I’m one of those new player and I agree. I do sometime indeed cap a few of my teammates because I swear they had a rice hat. Also I can’t fly helicopters
oh man the flamethrower the worst weapon in-game, comically bad "but it's useful to clear muh buildings and tunnels" ah yes because if it was useful outside of that it would be tooootally overpowered not mentioning how in tunnel enemies can literally dodge around corners as if you don't spray them for 15 seconds they're only slightly tickled by your flames
This new batch of players actually hasn't been so bad which is surprising. I remember basically every other steam sale was some troll picking machine gun and getting 12 team kills 2 miliseconds into the match. Many of them won't know advanced game mechanics or strats right off the bat but they've been surprisingly cooperative as long as you give them at least some direction in chat and with map marking and such.

Bought this when I first built my pc 4 years ago. Still one of my favorites. RPD is superior against Helicopters is my tip. Couldnt tell how many helis I have cleared out with that thing.

They fixed some things but RS2 is incredibly picky about audio sources primarily. As long as you only use your system default input and output and don't switch audio sources often on your PC it solves most of the issues with RS2.
I dont care about the new players flooding in and use the commander class. Im just happy that its not dying again. Been playing since it came out and I see less and less people play it throughout the years

A few more tips for players considering commanders: South arty strikes have killed me out to 50+ meters so I always tell people in chat to stay clear 60 meters of south faction fire missions. North has killed me 70 meters away so I say stay clear 75 meters. The RPG doing damage through walls is for sure intentional since there's an achievement for getting a kill with a wall shot. Also that tip about North Commander AA really depends on what skill level the south commander is and what gamemode you're playing. For low level saving AA is a safe bet, but that means south commander's napalm is always going to be effective and you'll only reliably kill the spooky, which isn't great since the ac-47 is by far the worst south fire support ability as you can very reliably walk around or even through it sometimes. Low to mid level South Commanders for some reason get into a ritualistic pattern of telegraphing air support by calling recon and making it incredibly obvious that they're about to call a fire mission. Some experienced south commanders don't even use recon cause they know it telegraphs their intentions hard by flying a loud ass plane overhead, so if I notice they're using higher level commander strats sometimes I just pop AA right off the bat since they may just cold turkey napalm as the first used ability. In territories the game is literally only north commander vs south commander, so as north commander as soon as I catch a pattern, I can reliably preemptive AA. It's up to the south commander to realize I'm onto their pattern and maybe break it up to be less predictable. I also count cooldown timers myself for napalm and spooky in my head so I know about when the south commander has an air support ability available. I prefer killing the f4 phantom since it's more effective, so I'll preemptive AA to shoot it down and it's no big deal if the spooky shows up since it kinda sucks anyways, and certain North players like Marlonized can actually shoot down ac-47 with dshk so I don't even need the aa lol. I have HCMT and/or ambush to literally put the entire team around the spooky's zone of fire. In supremacy south commander really isn't that effective but north commander is godlike. Basically you just spam AA every time it's off cooldown to try to make the heli's less effective. The maps are too open to really make south's precision fire support matter so they can only hope to stall an objective capture or maybe catch a tunnel with their fire support, they will almost never get mass casualty kills so saving AA is really useless. North commander just needs to keep aa up, keep hcmt up, and use ambush in offense when north is backed into a corner, or use ambush in defense if the team is doing really well and is pushing the south into their corner and you need to counter a huey breaking through to the back line.
Bought it a few years back to play w some friends that swore it was the shit, have faint memories of dying on and on like a sucker, i don't think that i had a single kill in my first run. Decided it was too hardcore for me, which surprised me, as i enjoy similar shooters in general. Kept it installed on Steam, and fired up again out of the blue a few weeks ago, to play together with lvl 50+ppl on a single semi populated EU server that had a decent ping in my area. Then i read up on a lot of people online, mourning the game as dying and abandoned by the developer. Kept playing and enjoying it more and more, i really like how squad based and skill rewarding it is. Kudos for no leveling rewards except cosmetics. Then all of the sudden, the update comes in and i find my self surrounded by 0's and 1's about as clueless as i was a week ago, i really hope they all dig it as i do, as this game is amazing. Update didn't fixed voip for me though, so if somebody could recommend a discord server to get in touch with the other players, i would be quite thankful. 🙏

Seeing the servers full again is so good, just like the golden times of this game. It would be amazing if they decided to revive the game, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam always had potential to be even better.
There's also radioman in a game called Insurgency. Your only job is to stay close to your CMDR. You can get assist when the fire support kill your enemies.

If only it ran on steamdeck... the steamdeck is so starved on hardcore shooters due to the anti-cheat freaking out, in fact insurgency broke last month due to an update breaking the anti-cheat for steamdeck.

Once I saw the week's discount and saw how cheep RS2V i went IN. Waited an hour for the download, and my only goal for playing this was to BE a radio man. I stuck to my team's command without any care for my other team. I just followed like gum stuck under a boot.
@@Tantwo to be completely honest, after a week of playing I've noticed how lvl 90s are sometimes not the most competent commanders. Most lvl 50s actually play with full regards of how a command should be, staying not so near into the gunfight yet not so far that they can't see where the enemy is.
I have 2 questions? 1 Where do you find this many active servers with this diverse map pool 2 how do you spot people so easily , could it be an issue of low graphics or just one of skill
Keep your screen still, watch for movement, and move the aim point / crosshair to where your eyes are looking - in other words eyes on target not on the point of aim. It's like pulling your aim to a certain point vs. pushing it. This makes a huge difference for many Milsim players, but it applies to any FPS. It helps with spotting and aim a lot. Next is to learn the maps. Most maps have hotspots where enemies will trickle through in this game. Once you notice where these are, you'll know where to position to get the drop on them.
Its extremely easy to spot enemies in this game because every player has this little "glowing" effect which makes it easy to spot even a low exposed enemy at long range, and enemies in bushes. I play on the lowest graphics by the way
1 - not too sure but I avoid servers that have more than 1 round per map and if it has a specific thing in the server name such as resort24/7 2 - Practice, I can spot the tiniest movement but in Squad I'm blind as bat, just have to keep at it and you'll get good in no time, also yes take things slowly and scan the environment, don't look around with your sight but I put the scope center and scan with my eyes in the periphery for movement

I just stumbled on your channel, but if you've been experiencing burnout then taking a few weeks to completely separate from your channel and video games in general can be a big help. Try some light daily exercise, enjoy a new hobby or two, and make sure you get 8 hours of sleep. Wishing you the best. Other than that, good video.
I quit the game when I joined a Megaserver somehow , matchmaking ?, and it opened my steam browser with a redirect. No thanks to that. That said, the game itself is fantastic but I hope Tripwire gets rid of all the sketchy servers. This is like HLL with better sound, map, and weapon design.
So Australian servers are back? I gave up on RS2 a while back after the only servers with players are 180+ ping with unlimited spawn and access to every weapon. It was nice to try all the weapons but everyone would have the RPG and everything would be exploding so it wasn't as fun as it was with standard rules.
Just started playing. Only problem I’m having? My xp resets back to level zero after every round. This is especially painful after a really good match.
Can anyone tell me why my speakers mute when i spawn in a match? The main menu works fine, even the deployment menu once the match loads is audible but as soon as i spawn it mutes :(.

This Pc>Documents\My Games\Rising Storm 2\ROGame\Config delete RO engine and ROgame, it will reset all settings and voip etc, but you will have to redo your settings, make a back up jsut in case.

Learn the J hook landing and also know where trees have no collision and where they do, basically the greatest trick for transport piloting.

Once I saw the week's discount and saw how cheep RS2V i went IN. Waited an hour for the download, and my only goal for playing this was to BE a radio man. I stuck to my team's command without any care for my other team. I just followed like gum stuck under a boot.

@@Tantwo to be completely honest, after a week of playing I've noticed how lvl 90s are sometimes not the most competent commanders. Most lvl 50s actually play with full regards of how a command should be, staying not so near into the gunfight yet not so far that they can't see where the enemy is.

I have 2 questions?
1 Where do you find this many active servers with this diverse map pool
2 how do you spot people so easily , could it be an issue of low graphics or just one of skill
Keep your screen still, watch for movement, and move the aim point / crosshair to where your eyes are looking - in other words eyes on target not on the point of aim. It's like pulling your aim to a certain point vs. pushing it. This makes a huge difference for many Milsim players, but it applies to any FPS. It helps with spotting and aim a lot.
Next is to learn the maps. Most maps have hotspots where enemies will trickle through in this game. Once you notice where these are, you'll know where to position to get the drop on them.
Its extremely easy to spot enemies in this game because every player has this little "glowing" effect which makes it easy to spot even a low exposed enemy at long range, and enemies in bushes. I play on the lowest graphics by the way
1 - not too sure but I avoid servers that have more than 1 round per map and if it has a specific thing in the server name such as resort24/7
2 - Practice, I can spot the tiniest movement but in Squad I'm blind as bat, just have to keep at it and you'll get good in no time, also yes take things slowly and scan the environment, don't look around with your sight but I put the scope center and scan with my eyes in the periphery for movement

hey im a new player and i run into this issue that might be caused by me. but when i stop sometimes my character just permanantly stops there with me only being able to aim my weapon and not move, how do i fix this?

I just stumbled on your channel, but if you've been experiencing burnout then taking a few weeks to completely separate from your channel and video games in general can be a big help. Try some light daily exercise, enjoy a new hobby or two, and make sure you get 8 hours of sleep. Wishing you the best.

I quit the game when I joined a Megaserver somehow , matchmaking ?, and it opened my steam browser with a redirect. No thanks to that. That said, the game itself is fantastic but I hope Tripwire gets rid of all the sketchy servers.
This is like HLL with better sound, map, and weapon design.
use the server browser, there are plenty of different communities, if you're new i suggest sticking to one host where you'll meet people.

So Australian servers are back? I gave up on RS2 a while back after the only servers with players are 180+ ping with unlimited spawn and access to every weapon.
It was nice to try all the weapons but everyone would have the RPG and everything would be exploding so it wasn't as fun as it was with standard rules.
Just started playing. Only problem I’m having? My xp resets back to level zero after every round. This is especially painful after a really good match.

Can anyone tell me why my speakers mute when i spawn in a match? The main menu works fine, even the deployment menu once the match loads is audible but as soon as i spawn it mutes :(.

This Pc>Documents\My Games\Rising Storm 2\ROGame\Config delete RO engine and ROgame, it will reset all settings and voip etc, but you will have to redo your settings, make a back up jsut in case.
