun. And thus that kit were bought. :)
That Javelin does look good . And Kyosho cars are high quality cars as well , still got my Scorpio I did buy back in the 80s . By the way . . I think Your better half will be happy about You don´t have to paint that Javelin . If I do recall things right You painting Your cars was on Her top ten hate list . . . ;O) .
Really nice Gavin.. also good to know more of them are available.. It is a good looking thing.. passed me by this one first time around.. sadly!!. One quick point before I go.. Really enjoy watching the un-boxing videos.......But you keep missing one thing.. you don’t sniff the tyres🤣🤣🤣🤣. Don’t know why there is just something about that smell!!!!. Very sad I know🤣🤣
There is one kit I'd love to see a re release of, the Kyosho F-Ten, preferably the electric version (the GT-One body was just so damn nice) but I wouldn't mind either. It's not going to happen because afaik they didn't sell that many back in the day, at least I don't think so judging from how often they pop up for sale. I do really need some tires though and definitely wouldn't complain about a new body :D
Thanks for the good presentation. I don't think these kits are expensive. They came along with all the ball bearings, metal gears and many other metal or aluminium parts. If you upgrade a Tamiya to the same level, I think you will pay more. Mostly the aluminium shocks will blow up the price. Okay Kyosho kits have no motors or ESCs, but who drives the 540 or those limited standard ESCs of Tamiya. These were the scond upgrades after ball bearings.
I wish Kyosho would start making the original tyres. Do I remember wrong or did the original have an aluminium cage? I remember my friend buying and building one back in the eighties... it was pretty.
Great video, You convinced me to pull the trigger on my first Kyosho. Do they use the JIS hardware ? I know absolutely nothing about them, look forward to learning tho..
Vintage buggys. The kind of content I love to see. Never gets old.
The cars may be old, but the content is new!
That's a great looking buggy!
Same for me, never liked it when I saw it but ended up growing on me and now I own one that I have modded a ton of stuff on to look like a one off! Love it!

I came across that one myself and couldn’t agree more, that white Javelin is absolutely beautiful, the stance and colour scheme are bang on point!
I'll check it out!
Same. I almost bought one off the back of his white cage build. Great quality production on his vids too. Not too keen on the orange of the standard kit.
This is the buggy I wanted when i first saw it as a kid!!! It is the coolest looking buggy ever!!!!🤘🤘🤘 Just got on the waiting list!!
Tamiya needs to take some pointers from Kyosho!
What an awesome car so glad you got one of these in
As a child I wanted to have a Javelin but I couldn‘t afford. Two years ago I bought the Rere.
It‘s my favourite runner !
I had an original javelin, absolutely loved it...sadly I sold it in the mid 90s...basically the same car as an Optima. I was probably 12, I had to mow a lot of lawns (gardens) to get it....

Nice Car to Build Big Warning Do Not Overtighten Screws on Gear Box Covers or Orange Plastic Bars as they tend to split which I found out.

What great kit. I bought one as soon as I could in 2017.
I'm glad more of these are coming out, I'm definately purchasing one, I love the look.
very nice cars
Beautiful kit!
Awesome car. Very solid drives handles so well. I built mine with the chain drive and running a 3000kv brushless set up and lipo.
I still have my original rc 10. It has seen better days but it still runs and drives real well. Kinda helps that i collected a lot of extra parts before they went out of production.
Hmm - I'm thinking of getting a vintage buggy to go racing in the Iconic Cup, that's just gone on the list. Lovely.
I know Kyosho have announced their pan car is coming. It would go nicely with your Eclipse.
Nice 👍☺👍~😉😊😊😁😁😃🤩

Thanks. Build videos will be out in the next few days :)

I like my kyosho's ,I've got a few now mostly nitro .wildcat, landjump and kart 10 are some of my favourites 👌

Bought the ReRe Ultima, and that was a pleasure to build. Id love to get an Optima maybe, or Javelin one day. Just need to work on shelf space.

Please could you review the kyosho outlaw rampage pro kit
Nice. I am a fan of the metal caging type chassis from kyosho. although @Gusseisern, i agree
Seen one with the optional white cage which looked a bit more modern, I love this car. Not a lot of space for the brushless esc though.
Sweet but having a few vintage ones myself im waiting on the optima mid and lazer zxr to come out.
same, I would love a Mid and Lazer
Oh man for real!!!!! Any Mid or lazer please!!!!
Kyosho are made so well !
Would love Kyosho to re-release a Lazer zx-r !!!
Wat do you think !!
I have just picked up a well used ZX-r and its on its way to me now. Yes I would love a few rere's from kyosho.
I wish Kyosho would start making the original tyres. Do I remember wrong or did the original have an aluminium cage? I remember my friend buying and building one back in the eighties... it was pretty.
You can get the replica original tyres from MarwanRC. I got some for my Javelin as the re re's are too bulky for my liking.
Great video, You convinced me to pull the trigger on my first Kyosho. Do they use the JIS hardware ? I know absolutely nothing about them, look forward to learning tho..
They use Hex.
Superdupper cool car. Check: Mechanic after hours on youtube. that man build a really beautiful Javalin. Almost a piece of art. Have fun building it!
Sweet! How hard was it to get the Javelin?
You can still find them around but stocks are low in the UK due to shipping issues.
@@RCKickschannel rough estimate on how much it will cost to to get from USA to Britain?
Phwoooahhh
You need to check out this javelin: ruclips.net/video/vPg9Lqb2ynU/видео.html
This guy talks to much get with the viewing
Overpriced japanese Vintage. The shocks are still crappy like back in the days.
Vintage buggys. The kind of content I love to see. Never gets old.
