Robotnik is the *worst* incarnation of the character, lol. The crucial part of the overall mix that makes Eggman work is that he's always able to engage in battle with the hedgehog by himself, and actually constructs his machines and works toward the establishment of his by himself. By contrast, Robotnik just sits on his ass, bossing his nephew around, and instead of constructing his labor force, he stole someone else's technology to build it. Eggman is supposed to be sinister and funny at the same time. Robotnik leans too hard into the first part, creating a dull cardboard that doesn't deserve to be called Robotnik.
I'd genuinely love to see this version of eggman in a game, a complete maniac who will go to levels that can even endanger his own life with no redeemable qualities and needs no help. He can still be a bit goofy but he is legitimately scary at points. The closest we got to this version is in adventure 2, and they did the "Goofy every now and then" thing well.

Jim Cummings is awesome as Dr Ivo Robotnik in this version of Sonic the Hedgehog.
Considering he has also played as Duckwing Duck, Whinnie the Pooh, Tigger as well as the laughing hyena Ed from the Lion King to the final few moments of Scar's singing voice in Be Prepared to the singing voice of Rasputin in Anastasia during the song In the Dark of the Night.
I also remember that he was also the voice of Shredder in the 1980s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well as Kaa in The Jungle Book 2 and in contrast he has also played as Bonkers.
He has played both the hero and villain roles so well in his voices as well as comical characters too.
this robotnik is so badass this one is my favorite incarnation of dr robotnik
And one of the most intimidating characters I know.
A great blueprint to one of the villains I have in the works.
@@noisemarine561 What's so cool is that Robotnik has Sonic exe's eyes XD.
@@miroslavzima8856
And he's voiced by the famous Jim Cummings too.
@@bw8362
Boy Eggman in the new Sonic would not want to be near this version of him even Modern Sonic they would both be huddled together shaking in fear like babies XD
Jim Cummings makes robotnik such a scary ass villain
Robotnik is badass for once :D
In the comics even Eggman is devious and badass but frighteningly terrifying with how quickly he would just kill you right there and now no matter who you are
Deen Bristow's Eggman was pretty terrifying too
Okay…I actually have to watch this now. Robotnik is menacing and even intimidating at point dear lord-
This was and still is the best STH cartoon made.
@@TheKrensada Absolutely agree! Rewatched it earlier this year and really enjoyed it, I wish more shows were like it, especially Sonic. X was good but it felt too childish most of the time.
Half the time it sounds like he's getting off or something.
Someone giving him a special favor under the desk, most likely...
When you love what you do, you never work a day.
Robotnik: Send me your surveillance tapes, *NOW!*
Snively (mocking): Send me your surveillance tapes, *NOW!*
The SatAM Robotnik was the first time he was truly menacing.
I don't think it was satAM, but this cartoon series
@@HeyItsAmber99 This is Satam.
And the last time.
@@chrisrj9871 excluding the comics
But fleetway is the most evil
Still a badass evil voice
Imagine if Apocalypse got this voice in Xmen
I would of cum in my pants during his lines
Pretty much
Holy shit, that REALLY would have turned that movie around !!
Let's be honest and truthful here, it wouldn't have fit him AT ALL lol
When you're someone even this Robotnik fears you know you're a powerhouse. Side note I always hated that scene where asks Snively about the color of his heart. It just always grossed me out.
exactly
Bro never brushes his teeth, it's fine.
"What color is my heart?" "I don't see a heart, sir.." "Exactly."
This is my favorite version of Dr Robotnik is more dark and serious like be should be
xdarkmario But if even the games eggman was always goofy villain (except SA2 and 06) shouldn't it be other way around?
meh, he actually accomplished things with his dark demeanor
This is by far Robotnik most evil incarnation I have ever seen.
I do believe I have found that paper weight I've always wanted.
A nice dream, but dreams are meant to be...Broken.
Hands down the most terrifying version of the character
Fleetway is scarier
Dr robotnik is the most serious and just pure evil and also be the least serious and comically evil character depending on what 90's sonic show you're watching
I watched this show at Netflix and also does anyone agree with me that Robotnik is a badass villain?
rainbowcelin not as badass as Skeletor
@@CaptainHatecrime
Robotnik needs his own Villain song that would be so cool to see.
Katelyn Bodiford uh.. have you HEARD his theme in this show? It’s perfect.
oh thats good! thats very good! waiwaiwait lower LOWER LOWER .... OH THATS JUST DELICIOUS
Costas Constantnou Nostalgia Critic XD
*It warms the cockles of my heart...*
"A nice dream. But dreams are meant to be...broken."
This is what Robotnik should have always been. An intimidating evil genius, who thinks of everything in advance and plans around it. Now he's a laughable idiot.
+Ran Yakumo If its any consolation prize the Archie Sonic Comics feature this Robotnik prominently.
In other news I agree with you this man lost his intimidation around Underground and he never got it back.
He was always supposed to be this way, even AOSTH had the silly version.
Modern Eggman is still pretty intimidating if you think about the things he's been doing. It's just that he has way more comic relief moments.
Neo Politan we need this robotnik in a sonic game
Koishi Komeiji I totally agree. This was, and still is the best Robotnik will ever be.
Imagine we got the timeline where Jim did the AOSTH Robotnik like he did in the pilot, and we never got this amazing Robotnik.
I mean, he did good in that AOSTH pilot, but man this... This is a whole nother level.
Not even 5 seconds in and Robotnik’s already wheezing
A.O.S.T.H Robotnik: Piss your pants with laughter.
Sonic SatAM: Pissing your pants with fear.
You know when you're dealing with a top tier villain when he jet boots out of your trap and starts shooting laser beams from his finger.
I always come back to watch this every now and then. I will say that there will never be a version of Robotnik that was so vile, frightening and evil. Seething with such anger as Sonic and the gang destroy his machines and ruin his plans. One that would stop at nothing to get what he wants. This caliber of villain doesn’t really exist anymore out side of comics, but who knows maybe one day we’ll get that again.
That bit about the heart at 3:15 always gave me goosebumps as a kid.
Antoine: "I am not the fuel, you are the fuel!"
I love this cowardly dork.
Antoine is a coward but he was brave enough to set a trap for Eggman that failed thought. Antoine is much better in the comics.
SatAM Robotnik is so evil, even modern Dr. Eggman would be scared of him
Damn robotnik! A nice dream, but dreams are meant to be... *_BROKEN_*
Badass villain
knowing nothing about sonic at all except what I gathered from nerd-osmosis I must say, he is actually a more intimidating villian than I expected, I really like the voice... I´m impressed
Delightful moments of Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
They warm the cockles of my metallic heart..
Comparing this Robotnik to modern Robotnik, or "bad-Nickelodeon-character-name", is depressing.
@@doctorstarline5647 - my idea of bad-Nickelodeon-character-name: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

This Robotnik is so vicious and cold-hearted, he puts any other villian to shame!
Robotnik used to be so intimidating and violinist, now we are stuck with the man whos greatest creations go against him!
Violinists have to be intimidating, you know. Otherwise no-one would treat them seriously.
Dimm Vargr exactly...Robotnik intimidates me all the time..but eggman...the guy who came up with the hot mobile!
how do you go from awsome to wtf?

Snively at 1:39 : "YoUr iMMenSe DenSIty"
I mean, that was pretty ballsy of him, if anything.
My heart still belongs to Julian, tho.
@@hopelesslysimping love ur name btw 🤝
When he was spinning in the chair I could hear bits of what would be used for Lord Boxman's voice in OK KO
The Voicing in SA1 was akin to this too
Such a shame that this show never aired in Japan. It would have been awesome to see who would have been cast as Dr. Robotnik. I could see Norio Wakamoto fitting the role perfectly.
This version of robotnik seems to be way more serious and sinister then the others
eggman hasnt really been this sinister ever in anything ive seen before beside some comics but this robotnik is so sinister and his voice just piles up the creepy
I love his voice!
3:12 this feels like something straight out of a spongebob episode, just replace Robotnik with Squidward and Snivley with SpongeBob and make the atmosphere much more light hearted and its the real thing
Love this robotnik
Voiced by the same person who played Negaduck in Darkwing Duck, Don Karnage in Talespin, Fat Cat (and Prof. Nimnul) in Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers, and Pete. Jim Cummings is a phenomenal voice acter in every sense of the word. There couldn't have been a better studio to voice the characters in the show.
And before you let me know, yes, I know he voiced other characters. This is just a list of examples.
6:53 now that is nightmare fuel
Just imagine someone like this coming for you
I see why Antoine beeps.

Omg! Snivley's squeak! I'd squeak too if Robotnik was mad at me.
So? Antoine BEEPS.
Robotnik is the malicious evil that makes Eggman look like a school boy doing pranks
4:33 shows he does have patience, he didn’t immediately get angry when it said it can’t do it
3:12 This is the most well though jokes for a supervillain
