I've always wondered how alters talk within the body. Being that I'm a highly visual learner, this makes so much more sense than just hearing how it works. If my psychology professors taught like this, I would have had a 4.0 GPA at the end of college. Great work as always Jess, can't wait for the next video 💚
"Have we got" is such a British sentence structure, and it sounded strange hearing it in Jake's voice, like he was reading a script that a different alter wrote. God, that's so i n t e r e s t i n g
Yeah as a New Orleans lady I say “Do they have?” Or “do they got” Meaning my own household They is us? Lol Like my husband might ask “What do you want to drink?” And I will say “do they still got that dairy free chocolate milk?” Meaning me, I, us or we as a family. I now live in the Midwest but never stopped saying they (pronounced day) And my Midwest family and friends say “do we have? May I have?” I don’t have alters I’m not a system. Just noticing some british quirks with the American alter.
I was diagnosed 10 years ago and stopped therapy because it frightened me beyond anything I could comprehend. Here I am… a mom and trying to heal because I refuse to scar and scare my son. Your channel has been the most helpful (beside my dr) and I’m truly and internally grateful. We all are. For all of you. Thank you.
I'm so very glad you are confronting things a step ahead. I don't have did but I understand the feeling of wanting to solve internal issues before it effects my kids. I know it's been q while since you commented this, so how are you doing? Genuinely...
We are a system of 24 currently. And with our therapy we've been trying to come closer together as a system and possibly integrate some, since we want to achieve a functional multiplicity, which we are close to thankfully. Leaving notes for one another and co-fronting or being co-concious has greatly helped us learn about each other and we've become much better at communicating amongst ourselves. Also want to say, we love your videos and your willingness to come out as a system to defeat the tropes that something like hollywood will shove down peoples throat about DID as a whole. Making us all look like monsters and cruel evil people who just want to harm others. It always hurts seeing that.
This is such a great explanation, thanks, can you pls send that back in time to us like 8 years ago? ;) Also you forgot two others: - "I want tea", "well I want water" -> two (or more) blocking each other to the point where the body can't speak until another person steps in to break the tie. Happens to us mainly with sensitive topics in therapy. - "I want strawberry juice" - what? who even likes that - chorus of "not me" - ok who ARE you? - "I don't know but where are we and who are you people?" -> random new person showing up during a decision making process.
Cool video the hijacked voice where you didn't mean to say coffee. I have that alot we call it accidentally hitting the spreaker like the old school type microphone.
Conflicted, this was a common term I heard or ended up using a lot. Me and a past psychiatrist coined the term human embodiment of contradictions as that’s how I felt most of the time, I wanted two contradictory things simultaneously. I now can feel how separate it is. Instead of denying it we have meetings and discussions.
Hi guys! I've been writing a character with DID and wanted to get it right and this channel has been a big help! Plus it's just a lot of fun to watch so thanks for all of that!
Thanks for making this Jess. Co-fonting has always been something the DID community says happens "rarely" or is really just the flux of a switch taking place etc...But for us, what you've described is our constant. "I" although the host, am never ever alone or the only one 'out'. There's always someone out with me or literally mm away from me and who speaks or acts through/with me at any given second even without me knowing they're there sometimes.
All of your videos help so much! My Fiance has DID and these help me to understand the things/situations/processes he goes thru. He's only been aware for little over a year now and still working on communication, so this video truly gives me a perspective into what it's like! Thanks Jess!
Thats great! I never even though about how helpful all of her videos would be to someone in your situation, I've just enjoyed them because they're so interesting and she and the guys are so fun to watch.
me to! im not but maybe a minute into the video and a sorta new subscriber at that and was just thinking it seems like one of the guys pretending to be her. i remember in one of the videos someone saying they pretend to be her sometimes
I usually just say "Oops, brain fart." Brain fog is a common thing, and nearly everyone understands it. Another one is "Got a touch of 3:30itis, it came on early." a common time for tired brain. Thankyou for another educational video. Your cat is a star too. Lol
me: I'm normal, I just have internal monologues that sometimes sound different also me: *relates to all of the examples above* *here late because a therapist I talked to suspects the possibility I could have DID but needs to run more testing and sessions because I can get a diagnosis*
You literally made me cry! I have DID, and I have struggled for years to explain what it is like trying to communicate with my alters, and I have been trying so hard to figure out how to explain it to my fiance (who has autism and tends to want answers and such). Thank you so very much, because now I can show him this and have it explained clearly (and maybe he will stop trying to antagonize certain alters into coming out).
I do realize this Video is from a year ago, however, I am grateful to have found it.. Regardless of how 'late'. This is well presented and well described. Danke. It makes so much sense of what I wasn't sure how to myself. Appreciate what you all do to help against the stigma and to educate. And hey, thank you to your Husband for everything he does to contribute and his rare level of understanding and acceptance (that I hope one day will not be so rare). It's rather impressive though, his connection, understanding and acceptance of you all.. So I felt I should voice that as well. Hope you're staying safe amidst the chaos of this year.
I find this a really accurate and simple way of describing alters communicating in daily life. Thanks for the video!!! We love being able to show these videos to loved ones when our own words aren't enough.
To Jess and the boys I just want to say you guys are all amazing and awesome and I especially want to say thank you for putting out a video like this finally I feel like I have a visual aid to show someone about what goes on in my head and I don't know about anyone else but when it's really noisy and everyone has something to say on a certain day it's really hard to explain so to be able to go to a video like this is really helpful thanks again I am always so excited to see any of your videos and I can't wait for the next one
You explained all of this SO perfectly! Love the examples and visualizations! I'm actually going to show this to Rey's husband and our close friends so they can better understand what daily communication is like for us! - Ayden from the Patchwork System
Ahhhh thank you for this it’s forever confusing questioning who you are, why you choose what you choose and feeling like you have no control! Validating to hear your experiences ~ Sophie, Peach System
That fourth one always seems to be the main way my alters communicate. I didn't think it was really a thing, making me kind of doubt because I'm not always hearing that innermonolog. Thank you so much for this video
This is so interesting i have a feeling i might have did i reaserched it years ago and had denial stuff but now everythings clicking again. Sense then ive become disabled and so much of my symptoms have been deemed as brain fog from meds or exhaustion however seeing the clip when you asked for coffee is like…. Spot on. Ive always wanted to see some kind of visual representation of the thought patterns thank you so much.
This is a wonderfully succinct explanation. You EducaDID real good. 5:46 "I think I'm me, I'm pretty sure I'm me" - This is very relatable. We get muddled as to what's happening on the inside and outside. When we make videos and watch them back we can usually tell who we are. When we don't know who we are we refer to it as Blobular-ness.
Thank you so much for this video!! You made it so easy to understand. I've never seen an example of a DID internal monologue before, this was absolutely brilliant
Wow this was such a creative and effective way of explaining this! I've heard systems say "I can hear ___ saying ___" Or "I can feel ___ is in the mood for __" but I could never understand how hearing an alter is different from just having a normal though so this really clears it up!
I think DID is incredibly fascinating and it is great that you help me and others learn about it and remove the axe murderer feel. Keep up the great work!!
these videos along with the podcast System Speak has really helped me come to terms with having OSDD even though some parts are still struggling to do so. I thank you and your system for all that you do to raise awareness of these disorders ❤️
Thank you so much, this video parallels my experience. I’m a polymultiple (over 100) so my alters pass through constantly however the mechanisms are exactly the same. I have come to call myself ( the me out front) the collective ego. I’m getting pretty good at staying on top of all the constant activity on a daily basis. This video is fantastic!!!
Great video, love the vibe of your educational videos! I’ve also got a little who is mute who moves my hands to sign what they want, so that’s another way of communicating 👍
Hi Jess :) Thank you for the video. I have been watching you guys from the start, I don't have DID but I do have PTSD and mental health awareness and breaking stigma is extremely important to me. Thank you to you and the boys for sharing this channel with us, and though I don't have DID, connecting with you all makes me feel less alone, so thank you so much
This is so informative. I’m very new into the DID world but your videos have been helping me to accept that this bodies brain happens to be extra compartmentalized. Thank you so much.
This is probably the biggest shift for us pre and post diagnosis. We had no idea that our reoccurring stress that we couldn't control how we acted in a stressful situation or our disorientation from being pulled toward lots of different actions at once, was caused by DID. We just called it anxiety. Now, we're getting a sense for which things we need to communicate about ahead of time so that we're all on the same page, instead of each acting based on what we individually think is the right thing to do. It cuts way way down on the stress.
this was such a great video, and really has helped me differentiate when someone else might be co-fronting vs. be co-conscious! thanks !!!! -peter, the marvelous system
Thanks for making these videos, again, MultiplicityAndMe. I've been through quite a lot lately and have a very confusing time when it comes to identifying who's actually fronting (Some new alters entered the system, some old ones developed and my internal world is going through quite a change.) I am happy to see this, because I have a permanent discussion going on. When I had a calmer, less stressful time, my decisions were quite easy, because me and my most upfront alters were on the same page, but now that I have new personalities entering, it's quite some work for my brain. I can basically feel them discussing and it can get a little exhausting over time. But it's also...fun sometimes. We had the weirdest outcomes sometimes, and it's quite a thing living alone with DID. But we're managing. All the best - The White Room System
Maybe you could do a video on ways you handle the dissociation and switching in places that are "unsafe"? For example, feeling dissociated or switching while at work or the grocery store, where it isn't a place you can just say "I'm sorry, I have DID, I need a moment" (god, I wish it were that easy!)
I've only just found this channel and I find it so educational! I would love to know more about the 'inner world' as I don't quite understand how it works
Since looking into DID and bingeing different stuff about it, i couldnt help the thought of it kind of being a type of super power, sorry dont mean to offend if thats not how you view it. Thanks for helping us people without DID understand it better!
This demonstration was really cool, learning how alters can communicate/influence the body in passive ways was really interesting. Thank you for teaching me about this Jess :)
This was so well thought out, Jess! I think you did a lovely job making this much more understood for those of us who do not have DID. I just find the brain fascinating and having cPTSD, how the brain learns to cope with trauma is a very interesting topic. Having found you nearly a year ago, I have since started working on a young adult fantasy novel to hopefully help with stigmas surrounding mental illness and have been doing research and developing a character who has DID! Having sources like yourself, Entropy and many of the other DID youtubers has been a wonderful play to get more first hand experience to make sure I do justice to this character I am writing.
Hi. I know this is an old video, but it was really helpful. A friend who has OSDD recommended me this channel because I may also have OSDD. It’s difficult to say if I do but still it’s very helpful and informative. Especially since that friend has OSDD and I really want to understand them. So thank you.
with my alters, my little causes me to feel the need to giggle or laugh that is how I know she is wanting to front...craving certain foods can tell me who is wanting what...like she said in the video. I will have thoughts that are not "me", the host. So I am learning about my 8 alters, all girls, and all completely different from eachother...my partner is doing a youtube series on "living with a person who has did" whats it like, the pros and cons, etc...in America, DID is kinda poopooed and referred to mostly as PTSD. It is very hard for DID sufferers to find a competent therapist who believes in DID. I appreciate your videos so much, and I am now also following the doctor at the CTAD clinic. Thank you for helping me in understanding more about my own system.
I know you've said that usually around strangers the boys always act as "Jess" but did you in some case (besides videos) act like one of the boys? Maybe just cuz a friend was expecting to hang out with Jake but he wasn't in control
Awesome video guys. I love the fact that you're raising awareness of your disorder. I had always been intrested in dissociated identity disorder and learning from somebody who has it is so amazing. You have so much information and I just love watching you guys. Every single one of you have such a great personality and us are just so much fun to watch. I'm learning but it's exciting. It was great to hear from Jake. I love him. He is so funny. He melts my heart. Are there going to be anymore cooking with Ed videos? I love that. It's great seeing Ed getting more comfortable on camera. Sorry I dont normally comment so I have a lot to say. I'm done now sorry.
Another great video, Jess!! Thank you so much for posting. As a person without this disorder, I am very interested in learning about it and these videos are so far the best i have seen! Thank you again! :)
Thank you so much for answering this! I am always so curious about those internal communications. I don’t have DID but I think your videos are incredible and so educational. Thank you for being so honest and open!!!
In the comic book V for Vendetta he was given a serum that gave him alternate personality disorder, but one alter and he was given super human strength and intelligence the comic came out in the 1980s and want your opinion in my theory that V is one of the oldest interpretations of MPD, thoughts?
It's nice to hear another system that has trouble sometimes knowing who is in control. For us it happens quite a lot where we all are like "alright i'm up but who am I?" it happens especially with co fronting for us. ~Cecil (jupiter system)
I just recently found out I have DID and this is so spot on. For years I thought I was just crazy, but it's so nice to finally understand what's happening. Me and my alters are starting to get to know each other too. It's kind of awesome and overwhelming. Sounds silly I know ^-^
I just wanted you all to know that you have inspired me and my alters to make our own channel on our experiences with DID! We love and respect you all!
Omg I drive husband MAD ordering food and drink! We're just working ourselves out inside and he is stuck out there guessing and here I am saying "wine... Beer.... No... I don't want a drink... Wait yes I... Do I? I don't know!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thank you this helps us a lot Jess, it helped with our confusion even though we sorta knew it was going on. Thank you so much for this video !☺💚 - Willow
This one's not an internal communication question, but rather a communication with your pets question! Do your fur babies recognize everyone in your system as distinct people and have unique relationships with them, or do they seem to only recognize the body? (Your dog is ADORABLE by the way - so fluffy I'm gonna die!)
"I don't know why I said coffee..." RELATABLE
George Robins Although I personally find coffee so addictive it probably spoke for itself. Lol
similar thing happened while i was a starbucks today, dont like hot coffee yet i ordered a vanilla cappuccino :////
I don’t have DID but I find all of your videos fascinating and I love learning about it and I just find your videos overall enjoyable :)

Yeah as a New Orleans lady I say
“Do they have?”
Or “do they got”
Meaning my own household
They is us?
Lol
Like my husband might ask
“What do you want to drink?”
And I will say “do they still got that dairy free chocolate milk?”
Meaning me, I, us or we as a family.
I now live in the Midwest but never stopped saying they (pronounced day)
And my Midwest family and friends say “do we have? May I have?”
I don’t have alters I’m not a system. Just noticing some british quirks with the American alter.

This is exactly the kind of videos we've been looking for! Having examples to share with folks would make it so much easier to talk about.
Since Jake is an actor and we’ve seen him act as Jess. I’d love to see him try to act like the other alters and maybe even Gaz!
This is such a great explanation, thanks, can you pls send that back in time to us like 8 years ago? ;)
Also you forgot two others:
- "I want tea", "well I want water" -> two (or more) blocking each other to the point where the body can't speak until another person steps in to break the tie. Happens to us mainly with sensitive topics in therapy.
- "I want strawberry juice" - what? who even likes that - chorus of "not me" - ok who ARE you? - "I don't know but where are we and who are you people?" -> random new person showing up during a decision making process.
Phillie Monara the last one😂 ‘where are we and who are you’ 😂😂😂😂
As someone who got diagnosed with OSDD last month this is very helpful. Communication is such a struggle for us right how hoping to improve it.
Cool video the hijacked voice where you didn't mean to say coffee. I have that alot we call it accidentally hitting the spreaker like the old school type microphone.
That's a perfect thing to call it.

Great video. Love the way you presented it.. As always, educational as well as entertaining. 😊
Love you guys! ❤️❤️
As a person without D.I.D, this is incredibly informative.
Thank you!
sounded like Jamie was cofronting in this video, i kept hearing little things that sounded like his accent
Yeah, either Jamie or Jake. :)

Yessss I love this video! As a new system myself communication is weird
This demonstration was really cool, learning how alters can communicate/influence the body in passive ways was really interesting. Thank you for teaching me about this Jess :)
This was very well thought out and done! I learned so much....🙌👍
This was so well thought out, Jess!
Oh god no I’d just show up like 😭 sorry to disappoint
I’d be rubbish at being the boys 😂
Super interesting. Gaz seemed to be having fun filming.
Another great video, Jess!! Thank you so much for posting. As a person without this disorder, I am very interested in learning about it and these videos are so far the best i have seen! Thank you again! :)
Thank you for the lovely video! It was entertaining and educational to me. I love your videos! ❤
Thank you so much for answering this! I am always so curious about those internal communications. I don’t have DID but I think your videos are incredible and so educational. Thank you for being so honest and open!!!
This is so well explained wow thank you so much!
This is both relatable (the coffee part xD) and well explained ^^
Thank you very much helping us giving tips for explaining ourselves

In the comic book V for Vendetta he was given a serum that gave him alternate personality disorder, but one alter and he was given super human strength and intelligence the comic came out in the 1980s and want your opinion in my theory that V is one of the oldest interpretations of MPD, thoughts?
One of the oldest was reported back in the 1500’s
@@MultiplicityAndMe okay first off love you guys second I ment in books and movies and third Ed is my guy
This explains a LOT. Thank you!
I love how you did this video! I mean, I love ALL of your videos, but, this one was super interesting and informative! Thank you!
So well explained… how I feel.
It's nice to hear another system that has trouble sometimes knowing who is in control. For us it happens quite a lot where we all are like "alright i'm up but who am I?" it happens especially with co fronting for us. ~Cecil (jupiter system)
Educational as always! Much love to you Jess, and to the boys! ♥️
Do I? I don't know!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
So perfectly explained what i am going through 😊
Thank you this helps us a lot Jess, it helped with our confusion even though we sorta knew it was going on.
Another super great video - thank you so much for the videos you make, the things you share to help educate and inform, and just everything.
This is really helpful and validating for us. Thank you for your insights!
Such a good explainer. Thanks so much for the vid.
This was so interesting! Loved the example skit! 😊😊
Hi, I’m a new system who’s trying to learn about it. Your videos are so helpful, so thanks!
Really awesome video! The clips really helped me to understand what's going on!
