I remember up to about 15 years ago that was the Disneyland Gallery. Everyone was able to go up there. They'd even have film props up there sometimes. It was magical for everyone, not just some people who could sink a ton of money into it.

I remember taking my daughter to Disneyland in 1994 and I swear we went up there for a dessert party and seats for fantasmic or fireworks. My daughter still remembers it and she was 5 then. Such a beautiful place.

20 years ago my husband and I were visiting our college student daughter during Thanksgiving. He got up at 5 in the morning to purchase special tickets to see Fantasmic on the balcony of 21 Royal. We sat on the balcony enjoying the fireworks show, hot cocoa and dessert. I’ll never forget how special we felt sitting up there and looking at the spectacular show.

In 2004, while it was still the Disney Gallery, we were able to purchase a Fantasmic Viewing Chocolate Dessert package and watch the show from the balcony. But my absolute best Disney magic came in November 2013 when the Disney Parks Blog offered a tour of the Dream Suite. There was a three hour sign up window, then a draw. I totally won the lottery. Kim Irvine gave 25 of us a private tour. I cherish the photo I have of the two of us on the patio. Definitely Disney Magic!

Totally agree. While the experience at 21 Royal looks amazing, it is only for the select few. Completely in line with Disney’s current trend of catering to the ultra wealthy. Not sure that’s what Walt had in mind sitting I. Griffith Park.

Hi Chris, My wife and I were fortunate enough to see the first ever showing of Fantasmic from that Balcony. We didn't even know at the time what Fantasmic was. We were looking for some kind of thine. we were standing at the base of the stairway and a cast member told us to stay there. Then they escorted us up to the balcony where we saw the first ever showing of Fantasmic. I do have it on video.

✨I spent the night there when I was in the 6th grade.✨
I do remember it fondly as the gallery, but I loved it the most as the Disneyland Dream Suite. My family was the 6th family in history to win a night’s stay there as a part of the Year of a Million Dreams promotion. We were just your average middle-class family on a budget. In fact, my dad had just been laid off a few days prior due to the writers’ strike. Our family of four were AP’s at the time. My parents decided to surprise my little brother and I by taking us out of school for a Disney day, knowing that we were about to be hit hard by financial hardship. Just a few minutes after 8:00 a.m. that morning was when a miracle happened.
I may never experience Club 33, but how many people can say they took a magical bubble bath in that enchanted bathtub?
I’ve been a die-hard Disnerd for as long as I can remember; even more so than the rest of my family. We were already aware of just about every little hidden detail within the suite long before we had our magical experience. I had been watching RUclips videos on the making of the Dream Suite, and educating my family on every little detail and its historical significance or connection to Walt. I dreamed and wished that I’d someday be able to see it all in person with my own eyes.
I’ve encountered many ups and downs ever since that day. I have faced adversity and hit “rock bottom” more than once. In spite of it all, I will never, EVER forget what turned out to be the absolute best day of my life.
Much love to everyone here in the comments. And a huge thanks to Provost Park Pass for consistently providing the fans with insider knowledge and entertainment.
P.S. I have an entire scrapbook with fun photos, written details, and souvenirs for anyone who is interested in seeing 😂

@25:29 just wanted to say thank you. That hit differently today. My daughter and I have watched your videos for a couple years, and used it as a guide for when we went to Disneyland in October. It had been 6 years since we had last went. Right now, things are pretty tough. And I know it may sound corny to some people, but those words help put things into context for me. In the chaos which is life, it's easy to forget those things. I'm really happy that you guys had a once in a lifetime opportunity. Looking forward to more of your fantastic content, and looking forward to the next time my daughter and I can head out to Disneyland to experience the magic. Thank you for all you do!

Thanks for the memories. I used to work at the Dream Suite/21 Royal for several years. (I still call in the Dream Suite… call me stubborn. 😂)
For your info: The right castle mural in the Parlor Room is the Château de Chenonceau, which is a French castle situated in the Loire Valley. Fun Fact: The castle was designed mainly by women throughout its history.
Also, the dining room you were in was intended as the original dining room as right next door to it is the kitchen for Club 33. The kitchen would have serviced both the Royal Suite and Club 33 (which today it fulfills). The room is also half the size of what it used to be when Club 33 took a part of the room for additional storage in the early 2000s. The dining room used to expand the length of that entire hallway that you enter from. It was sealed off and not included when the Dream Suite opened in 2008 but was repurposed later on. I can also confirm that room is haunted 😂

I went to many dessert buffets on that landing when it was the Disney Gallery (I still have pins!) The bedrooms and bathrooms were from the "Win the Magic" or some other random drawing for a family to stay for a night. Less than 12 hours, but still! I remember people reeeealy wanted to stay in that a
Suite. There were even Disneyland sites in the early 2000s!
I am glad Disney kept the beauty (even the hotel up close mirror!)
So happy you both had a wonderful time! The food, especially the tomahawk steaks looked tremendous! The chef brought it!
Thanks for letting us vicariously enjoy your adventure.

I loved it. There were 8 Royal 21s, I agree with the person below me. The "21" if I'm not mistaken, is used from the famous "21" Restaurant in NYC which my husband and I were invited to many moons ago. I was given a book on the place and a bit of the atmosphere was similar. The restaurant you went to is an add on in recent years. I remember going upstairs where it was just a museum of Disneyland 15 years ago. It's better this way, using the space and making people happy who can get in there and/or afford it. Walt's private place to entertain his guests is in New Orleans, think it's "23". It has been almost 15 years since being at DSNYLND when passholders were not so expensive. You both looked gorgeous, ready for the red carpet and a magical memory that will stay with you forever. Twinkle Toes Tinkerbell.

How cool! I was lucky enough to be invited for a dinner at Club 33 in January 2020 and all of this looks super similar and maybe it’s right next door? We went outside on the balcony in the New Orleans area as well and had the same view of fireworks and all that. The logos are similar too! I know that people who are members at club 33 have to pick a park and their membership is only good there. Do they have access to 21 Royal or is that a membership thing? Did they have a specific 21 Royal gift shop inside like club 33 does? Thank you so much for taking us along! Club 33 wouldn’t let us record or take pictures of the bathroom haha

Thank you both for sharing your experience at 21 Royal. Glad to see that the team of imagineers were able to interpret Walt’s vision of 21 Royal. We are fortunate to be surrounded by kind friends to invite us to Club 33. Also an elegant experience, it seems 21 Royal is exclusive to a smaller party.
I believe you had 11 blooper Royal 21 moments. I hope to display the 21 Royal next to my Club 33 napkin!
Keep entertaining, as we continue to enjoy your content!

1:19, 1:40, 2:25, 2:32, 2:39, 2:45, 2:50, 3:15, 4:30, 23:41 makes 10 Royal 21s! You ALMOST had it at 5:10, but you went back and fixed it. So I'm not counting 11 like so many others in the comments.
Interestingly, I tried to go through the captions just to double check my work. The captions only show 8 times! So that's just weird. lol

For our mom's 70th birthday we took her to Disneyland. We'd booked the walt's office walking history tour months in advance, but his office above the firestation was unavailable to tour. So instead, they took us to this suite above POTC. We weren't allowed to take photos, so it's really wonderful seeing this video to remind us of the magic we felt touring the suite!

Chris and Amanda, I was lucky enough to experience the art gallery that was once in this space. I remember the unusual layout of the intended apartment, and the breathtaking view from the terrace. The dinner looks amazing, and I thank you for filming it to share with your audience. But there is a part of me that wishes it was still that art gallery so everyone could ascend those stairs and picture in their minds' eye what the Disneys had imagined. Again, thank you.
