Thank you Dr. Oxnam for coming out and educating the public. I am a therapist. I focus getting patient well, and that can only be done through understanding the multiplicity. I find all the talking and explanation of the condition quite frustrating because most people just reach a wall beyond which they cannot grasp the true picture. It is like explaining what it is like living in the Arctic to people living in the Amazon.
I was diagnosed by a va psychiatrist with did in 2014.i was passed on to a psychiatrist who was in the no such thing as DID CAMP .so he was a pharmacy clerk with a PHD.i found out years later the va mental health system had no qualified psychiatrists that TREAT DID.WHEN I ASKED. for a private inpatient facility it was turned down by another psychiatrist who assessed me without ever speaking to me I guess it would affect his anual bonus if he did his job.
I hate it when people say "you split yourself...." I had absolutely nothing to do with my splitting! It's just something that happened organically! I wish this would be cleared up! And/Or people would really think about what they are saying.
Diagnosed in 2014.with Did.complex PTSD schizofective disorder by va psychiatrist unfortunately the va mental health system dose not treat did and they have shown no interest in providing any other options. The last five years has been filled with torment anxiety rage.
@@finsterthecat thank you for asking no I gave up on the Va mental health system where I live it's a disgrace how they treat veterans with mental health issues.
Ranoch369 I am sorry to hear that. I just recently joined a on line support group. It’s not therapy but at least you can reach out facebook.com/groups/powertotheplurals/?ref=share
@@ranoch3696 Hi Ranoch, I saw this comment and another one you posted as a reply to someone else. Are you okay? The VA is notorious for treating veterans with mental disabilities with Tylenol and a hand-wave.
