Hi Jason, Thanks for the Quick Start Guide video. I am a beginner and today I bought the Canon R10 camera. Found this video on the right time. I am excited for the next video. I hope it come soon.
Glad it was helpful Atul and the new video covering all the other creative camera modes will be out tomorrow :) Thanks again for the kind comments and all the best, Jay
Just got the R10 today. I unboxed everything, charged the battery, loaded in the memory card, and after taking a few photos on auto, I realized that a video such as yours would be helpful in setting things up right. I have so much to learn. Thank you!!!
This is a great beginner video. I'm stating my photography journey this year in University and this video is exactly what i was looking for to get me started for next week, thanks. (Recently switched courses from graphic design to photography)
Hi Jason, good morning today I have bought a Canon EOS R10 with kit lens 18-45( cost is US Dollar 935. Special thanks to you I set my first setting camera watching your this video. It's very helpful to me as a beginner
Just got my first camera, its an R10 and cant wait to go through your videos. Im a bit ahead cause I was challenged to try manual first and Ive learned so much already but I will try the full auto for an outing I have today with friends and see how it all comes out

Hi Jason , Good morning I'm from Bangladesh and going to buy Canon R10 with RF-S 18-45 lens the day after tomorrow before buying I see your review more and more times. It's really helpful for beginners like me. As beginner if I face any difficulty please help me in the comments.
New user tip: Maybe it was my outlet, but I've found (during initial charge) that the charger wants the battery installed before being plugged into the outlet. I had a flashing orange light the first time I put the battery in which didn't happen when I unplugged everything, waited a minute, and then installed the battery and plugged in the charger after. Hope this helps someone.
You are so easy to learn from. Thanks for this video. My son wants to get started with photography and so we are studying up on different cameras. WE enjoyed your video and are now subscribed to your channel
Hi Mr. Jason, thanks for the video. Yesterday I bought this camera and it was super helpful to set it up initially with your video. One question though, as you explained at 7:40 , your camera has five different modes of video resolution, but mine has only three. Can you please explain why that is? Thanks in advance.
It's because your camera is set-up in PAL mode I would bet. You can change that here: Select: Menu Set-up: Video system "Wrench Icon Page 2" Video System = PAL or NTSC Mine was set to NTSC yours is set to PAL most likely...
@@Jason_Hermann Thanks a lot Mr. Jason. You were right, and now I have all the options after changing into NTSC mode. I would bet no channel is so dedicated towards its subscribers. You've earned a subscriber. Thanks again.
Hello! Appreciate the video. I just had my R10 come in today, but when I go to turn it on, nothing happens. Any solution to that? Battery is fully charged and everything is set up
I'm sorry to hear that and I am not sure honestly. The only thing I can think of is the battery, but you said it's fully charged... You have the on/off toggle switch on the camera and that is it.. I would call Canon tech support, but ultimately I think you will need to send it back for a new unit...
Thanks for video. I got the R10 yesterday for street in night. For 14 months i use the panasonic LX15 for night street photo. Tested both same time seem street last night en see photo and notice the LX15 seem little bit better more clear as the R10. R10 picture seem not sharp. Both camera setup in auto mode. Do i something wrong with the R10?
Hi DJ, you didn't do anything wrong, but you might want to speed up the shutter a little. You can change that under the ISO settings if using P mode on the camera. P is a more powerful full auto mode. Minimum Shutter Speed for ISO Auto - Select a faster option in that menu area. I talk about this more in my beginners guide here: ruclips.net/video/PDBbm2NeqtQ/видео.html
@@anonneymous9949 Pictures are good, but the panasonic LX15 little bit sharper. But i try the advice from Jason. And upload video to show the differ between the LX15 and R10 same location. What be your advice camera night photo?
@@Jason_Hermann Thank you. When try setting and shutterspeed be little faster i think the picture is more sharp. LX15 is very fast shutter in low light. BTW did you notice the accu after several hours be empty?
Hello Master: Please help and give me some advice, The camera I am currently using is Canon EOS R10, The kit lens used with it is (RF-S18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM) My main subject matter is toy photography. The secondary shooting content is street photography or portrait photos. Now I want to buy new lenses, after watching your video, Want to compare between Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM and RF85mm F2 Macro IS STM After making a choice, I would like to ask you to give me some advice on which lens is more suitable for me? Thank you.🙏
Jason thanks for the awesome vid - when I change my Movie rec.size the only option I have is 4k 25.00P - different to you options. Can you advise please
Great question and yes, but you must "extract" the photo from the video file after the fact as you can see here: cam.start.canon/en/C006/manual/html/UG-07_Playback_0060.html
Hello! I am from Brazil, and I have a question for you: does this camera have a very aggressive rolling shutter, recording in 4K and full HD? I watch a lot of videos here on RUclips saying that the rolling shutter is very accentuated and that video recording is of poor quality both in full HD and 4K. And the body material of this camera is plastic, which breaks easily. Please, could you tell me why I would like to buy this camera?
Great video. I'm new and ordered an R10, but I'm not sure anymore if I'm getting the right camera (so many youtube videos pro and con). I'm taking an overseas trip and want to have the right camera for photography and video for architectural structures and portraits indoors and outdoors. Is the R10 the right choice for the job? Or should I be looking at something different. The R10 is within my budget so any recommendations must meet it's price range. Please help. Thank you
This biggest problem with the Canon R10 is lens options Leba in my opinion which has nothing to do with the camera itself... The cameras themselves are awesome and offer slightly different things than Sony in some areas, but in general they are fantastic all around. So with that being said, if you are all good with the two kit lens options which I cover in this video: ruclips.net/video/BV6Xf_EVBS4/видео.html you should be good to go... If you want lots of lenses to chose from, then at this time Sony would be a better way to go I would say. I''m sure Canon will more lenses, but not allowing 3rd party like Sigma and Tamron is really a big mistake in my opinion, because I find it hard to recommend this camera even though it is awesome... I hope that helps, Jay
hello i do have canon R10 when i take some photo after few minutes the camera off by itself i press play back or ok but still no woring till i put off then on then working how can i fix that> thanks
Hello, you need to go into the power saving options. Menu > Wrench Icon Top Row > Page 2 Second Row > Power Saving: cam.start.canon/en/C006/manual/html/UG-09_Set-up_0150.html You can turn off the 10 second screen dimmer and auto power off feature there....
Hi, I have some issues with the camera. The frame rates are slower the 25 fs. Basically when I recorded the images are a bit behind. When I do filming with my Samsung phone the video is in real-time without any issues. Can you tell me please what is it?
So just to be correct, I need a certain SD card for my mirroless than I do for my 6D mark ii? I tried using the same SD card and none of my images are showing up from my mirroless.
Pretty much any SD card should work for photos, but I would recommend a newer V90 class card for video like this one: geni.us/BfubLow I'm not sure why your current SD card is not working for photos...
I've followed your instructions but then the screen says 'Set the lens to the shooting position'. I don't know what to do next. The image is blurry and no matter what button I press, nothing happens...
