  • On day two of my escape to Delaware, I fished the Indian River Inlet and managed to catch a MONSTER (for me) Stripped Bass. Although it was rainy and cold, and despite the fact that I usually once catch 12in. to 22in. Stripers at Delaware Seashore State Park, this 30in. + Striper hit an Kai-Tech soft plastic on an 1/4oz. Jig Head during day time on the rocks. Also happened to be my birthday.

Great fish and video but try to lip the fish instead of grabbing it. It is easier to lip it and you have a better grip when doing that. it will also help with not dropping or letting the fish hit itself on the rock. again nice vid and keep fishin.

I find it funny that you say the jetty jocks don't like you because you are wearing a go pro. I fish and record there a lot, and have never had a problem. Most of the time they talk to me about it and ask if I post on you tube. Which I do. The Indian River Inlet is my favorite place to fish, and I live in PA also. There are many different species of fish that I catch there, and some are very nice sized. It does take some time to really learn how to fish there, and where the best spots are. But there are plenty of productive spots there. In fact almost every part of the inlet can produce fish.

You should try Surf City N.J fishing there is great for stripers and blues. May is a great for fishing there. I go there 2 to 3 times in the spring April and May. Stop in at surf city bait & tackle shop they will set you up for everything you need and even open the store for you after hours if you call ahead of time. I live in Pittsburgh Pa and it is worth the trip. And if you like big stripers head to cape cod canal fishing. Herring run motel in buzzards bay is cheap place to stay and you can walk to the canal from there. Nice PB my PB is 64lbs striper I got in NH in 1992.

Thanks man, that was huge for me as a trout guy. Unfortunate DE closed to out-of-stater's I was going to get spring salt-water fishing in before the summer crowds.

Don't reel while it's taking drag you'll twist up your line.

I thought it was common knowledge not to reel while a fish is taking drag because it puts twists in your line and weakens it. But I guess not. Good job making a fool out of yourself.

@@antonerocca2214 or I was stating a fact as a fisherman with actual knowledge and skill. You aren’t supposed to reel while the fish is taking line. It’s how you lose the fish.
