IDK man, i'd be keen to drill some dyna bolts in those posts for piece of mind! Very nice hoist!
I’m with u I’d be bolting to ground ,when he first pushed it with the car on half way up it was wobbly
100% dynabolt that hoist down for peace of mind 💯 Love this shed its so fkn pimp! Just needs some big Iron Empire signage around it 😎
100%
I have the same lift, no need to bolt down, designed to be free standing and rock solid with a car on it. Safety wise the four post lift spreads the weight at the four corners of the car, Australian Standards certified also.
I know, but freak accidents can happen. Mainly on the 2 post lifts, but still, each to their own!
Everyman's dream to have a hoist in the shed, kicking goals
I would go further and say wet dream 🤣🤣. Best I have is a quickjack.
Mark, I put one of these in 6 months ago, but got a professional installer to do it (because I am old). I hadn't planned to bolt my legs down, but as I was never going to have to move it, I opted to get the bloke to bolt it down. He levelled and squared it with a laser, shimmed each bolt hole and the difference in stability was astounding. Once you have settled on your preferred location, consider securing it. If you want to move it, it is simply a matter of buzzing off 16 nuts.
I've been waiting for you to get a hoist for your shed and now you have one.
You little beauty!
🙌🏼
Dream shed. Perhaps even dream house 👌
Saturday mornings are my favourite because of the iron empire 🤙
Thanks mate
Appreciate it
The hoist will make working on projects so much easier, well done. 👍
Bloody oath
Question: have you used dynabolts to secure the legs? I’ve seen a few of these spread eagle themselves with cars at full lift when not bolted down
I was thinking to buy the same hoist, haven't been able to find a big enough umbrella to cover it in case of rain🤠
That's a friggin ripper Mark!! Your back will thank you in years to come 👍🍻
It already is hahaha
Looks great but safety comes first dude. Once you find your sweet spot for the hoist...bolt it down. You also made that insulation look easy 😜💪👍
Awesome video Mark. Great job putting it together, thanks for the Tufflift wrap !! - Chris @ Tufflift Hoists Australia
Thanks Chris, I’m so happy with the outcome mate.. I hope some of my viewers follow suit! 💪🏼
i have the same hoist with the jack as you mark bought it about 3 years ago its the best thing i have ever bought you will love it i have had no problems with it at all i am so glad i went with a 4 post over a 2 post like you i spent months researching . Tuff Lift were great to deal with i live in tassie and it was delivered in a week great customer service i highly recommend Tuff Lift
Mate I’ve been thinking about the same lift for my shed
Live in Tassie too and have been concerned about getting a lift to here Sounds like no issue
@@michaelharrison500 No it was easy as only thing is you are responsible to unload it off the truck i had my mates tractor here to lift it off
@@GRIFF351 they do fit on a car trailer if you have to pick it up at the depot like i did. No forklift at home
@@michaelturner9635 Yeah mate that is another option
Nice work guys! As you can see, it slid off the truck quite easily. Otherwise an engine lift will make light work of the unload!
Give Tufflift a call mate, let them know you seen the video I’m sure they’ll give you some great info and help you choose the best option for you!
Good luck with it
🙌🏼
That's so cool 😎
I've wanted one for so long.
I've seen my mates have put a mirror up the front of them to help guide you on. Even fixed to the back of a roller tool box, it's also handy for doing a light check.
Nice man, good idea! Cheers
Got the same hoist and jacking beam. It’s a game changer for sure. Mine isn’t bolted down either. Wheel it outside for doing filthy work. Solid as a rock 👌🏻
Wild man, great feedback!
Congratulations Mark, you and Andy make an awesome couple. You both have been knocking out your projects!
Thanks mate, much appreciated!
Please bolt it to the floor, I have the same hoist, I know they say you don't need to but all hoist installers will recommend that you bolt it to the floor.
I'm in Brisbane but next time I'm in SA which will probably be never i will drop in and borrow that hoist ! Great stuff Mark, the shed is really becoming a proper mechanical work shop.
Haha cheers mate
Been following your channel pretty much since the beginning, This is massive news!!
Really happy for you Mark, this hoist is going to help make even better content for the Empire channel!!
Thanks for the support Glenn!
Slightly jealous Mark
I added a 4 post hoist to my shed a few years ago and it appears the grease nipples that screw in on each post where the pulleys are , are missing on yours, unless you put them in after the video. The other item thats worth adding is a piece of angle iron to protect where the hydraulic line goes through the side of the rail. It protects the hydraulic connection in the event you drive off the edge. Good job on the instal. Only other tips is balance the pads in the centre with the engine crane and use wheel dolleys under the ends to move the as delivered unit around.
Congrats - when you get a hoist you've "made it". A mate had a tuff lift 4 poster in a business and it was a constant source of frustration and failure with stretching cables and alignment going out of whack. Just keep a close eye on it. If you can get a height limit bar/switch I'd add that in rather than hitting the shed roof.
I ended up getting a second hand Rav 2 poster clear floor for about $1500. It's a beast. Because it's screw driven there's no locks clacking away and you can dial it to the perfect height. Had to go 2 post due to the location and needing to drive a forklift through there.
The Rav manual specified Hilti dyna bolts and those were a couple of hundred plus another hundred for the concrete drill bit. The 3 phase cable and plug was about $300 to make up.
Definitely the best investment I've made. Weekends are more productive as jobs get smashed out way quicker.
I’m not angry or disappointed….. just jealous 😁😁😁😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
😂
Cheers for the tips and tricks.. Finished my lift today 13/10/23. Awesome product!!!
Some serious shed envy - great work, enjoy 😉 👍
😂 cheers mate
Nice work man, love the YZ in the background.
Buy it 😋
Oh man that wobble is still a bit scary haha
YZ there looks awesome!
Looks great Mark. I was excited with you guys 😆 Great team effort. Even Judge looked keen 😆
Haha thanks man! 🐶
Great hoists, I have 2 tuff lift 2 post hoists .had the company install them for piece of mind . Yes definitely recommend them
Awesome work Mark! You’re giving me some inspo to get my shed finally finished and get the hoist sorted.
Fuck oath mate!
Have a chat to Martin at Tufflift when you’re getting close, great to deal!
Definitely one of the best things i did in my shed i found a 2 post was my opinion i do like the 4 post its just the room it takes up
Sick new addition! Seems crazy it doesn't need to be bolted down, but you were giving it a good nudge and it wasn't going anywhere. Good attachments too.
If it was me, I'd still be bolting that sucker to the floor!
Blew my mind too! But seems that’s the go with these things hey.. who am I to argue, I ain’t no engineer haha
Fantastic!! things are on the up and up.....🤣
🤪🙌🏼
Nice addition 👍 I’d be bolting it to the ground makes me nervous seeing you stand under it 😂
Live fast, Die young 🤪
Having a hoist is a massive win, you will be kicking yourself for not getting your old hoist out of storage and into use for all these years!
I've only got a 2 poster, but I love it. Can't live without it these days!
100%
Awesome. I'm grabbing one soon - can I ask why 4 post and not 2 post? I ask because 2 post has much less in the way... cheers!
Hey mate, good question! I thought about this for aaaages… I spoke to my engine builder who I trust the most, he advices the 4 post is the way he’s gone lately and he’s been loving it. Not a lot you can’t do on a 4 post, with a Jack but it’s always a trade off regardless.
I didn’t want the hassle to setting up a 2 post each time ya wanna lift a car, plus 4 post is very handy to the parking space.
I was also concerned about the spare the 4 post would take, but too be honest I’m pretty happy with how compact it actually is…
Either way mate, I’d suggest giving Martin a call at Tufflift. Great to deal with and can help guide you the best way possible!
Good luck
Loving the shed progress Mark, awesome to see you achieving your goals, the hoist looks good, but please bolt it down if you're going to be standing under it or wrenching on vehicles on it causing it to wobble.
great addition to the shed... well done !!
🙌🏼
That’s awesome . Like others said, I’d still be bolting it down once it’s in the right spot for some peace of mind.
I wonder if it would be better more central between the front and rear roller doors, that way the cars aren’t getting the double whammy of step up into the shed then the ramp onto the hoist all at once. Bit more roof height too.
Well done dude. I have three of those hoists in my my shed. They are fantastic!!
I had a great hookup ;) thanks man
Yes about time
Totally haha
A forklift might be a valuable tool to be added to the shed
u missed the last step bolting it to the floor
Love my 2 poster. Best tool ever
🙌🏼
Nice one bro u deserve it. Ive been waiting with u for so long to get this stoked u finaly did it. Also u and the misses make a great team on both channels. U guys are killing it.
Thanks mate! I think we make a great team too! Cheers
Awesome. Might have to look into one.
100% give them a call mate, ask for Martin… very helpful
Well done man good stuff it's gonna make life so much easier with that hoist u deserve it
Cheers Adam
So Jealous mark!!! Would love to put a hoist in my shed eventually 👍
Keep chipping away mate!
Hey mark, have you got a eBay link or deets on the up lights you installed. Awesome build, just starting mine. Can’t wait.
Just what you need 👍👍
🙌🏼
Good one Mark, too old to be groveling on ya guts 👍👍
Agreed
Certainly suss when U saw you lift car without it being bolted to the ground hahah. I couldnt trust it, even if it is meant to be semi-portable. Great investment / inclusion to a shed!
Have hoist now, bring on all the future projects, more eps more fun and always learning something from your channel. Best wishes to you and Andy for Xmas..( and Judge too of course! ). May the new year bring you all the more success with the Iron Empire. Take care guys and stay safe!!
Thanks mate, really appreciate the support! 🙌🏼
Nice work Mark
My brother asked if it was bolted down or it had the castors to move it around
You can bolt it down if desired but it also comes with a castor kit so it can be moved also
Love this channel ❤️
Thanks legend
It's amazing how affordable a hoist is these days
Well worth it I too!
its incredable how creative you can get when you want something done, grat job ,just wondering how much you paid for the hoist
Exactly! Haha
These 4 post hoists are around $4000ish mate
Congrats with both your channels . I enjoy both.
What happened to that beautiful Maroon F truck you purchased?
Keep up the awesome content you both presenting.
Chris Hawkins
Hey mate, I sold that some time ago.. I loved that truck, but I got good money for it
Good vid mark 👍👌i wish i could fit a hoist in my garage
Maybe worth making a roof alteration
@@TheIronEmpire i like your thinking 👌
PLEASE bolt it down!! Have seen first hand when they buckle from not being bolted... it aint pretty.
I’m jealous
🙂
Nice work mate. Glad I'm not the only one that made use of my engine crane to put mine together! Were you always going Tuff lift or did you consider/compare to Joels?
Who needs a block and tackle when you have Andie?
💪🏼
I may have missed it but how high is your shed. At the highest mine is - 3.6 but tapers down to around 3.3M. I was also thinking about doing as you have done
Mate, that would be sweet!
Mine 3.7 at its highest, but I can still lift mine completely with the bonnet up!
Give Tufflift a call to discuss some options mate, they were great to speak too! Ask for Martin
Mark is that the TL3.6PH-S ?
How kool is that 👌
Very happy
Do you have a solid slab there or a Styrofoam filled one?
I did watch ya shed vid but what height is your shed again. Just wondering if I could fit one in mine
My walls are 3m and the pithy in the middle is 3.7m
I can just put the car the while way up, even with the bonnet up
I suggest calling Tufflift and discussing your options mate, they were great to deal with!
@@TheIronEmpire thank mate
I might have missed it but what model lift is this?
It’s the 3.4 ton standard lift.. the smallest one available, but should be perfect for the sort of cars I work on!
Looking to get one yourself?
Thanks for replying! Yep I'm looking at getting one. Every service I say I should get one, its about time I did.
Good idea mate! Give Martin a call at Tufflift and have a chat about ya options!
Good luck
Good work Mark
Do you think cross bracing will make it
better? So it will not move at all
Awesome bro ❤❤
Nice xf❤
Your video is very nice!! This content needs "promosm".
