As a Pennsylvania trout fisherman (whose sampled the east coast and somewhat out west), I can safely say the Catskills are one of the best in the Northeast. The relative size of these streams which hold wild/native trout are special. Public access is generally great (aside from a few notable stream sections). I cannot wait to come back for a second try, albeit it is super popular and crowded at times. Very selective fish on the fly. Beautiful area generally.
The DEC doesn't stock 'bows in the entire Delaware watershed. Browns are stocked in the Bkill and Willow and a minor stocking in the EBr. But the WBr and Mainstem are essentially wild trout fisheries. Like the video. Also, it's willo-WE-moc.😊
Tictok does such. Go Pa.Trout. Have you ever fished Bucks or S.E. Pa streams? There are not many that have Wild trout ,Valley cr.,where l lived as a boy and Cooks Cr. There are a few others but skinny waters and not known.
Just dropping in and not knowing where you were going I would say you did well. I fish up there all season on all those streams and once you know the waters better and the hatches you would do real well. Exception, the Delaware can even humble those "experts" like me on some days!!
Thanks man! First time but will definitely return. Tried the Beaverkill but got skunked (although I know its the historic/premiere stream in that area). I also tried the West Branch on this trip but similarly didn't catch anything. Without a drift boat, its hard to cover alot of water on those bigger tailwaters.
As someone (myself) who discreetly believes you have multiple accounts that in the past have shit on me intensely, I may try that. Granted, I have no idea what euro nymphing entails (aside from tightlines, and I think up-side-down hooks), I am clueless. I have family friends who do euro nymphing and swear by it so I'll probably give it a try someday.
Your leader may have been too heavy. Fish on the Beaverkill are line shy (try 6x or even 7x if the water is low and clear) Nymphs: 16 anchor fly with a 18 dropper.
Awesome video!! Liked and subscribed. I'm planning a trip down there this spring with a buddy. The scenery looked insane. 🤘🤘
Pretty sure that big boy was a wild. Great video as always
Very nice holdover brown!! Definitely not wild… the pectoral fins give it away.👍
Looks like some great waters to visit. I’m moving upstate and I just started fly fishing. Can’t wait to get up there 🤙
Good luck brother!
Nice job with the switch to fly rod and the dry fly .....that's great for first time there....
Great video. My favorite place.

That was a real nice brown trout!
Nice! I'll be in cross forks starting tomorrow. hoping to grab a couple on the fly!
Ayyy..hope you did well man Cross Forks (also Hammersley and Kettle) are top notch PA native brook trout streams when the water levels are good.

Thanks man, appreciate it.
really nice video!! what so many false casts? try a roll cast, or a roll cast pick up. Save you arm.
Dude you should really start a tiktok page its an amazing way to grow your platform, and the tiktok fishing community would love you

My bro. When are we gonna make some homemade dumplings and asian beef?
Come up and fish East Branch Clarion River with us. St Marys PA. Bottom fed Dam. Great fly fishing

the willow E moc?
During one of my clubs for school we went up to pine creek and stocked it with trout so if I were you I’d go up there
My family has a cabin up on Pine Creek so I'll be up there soon enough. My favorite place on early for fishing and hiking.
Bro, the water was glassy, how could it be so windy?
Great vid - love the UD. Btw its pronounced “willow - wee - mock”
Thanks, I'll get it right next time. Definitely plan to go back.
You should try euro nymphing this fall

Surprised you picked up with dry hand

Thanks for the advice man, appreciate it!
You hit the rookery. Piddlers.
You should go up to salmon river in New York and fish the salmon run
Someday I wanna try that, from other vids, it looks awesome.
Take a 7WT fly rod with you in case you need something extra to help you punch through wind!! 😇
They don't stock rainbows there....only browns
So that's a wild rainbow?
Absolutely@@TravelingTroutCo
You should give bfs fishing a try! I think you'd love it.
BFS? What is that...?
The guides ruined the main river. Used to catch 50 per day average 17" 30 years ago.
