I never saw Gerry Adams so flustered in my life as he was on TV on Sunday night. The poor guy was overwhelmed by the turnout and support for the homecoming parade.

I know that I do not understand what's happening in Ireland with the political unrest amongst the people of Eire, but I can tell you what is going on across the pond. For one, you do not see this kind of homecoming greeting to the troops who have done their tour of duty. All Irish folks should be very proud. The USA is falling apart in just about all areas, ie morality, economics , and lastly, politics. Don't let Ireland become what we have become here in the USA. Unite and prosper!

This is an Irish Battalion and proudly part of the United British and Irish and 30 other nations at least who are maintaining something of freedom of speech in the Western nations.

jstmcak, I live in the United States of America, have so for 62 years, how about yourself. I have served my country for over 30 years and have been decorated many, many times for distinguished service. I never count my country out my friend......however, that does not discount the fact that our country has had a downslide in moral, economics, and social ideals in the past 50 years. In 1962, I believe it was, Soviet Premier Khruschev said " We will bury you and never fire a short." Think.

...but the Irish and British are in there helping the Haitians too. It's called a humanitarian effort. Well done to all and thank God for America as well. It always interests me in how many Arab nations are NOT in helping!

This comment is just to set the record straight. My comment about a united Ireland had nothing to do with the British occupying force in Ireland. Give Ireland back to the Irish. What I was commenting on is the fact the the Irish people should all unite as one Irish nation, maintain your high standards, work as a nation for the betterment of Ireland. Again, Britain has not business being in Ireland at all, in my opinion.

Obviously you don't understand there is a divide you may not understand but that's like me calling you a Canadian may not seem like much to you but I'm sure you seen the news over the last 30 +years the point is the British army is a occupying force in Ireland & has been for 400 years & that's coming from a protestant living in Northern Ireland Thats why it will never be excepted that a British battalion etc will ever be allowed or condoned to march on any streets in IRELAND...

Never be accepted? You’re literally watching a video of thousands of people cheering and waving flags in support. Funny way of not accepting it 🤣 Clearly they have the support of the decent people of Northern Ireland and rightly so. Heroes!

im not saying i agree with the war!
but the people who have to fight in it are brave!
and what the hell are you on about dropping bombs from a mile up?

Setanta I think I've already mentioned I despise the IRA...
Ask yourself this: why, despite this muderous bombing campaign, which has claimed the lives of many "women and children" as you rightfully point out, do nationalists in n.i. still have the support and sympathy of most of the world on this issue, while unioinists only have the support of some right-wing army men, the BNP and a few english football hooligans??
