CHECK THIS LINK FOR THIS ONLINE PHARMACY. I found this place for cushings meds...trilostane. so much cheaper and WORKS! THEY ARE LEGIT! you need a prescription from your vet. www.cfspharmacy.pharmacy/trilostane-tablets-compounded
Yes you helped me greatly, I appreciate the compassion you express for your doggies. They are special and God knew we would need them. I personally believe if we know the lord Jesus, we Will see them again. 🙏 Thank you so much for the insight.
Yes, the Lord knew we would need our pets during our difficult times in our lives and our pets have given us ALL their true and trusted love. Now, It's time to also give them back ALL our true and trusted love at this, their most difficult time in life! 🙏❤🐕
my dog was diagnosed with cushing at aged 7 he is now 13 and been on vetoryl with adjustments made over the years, he is now showing neurological symptoms as the tumour is now affecting him as its in his brain. They can live a full happy life with treatment. Thank you for your video and just to say they can live a full life xx
sorry to hear about your little guy and thanks for posting. vetoryl is very expensive. i search around for days and finally found a great online pharmacy that works with veterinarians. i get twice the amount of vetoryl for less than half price....see the link in the video description. it goes by a different name. Jack is doing really well and is 13 now. i just hate that he can't see from the diabetes. he's on insulin twice a day.
Rotter Tube Reef Jack has been so unlucky getting diabetes on top of cushing I feel for you , my dog has been lucky as I spotted it very early due to aggressive outbursts and other subtle changes . Love that your dedication to your dog x
@ROTTERtube, I am going through this for a second time with our fur family. First time was with my Shiba Inu mix. She was 12 at diagnosis of Cushings, did all the blood work and treated her with Trilostane for 6 1/2 years. Like you with Your Jack; She passed late in the evening with me by her side loving on her. She never got diabetes nor went blind. She passed at 18 years old. Like you said, 40 years isn’t long enough. Now our dog Jack who looks so much like your Jack has both. Diabetes came first about 9 months ago and he didn’t lose his sight. He was just diagnosed with Cushings as well about three weeks ago and he went blind this week which is SO hard! Jack isn’t reacting well to the Vetoryl and has another appt Wednesday to discuss our options. I met Jack when he was 3 weeks old. He was supposed to be my mother’s dog but has been ours since about 8 weeks old. I am sharing this for a couple of reasons one, being that Kazia did great for 6 1/2 years and want to give hope to some of the people who will find your video. Secondly, your video touched me very deeply as your Jack reminds me of our Jack! Thirdly, THANK YOU!! I have read through all the comments an am so appreciative that you continued to respond throughout the years even though I can tell that it got harder for you. We love our Dogs because they are family!! It may break our banks but it breaks our hearts more. I may not get as lucky with my Jack as we did with our Kazia but dammit we are going to do what we can! Fur family members are sentient beings that we all can learn and share so much with and from. Thank you again and cheers to your Jack an his lil sister.
Sorry you're going through this. Thanks for watching the video. I made it to help others. Jack passed away a few months after this video I believe. He died in my arms at home.
Thank you for the video. My poodle has cushing but i treat her with Tao tablets. Like your product it has a good reviews and we'll try that instead of the vet product that's also extortion....
You feel about your dog the same way I do. My Shih tzu 14 yrs was just diagnosed with diabetes last Thursday after blood work due to loosing weight. Drinking lots of water constant thirst and frequent peeing. So I’m new to all this. I will ask vet to keep him overnight and track his numbers too, if all these vet visits come up. I’m a senior retired money is fixed for me. But I adore my baby. He walks great he is deaf and has cataracts but he is still doing good but very very picky eater. Thanks for the video! Love the colored brick wall so pretty! Best of luck with your boy! Much love!💝🤞
Thanks for this video. My dogs has cushings and diabetes too, so I'm in the same boat. I am a little scared of the Vetoryl side effects, but like you said, we just have to trust the vets on this and get the required testing . Again, thanks and good luck with your baby.
I appreciate your insight. My baby just got diagnosed with cushings. I suspect she has had this for awhile. Unfortunately this is happening while my husband started dialysis and I suspect we missed or were in denial about Cooper. Idk why I had to tell you our whole story, but I feel you put your heart on display for us. Thank you. Very helpful vid. Cooper is on meds now luckily I have a friend who can claim cooper and get us 75% on vet bills and meds through her vet clinic.
ME TOO. The one thing I will always remember from when I was a kid, my aunt said, no matter how much more time you get, it will never be enough. she is right. 40 years wouldn't be enough.
We just found out our Lola has Cushings. Her liver is swollen, lots of things going wrong. They are worried diabetes is next. Our dog just turned 5, so very young to have this disease. We have started the vetoryl about two weeks ago. Not seeing much of a change, except she isn't drinking as much water, so not going out to potty all during the night like she was. I know she is uncomfortable with the weight gain but she still wants to be the watch dog, she still wants to play. So much love and life. I agree with you, dogs are better than most people. They are our family and count on us. They love unconditionally. I'm sorry you and your dog are going through this. I hope he feels better. You have a wonderful heart for loving and doing everything you can for your baby. Thank you for your video.
Thank you for the video - what specific test does vet do to diagnose cushings? My 14 year old pug panting, drinking much, then intense goose honk cough, 2 ER visits, 4 vets, several meds, nothing helping the 24-hour cough - I have spent thousands on her in two weeks diagnosed trachea collapse, but I also need to check on cushings .......... She's my best bud no sleep two weeks as she sleeps with me and coughs all night..........
@@ROTTERtube thank you - I was just advised by my son who is a radiologist that Molly has bacterial pneumonia / it was on an X-ray and vet failed to communicate this to me
i also am a reefer, and I follow you on you tube, so glad i found your video on cushings ,my dashound has it. thank you for sharing the pharmacy sight I was paying double at another online pharmacy! I would rather spend it on corals!!
Thank you for making this video. My 9yr old girl was diagnosed with diabetes and Cushings 6mo ago. Getting the diabetes under control is definitely a roller coaster- insulin x2 day - she started the Vetyrol 5mg x2 day and seemed to do ok for a few months.. until her IM vet doubled the dose.. her hind legs gave out almost overnight. So we stopped the vetyrol altogether- she was out on steroids for 6days and hind quarter weakness resolved as quickly as it came.. she is not on anything for the Cushings right now. But She is getting hind quarter weakness again- which I know is a symptom of Cushings as well. We will just keep pushing on to keep her as stable and comfortable as possible. Your video made me feel like I wasn’t dealing with this in a silo. My life revolves around what she needs until she doesn’t need me anymore.
@@ROTTERtube thank you. I’m sorry to hear about Jack passing over. Just, know, that you’re video is still helping people out here, all because of Jack. :)
Great video. My 12 year old Italian Greyhound is getting ACTH test tomorrow. He’s been drinking water like crazy. But has no belly at all. He’s actually very skinny losing weight. My vet said the drug would be Trilostane. She said it’s about $30-$60/month. I’m doing more research now. Thanks for the video and with the best to your dog.
you're welcome. yep, that's what Jack is on. I put the link in the video description for where I get the meds online...much cheaper and it's a great pharmacy! i don't get kick backs....just posted to help everyone out. i think i pay $30 every other month.
I agree with you 100% about people. I love animals more than people too. I rescue ferrets, and have had experience with Cushings. I'm taking DeeDee to acupuncture & she's on special Chinese herbs. She also needed electrolytes. It seems to be helping her much better than anything I've tried from the vet. She seems much more comfortable. I also do a gentle acupressure massage on her liver & kidneys & that helps too. She is never caged, she rules the house.
God bless you and I'm glad DeeDee is doing fine. Jack is doing well with the cushings meds I found for cheap from that online pharmacy....in the video description. he is still blind from diabetes but gets around the entire house no problem...even up the stairs to find me. he's sleeping on the couch next to me now.
Hi Gypsy, I am sorry your pet has Cushings. It looks like your post is 3 years old now. I was curious how your dog reacted to the herbs and electrolytes. Would you recommend any specific herbs and or electrolytes that I could give me dog?
My little Cooper (13 yr old Bichon mix) was just diagnosed with diabetes and probably cushings. Came on fairly sudden, started drinking and peeing a lot. Has been able to control that because we have a dog door, but is having trouble getting up and down the steps. His blood sugar was 500, when he was diagnosed! I had suspected he might have been developing cushings because of the weakness and nightime confusion and I had started him on HMR Ligans by Dr Oscar, about 2 months ago and it did seem to help possibly why he hasn't had any inside accidents. But when he threw up last week, that was very unusual for him. Vet weighed him and he has lost 6 lbs, since his last vet check, and he is a little guy! He is on 3 units ( I think you mean units, not cc's )of insulin 2x's a day and an antibiotic for a UTI which goes along with the diabetes. He appears better but definitely not himself. Goes back on 6/30 for another all day stay to check glucose levels. $1000 so far! I am going to start making my own homemade diabetic dog food, lots of videos out there. I want him around as long as possible, since he is my BEST DOG EVER. Good luck with Jack!
I'm so sorry to hear the news. You are a GREAT pet parent. Good luck to you. Unfortunately Jack passed away a few years ago but I did what I could until the end. He passed away in my arms at home. I was lucky to be with him during that time but it was rough.
@@ROTTERtube Thanks so much, your video was a big help. Sorry to hear about Jack, but I know you did all you could. Not any easy situation to deal with. I hope Cooper will be with us awhile longer!🙂
Vetoryl almost killed my Shih Tzu. I wouldn't use that again. Look at the video I added below of Dr. Judy Morgan speaking about the dangers of Vetoryl.
I'm so sorry you and your baby are going through this. My Lhasa Apso was diagnosed with Cushings and like you I had to make that difficult decision to euthanize. He was 12. My chihuahua now has diabetes and hypothyroidism. He is on insulin shots twice daily as well as thyroxine tablets. I agree with you that the treatment and medicine is expensive and requires diligence in order to keep our babies feeling better but there really is no alternative . My chihuahua is 10 now going on his third year of insulin. He does well is happy and acts like a 4year old too. We hate to see them get older I know but I'm thankful for modern medicine and helpful informative videos like yours. Thanks for sharing your story and good luck with your furbaby.
thanks Nancy. sorry to hear what you are going through as well. Jack is still with us. he is doing a little better. insulin was bumped up. still blind, and still on cushings meds. i feel bad for him but he does get around the house very well...even up the stairs and into our room. he jumps up on couches too.
Hi, I can't thank you enough for posting this video. I hope your dog is doing well. I have a 7 yr. old shih tzu who was diagnosed last week. You know how heart breaking that is. Gracie was born blind and the breeder was going to put her down. I took her and she is the BEST dog I ever had. I am so afraid that after her urine tests (they had to be sent out) come in, the vet. will put her on meds. that I just cant afford. For now he has her on a valium after she seizes. She is now seizing 1x a day as opposed to the 1x a month and she doesn't seem to know where she is for a while and also her back legs are wobbly. I learned a lot from your video. Also, the vet. said she won't die from cushings, but every vet. I watch said that she will die from 1 1/2 to 2 years. How can this be? Your tip on the drops is going to be very helpful. I thank you so much again. Best wishes, Pat
Fed him food by the co. HONEST KITCHEN. really great stuff. I'm sorry to hear about your dog. It's a tough road for sure but since you love him/her it's easier.
Glad it was helpful! i wish you well! i put a link in the video description for Cushing meds for an online pharmacy that is much cheaper and it’s a real pharmacy. your vet can fax over the prescription to them. i don’t see any commission on it at all, just me posting what worked great for me and saves lot of money.
I just watched your entire video. I just found out my chihuahua Benny has both Diabetes and Cushing’s a couple days ago. I’m very overwhelmed. I gave him his first insulin injection Thurs…I have not been able to give him one since because he didn’t eat yesterday or today. He is also on the Vetoryl. I have the purina pro plan & the Hills prescription diet food (vet recommendation) what do you give your dog? Or do you have any recommendations? Thank you I appreciate your video good luck with your little guy. Melissa
Steve, Listening and watching this video was difficult for me personally because we lost our Jack Russell terrier last year to Cushings. She had many of the same symptoms you described and in the end we had to put her to sleep which was one of the saddest days of my life. Her name was Maggie and she was a great dog, just great and my wife and I really loved her. She was 13. It's been hard not having her here at home since then. I share your love of animals and dogs in particular. You're right, animals are much easier to deal with than people many times. I hope Jack is around for many more years. Sounds like a wonderful loving dog. Tim
Tim, so sorry for your loss of Maggie. It's amazing how they bond with us and become part of us. I was a wreck the first couple weeks after losing Roxy, especially the first few days. There were no warning signs, it just happened one morning. Never thought that would be the end. Funny how we think they'll be with us forever on this messed up planet. My brother just put his dog of 16 years down, 2 days ago.
hi steve just came accross this video again ... my 12 year old border terrier bella has just been diagnosed with diabetes she is now on insulin twice a day so heart breaking after i just had to say goodbye to my other dog sukie after 15 years
I agree completely dogs are way better than most humans . Hope he is ok and lives a good couple of years . I love how you are rocking him like a baby its the same thing i do with mine (the terriers not the bullmastiff ) please keep us updated on how he's doing 🤞
Thank you Steve for videos like this. I have two little boys (pups) and couldn't imagine not doing all I could for them if they got sick or just to make their way of life better. My 1 year old has cost me about 1800.00 in vet bills since I've had him. He needed nostril and elongated pallet surgery, among a few trips to the ER at 3AM. Seems to happen right before I have to go to work every time..lol. My boys are part of my family too...Glad to see Jack doing well in your arms.
Hi there - Jack is very sweet. My dog, Daisy, a mix of Yorkie and Shitzu, (Shorkie) just started having seizures last Thursday (April 27th). She presents all the symptoms of Cushings and now, possibly diabetes. It's a lot for one person to take on, but of course, I will. I'm afraid to leave her alone.....and at some point, I will have to. She's has pee accidents at home, even though I take her out very often....I'm just in the beginning stages of dealing with this - your video is really really helpful and I thank you for posting it. All the best to you guys.....
Hi, so sorry you are going through this. it is a lot to take in and it's rough. the vet told me the cushings meds actually counteract the insulin shots so they go against each other. that is why it's even more difficult to find the right balance between the two. upping the cushings meds means lowering the insulin and vice versa. this of course costs money in testing, at about $150 a pop, which we don't have. it's been rough. i put a link in the description of the video of where we get the cushings meds online for much cheaper. through the vet is $120 a month. online is $80 average. i found this online pharmacy where i get it for $35 a month and it's legit. insulin is much cheaper. jack still has the occasional pee accident. you also have to watch their diet, which will help as well. glad the video helped you. i just had to make it to let others know. good luck.
Hi again - thank you so much for your empathy and writing back. Daisy is on anti-seizure meds and I am 100% sure she has Cushings...but still need an 8 hour test at the vet's?? It is complicated by the possibility of diabetes. It's been a week and she initially had 7 seizures in 48 hrs. The anti-seizure meds (2nd one I tried) kicked in immediately, but she had a break through seizure last night. I'm awaiting a call back from the vet as I type. She's been drinking water like crazy and has had 3 accidents in the last 12 hours, even though I am letting her out every hour, if not less than that. I live in Canada so I will have to research the meds when things stabilize and I know exactly what I am dealing with.....it's $2500 later and nothing conclusive. This is my 1st experience with a sick dog (she's 9.5).
i'm so sorry you're going through this. it is rough and i'm certainly not made of money, as i'm sure you're not either. i didn't spend that much but what i did spend hurt financially, and emotionally of course. Jack went through an 8 hour test at the vet as well, which turned into 10 hours. i felt really bad leaving him there but he was in good hands. the dog will fast then they feed them and give them cushings meds then feed again then give cushings meds, to see how far along they are and how much cushings meds they will need. Jack's drinking and panting slowed down a lot after about a month on the meds. he does it a little here and there still. diabetes will also cause them to drink a lot. jack has to be let out every hour most of the time. i would still do that whether he had an issue or not, just to be safe. good luck. Jack has never had a seizure thank God.
Hi, I just found this video. First so sorry for your loss. My Max has diabetes and is blind for the last 3 years. His care has been challenging but I’ve managed. His insulin dosage has become problematic again and we’re back to uncontrollable urinating and pooping. During covid were home and take him out frequently but it’s not enough. Rounds of testing and adjustments. now Vet wants to test him for now for cushings. Periodically we still see that lively silky terrier but the moments are fewer. I guess I’m curious did you make the decision to let go or let him pass naturally? Thanks for sharing.
hi, sorry for all you’re going through. with insulin, they say it lasts about 3 months but i renewed the bottle every 2 months, which helped. also, after talking with my vet, i gave him a bit more insulin which did help a lot. Jack had Cushings as well, and i got meds online from a phenomenal pharmacy. i put the link in the video. i don’t get commission...that’s just for you. much cheaper and the same stuff. as for Jack, i couldn’t bring myself to put him to sleep. one morning around 2am he had seizures and he died in my arms, which is the best, i suppose, because i was with him. as you said, there are good days and not so good days. i couldn’t bring myself to put him to sleep because of the good days.
IM GLAD I RAN ACROSS YOUR VIDEO. MY BABY FOUND OUT SHE HAS DEIABETES I I WAS SHOCK HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST ...CAN U PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE YOU GOT THHE CUSHEX DROPS....THANK YOU SO MUCH
I'm so sorry to hear that. I think I put the link in the video description. If you don't find it reach out to me again. It's a great pharmacy online that is legit and very pro. They saved me a ton of money.
Thanks for the info. My baby is nine years old. She’s my best friend. We just got her tested for Cushing’s today and I should be hearing back soon. But the symptoms seem to fit. So I’m gonna do whatever I can for her.
i'm glad you found the video. make sure to check the video description for the online pharmacy I use for the cushings meds. you will need your vet to fax over or call in the prescription for you. i don't get a kickback for this. i wanted to share it out because through the vet the cushings meds are very expensive, like $120 a month! i pay about $40! good luck
Chelsea,, I'm where you are. Just rec'd the first round of labs. Next is ultrasound and dex test to confirm. Glad we both found this video. I'm going to try a natural diet, supplements and traditional meds. Rotter...hope your little guy is better!!
Kim Clark yeah I wanted to do natural but my vet said it takes a little longer to work so I decided to do the other meds. But my vet said I could switch down the line if I wanted. I didn’t know Exactly what to do at that point. So I just got the regular medicine. I have to say I see a little improvement and it’s only been like a week. She has an appointment in like a week and a half so we’ll see
Hi this is the best video from a real life owner I've seen. I beleive my dog has cushings as he has the thirst urination and bloated belly & lethargy. How is your doggy doing? Hopefully we get good news or atleast a treatment plan. Thanks!
Hi Dennis, thanks for watching. Jack passed away a few months after this video unfortunately. He was 14. He dealt with cushings and diabetes for 3 years. I put a link to a great online pharmacy that works with veterinarians. The cushings meds are A LOT CHEAPER. I don't see any money for it if you go with them. Cushings meds are roughly $120 a month and this pharmacy is about $30? Diabetes causes uncontrollable urination so your dog may have that. If you use insulin for diabetes, as we did with Jack, I would recommend using the bottle for 2 months, as opposed to 3 months, as it does lose its potency. Also, his insulin had to be updated so I was having to give him more as he was urinating everywhere.
I didn't know any of this stuff and I found it so really interesting and I love animals for the same reason as you they are so loyal and a lot more loyal than any human being 😻🤗
Thank you for the video. It was very helpful. I was told in May that my seven year old dog, Riley had diabetes and arthritis. Two weeks later more test showed she also had Cushing's. Since then I appear to be fighting a losing battle. The medicine has helped some. She was incontinence for a while and that is gone. But her energy level is way down and ten minutes into our walk she is struggle to finish. Mostly she lays on the floor painting like she is hot. Going up and down stairs is extremley difficult but she wants to sleep in the same room I'm in so she goes up them each need. Then about five weeks ago she started losing her eyesight and today she is roughly 90% blind. She will run into the side of my van if I don't lead her up to the open door. Usually I have to help her in. The cost has just been horrible. The insulin dosage at meals is 31 mg so I go through a vial each week @ $65. The Vetoryl costs $150 a month because I need a 60 and 10 mg pill. So my medicine cost is around $450 a month when you include the thyroid pill she needs to keep her weight down. Add all the testing (they can't get her diabetes under control) and I'm running almost $600 per month. Even when/if they get her sugar under control I will still be paying almost $500 a month. I know in my head I should put her to sleep. But like you, she is more than just a pet or dog to me. She is family. However, being retired I can't keep doing this and I'm torn. I know she is not going to get better and her quality of life is pretty poor. Your video helped. You are the only person I've seen who had a dog with the same issues and had the same questions/concerns I am dealing with. They are the one thing in life you get more out of them than you put in. Rescue dogs make the best pets.
My dog got diagnosed with cushings disease, 4 days in usings vetoryl and my dog was throwing up all night and in the morning hasnt eaten all day and is not using the bathroom outside. very hard to deal with, vet told me to take him off the vetoryl for now to see if he's better. didnt help him at all after day 3
Shane, sorry to hear this. was he still sick like this after you took him off the vetoryl? if he got better, maybe the dose is wrong. it's a tricky balance in getting the dosage right, especially when diabetes is also involved, as with my guy, Jack. it's been 2 years and he's still with us, although, he has gotten a little worse, being he's 14.
My doxie is on vetroyl and proin plus melatonin. She had a stroke last May where she lost her sight and was going in circles. She has a pituitary tumor from the Cushings. Nights are hard for her.
so sad for you and your doggie kid,, mines going thru this cushings was just diagnosed, its so sad to see her spin in circles and be miserable, its so hard on me and her, makes me cry
so sorry to hear the sad news. if you are going to use the cushings meds i highly suggest the online pharmacy for the meds. they are 1/4 the price and work really really well ..... it's the same stuff! i left a link in the video description. i don't make a penny on any sales....just me spreading the word. good luck. i know it's sad.
thanks so much, she has improved a bit but not the way she was, but only been on the meds a little over a month.. shes on what your dog was on,, Our vets price isnt to bad for the month at 55 dollars rounded off then her anxiety meds to keep her calm cause she gets to running circles really fast at times and when she walks she goes in circles. , ill check out online as well, hope your dogs doing well still. my dog is 12 and her bday was on sept 14th its like once she turned that age , then boom she just got sick,, yes very sad to see her go to a lively , talkative smart dog to being in such a mess.. my heary goes out to you as well
i'm paying $60 for 2 months worth. Jack also had diabetes. he went blind within a few days. he was fine and then not....the cataracts set in that fast. that's what breaks my heart. he's still the loving boy and gets around ok, but can't run anymore, since he can't see. we have a 7 month old german shepherd who adores him. i hate they can't play together like they used to.
ok yea i will see what i can find on that then for the meds. yea its a horrible disease, sorry your dog went blind and cant play no more. its sad to see them decline.. I am just glad you have a heart like me.. I am trying the best i can to make her feel better but it just so sad. Its sad to watch my beagle walk cause she walks in circles sometimes its better than others, sometimes she can go in circles so fast she makes me dizzy,, she dont bark no more or talk and not her perky self, makes me just want to cry,, just like your dog it came on just like that.. I was hoping there was natural stuff to help but its hard to find that kind of help and real true natural help. I deal with health issues myself like brain fog so im doing natural stuff, wish there was more pet doctors and people ones as well that did this and then the insurances pay for it .. I am trying tho, shes supposed to go back in for another test monday to see where here cortisol and other levels are at.. I just hate seeing her either up and spinning or sleeping so much, not much of a life like she had. I just wanna cry. thanks for writing me and helping,, Prayers and blessing to you and your doggie kid
you're welcome. i'm right with you. it made me really upset. Jack would sit just staring at the wall a few inches in front of him and cry. he didn't know where he was. the good news is, they actually do find their way around. it is amazing. Jack stays on the couch most of the time but he does walk to his bed across the living room and he does know where his food and water dishes are. He does go up the stairs and finds where I am. When he could see, he always slept on the back of the couches like snoopy. He has actually jumped on couches and even to the back of the couch to his "perch." This made me so happy. I agree on the natural remedies. They are out there. I was putting castor oil drops in his eye once and twice a day. This dissolves cataracts if caught in time. I did it for 3 months. No change.
You are a really good person. Already liked your channel cause of the reef, metal and hockey, but this video says a lot about you. We lost our 11 year old pug Odin that we got as a rescue at age 2 last during christmas of 2015. He lost his sight, started to have problems not going in the house, because of an enlarged gall bladder (it was the size of an orange) and also liver problems. We saw specialists and several vets, tried meds and did whatever we could, but ecause of the liver issues there was nothing we could do to save him as he would bleed out if we tried to operate. We did what we could, but there was just no saving him and we had to make the tough choice to put his well being before our want to keep him in our lives. I miss the guy every day and keep his picture and ash and name tag from his collar out to this day. As you say, they are members of the family after all, so you do what you can, and in the end what you have to do, no matter how hard it is. We have 4 other senior pugs that are also adopted as rescues, and when/if the time comes, they also deserve somone not to give up on the just because its the easy way out. Good luck to your little guy, and kudos for fighting for him just like he would do for you
Thanks for the very nice post. So sorry for your loss. It's really hard to lose those guys because they are so perfect. they really are. When I had to make the choice to put his sister to sleep I was not prepared at all. She was fine the night before and the next morning she was not. My wife said she was dying and i told her she was out of her damn mind. I laid with her all day and did all the research i could, taking her to the vet twice. in the end, she was declining rapidly. it was bad. I keep her ashes and paw print and collar by the bed. Sometimes it's hard to see the collar. It's something I can't quite do yet. My brother just put his maltese down the other day, he was 16. It was a matter of time obviously.
hi, I have a question.... my boo-boo was diagnosed with diabetes, but he's got every text book symptom of cushings as well but the vet isn't listening his back legs are so weak i will demand a cushings test I'm wondering if the muscle weakness will return through the cushings treatment do you know? thank you
get another vet or at least a 2nd opinion. my dog has cushings. he's on the meds and his hind legs were fine after a few weeks on the meds. if your gut is telling you cushings, then follow it. my dog has cushings and diabetes. he's going great except for the fact he is losing his sight rapidly from diabetes. just happened this week. look at the link in my video description for the online pharmacy i use for cushings meds. instead of $120 a month i am paying $30 thank God. so glad i found this place. many people use it. its' the same as what the vet sells but much less and generic.
He's not listening, because he has no solution.According to my very knowledgeable acupuncturist, diabetes has 3 stages. Please try & seek out an acupuncturist or a naturopath, He needs to get his body aligned & herbs to remedy this situation. You'll have to google it or use the yellow pages. Is there a China town near you? I would look there too.I have had ferrets who's back legs got weak, they had cancer. Go to a web site on you tube with Dr. Andrew Jones. He is a holistic Vet. Best of luck to you & Boo-Boo.
To avoid taking the dog to get retested you can purchase a home glucose kit & test at home. Most people test prior to injecting the insulin before meals. Thank you for sharing your story. I had been treating my yorkie for Cushings when She started having jerking type seizures, which led me to go over her blood work again, I feel like the vet overlooked that she had diabetes as well! So for over a year shas been without meds for diabetes. I feel very disheartened. her legs are weak & it pains me to see her fall, I’m researching all I can & reading trying to get her feeling better. Thanks for the links to the reasonable priced meds 💕. So sorry your Jack passed away. 😢😢
My doggy passed yesterday morning. He was a super healthy boy for 11 years - cross-bread of greyhound and whippet. He suddenly got sick and was diagnosed with diabetes, Cushings' and pancreatitis. We had hope....The Vet was optimistic... But sadly he passed on - my worst fear became a reality: I had to find his lifeless body AND then "make a plan"... I am totally broken.
I am so sorry for your loss. I went through the same thing but I was lucky I guess to have him die in my arms early one morning. IT does break you. I'm really sorry. I know that pain all too well.
I'm with you on preferring dogs to people all the way. My 8 Yr old lhasa Darcy, had just had blood work done for the exact same symptoms , and urine checked.result sugar in urine and bloods show elevated levels on her liver. The vet is deviating towards diabetes but will perform the cushings bloods if she dosent improve on the insulin. She quoted me £50+ for the insulin meds who's depending on the dosage she will be on could do a month or perhaps 2 on a low dose. Pretty expensive.. But I will see how it goes. She's only eight as I say and has never had any probs until now. But we do what we can for our pets if we can afford to.
i hope all turns out well. Jack had cushings and diabetes the last 2 years of his life. daily insulin shots twice a day and cushings meds for 2 years. yes it can be expensive. it can be rough financially and of course emotionally.
@@ROTTERtube just had diabetes confirmed today, and vet will give me insulin and see how it goes if it dosent settle then they will run cushings test fingers 🤞 that it works. Thanks for this videa. It helped me a lot yesterday as I just cried all day 😩 x yes here in the UK. I was told that it works out £50 a month but it depends on what dose she will be on could possibly last 2 months. Then as you say if cushings is confirmed more., but we will do what we can for our furbabies. I will be checking out all sources for the insulin too as we all know through the vets is extortionate.. That's if it possible to do so. Thanks again for your video, and replying much appreciated 💜🇬🇧
So glad he's doing ok, he's a lovely lil man. Leeloo had the same round of tests last year, so yeah, Cushings (causing thyroid issues) and type 2, hence her going blind. She's such a champ with her 'jections now (24ccs a day) , because that means it's food time!! I think we were more freaked out with the injection than she was, but now it's second nature. It's costing me about £250 minimum a month without vets visits, so with me still being unable to work, i've had to sell a tank and am in the process of selling off some corals, but it's for Leeloo, my saviour, so totally worth it. :)
yeah man, they are totally worth it. Leelo is gorgeous. Giving the injection is 2nd nature and he could care less haha. The vet said Jack will go blind within a year. I hope that doesn't happen. I can't imagine him being like that. people said they get around well but still...
Rotter Tube Reef leeloo did really well when she was blind and I looked after another blind dog recently, they adapt amazingly well, but Leeloo not being able to not run after the ball well wasn't great for her, hence the surgery. I may be poor, but I have a very happy dog, thus I'm happy. :)
Thank you for this video, it was very informative. I’m dealing with my 11 year old Doxie who has cushings. Has all the symptoms and is on vetoryl. His appetite is ravenous to the point where he was waking me up all night for food so vet put him on trazodone at night. It’s been a few months now but I think he’s had it for much longer. His panting is getting worse and makes me wonder if he is in pain. I just don’t know when the right time to put him to sleep is. He’s not ready yet but I’m so scared something tragic will happen and I don’t want to put him through anything like that. 😢. Sorry about your Jack.
there may be some pain, but how much, i'm not sure. there is heavy panting. cushings meds are expensive each month....like $120 a month! i included a link where i get a 3 month supply for $60 or something like that. i don't see commission or anything. i just included it to help. it's a legit pharmacy and they require a prescription from your vet.
thank you so much for sharing this information. we are just starting this journey as my doxie had blood work done prior to dental cleaning that showed the liver enzymes elevated. she has the loss of hair, excessive drinking water, lethargy, and weakness in hind legs.... more testing needs to be done, however in the interim I am thinking I should start her on something herbal (like the cushex)... ?
I'm sorry you're going through this. it was a long rough road for the last 3 years of Jack's life. diabetes insulin shots and cushings disease. you can try herbal. if your doxie has diabetes make sure your insulin is replenished every 2 months...don't wait until it's gone....even if it means you can go 3 or 4 months.....it goes bad and they will start peeing everywhere. I speak from experience. I made sure to get a new one every 2 months. good luck. I know it's a rough road.
My miniature schnauzer who is 9 years old developed diabetes 6 months ago.. looking at all the Cushing's videos I'm thinking he does have Cushings to.. Going in for the test I have his mother she's 13 and she's been showing Cushing signs for the last 3 months I didn't realize it till today when I watch the videos I was wondering what was wrong with her I thought it was a side effect from her heart medicine she's pretty miserable and she shakes, drinks a lot pees a lot and she is ravenous with food. Paces ALL the time.. she does not have any of the other symptoms though. Thank you for the video it was good lot of good information
I have a Silky Terrier who is often mistaken for a large Yorkie. I totally love him! He's 16 and has developed cataracts. Last summer he started "the panting"...he doesn't do it all the time but at times he will have an episode. If he does it, it seems to be at night time. Lately, he hasn't done it but it's not typical panting like from a hot day. He does drink a lot of water and pees so much!. He's trained to pee on a pad and usually does but he's missing the mark quite often now. He gets his front paws on the mark and lets it out...so not like he is not trying. I think the low vision must be quite confusing for him. He has also lost his undercoat, his fur is getting very thin and he has developed the rounded belly...slightly. I am going to try the Cushex drops and will try to remember to comment back here. Thank you for your post! I have 3 dogs and they are all getting old. I have spent a lot of money at the vets over the years. I still would if I had the same income I use to have. Too bad that everything seems to happen at once. Perhaps your post is an answer to my prayers on how to help him. Thanks Chrissy
you're welcome Chrissy! i know. it costs a lot of money. Jack started the panting and it was cushings disease, along with diabetes. the diabetes caused him to urinate uncontrollably in the house and that's not like him at all. the cushings was the panting. between the cushings disease and diabetes he was always panting and always drinking water and having accidents. that has stopped with the cushings meds and insulin.
Thank you so much for the video! My 7 year old Norfolk terrier is currently being tested for Cushing's disease. She has all the classic symptoms- panting, drinking a lot of water, bald spots on her back, bloated stomach, etc. After watching your video I bought her some Cushex-S drops(thanks again for the info.). That helped a little while I'm waiting for her results from blood work to come back. My vet. said if they are positive she wants to put her on Vetoryl. I'm worried about the side effects. I don't want my dog to suffer. How did your dog react initially to the med? Is the cure worse than the disease? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.Good luck with your dog!!!
i'm glad you found the video. there were no reactions to the meds at all. check the link i put in the video description for the online pharmacy i use. they are legit! vets use them. it will save you a ton of money! you will need a prescription to use them. your vet can fax one over to them. they send the meds to me monthly. through the vet it was $120 a month! i can't afford that. i think i'm paying about $40 a month via the site. good luck.
I had a dog who lived to almost 16 with Cushing he went on vetoryl right away didn’t turn into diabetes he was a min pin he was diagnosed young he had Spinosa they steroids is what probably got him he passed due to glaucoma and his lung problem was getting bad
@@ROTTERtube omg sorry that why we got to love them as long as we can then share the love with others that’s what I did we have 2 yorkies they both have problems and are young but I don’t count them out never know how long till they go home most of my dogs so far lived to 13-16
hey Lexie, Jack passed away unfortunately 3 weeks ago. He was 15.5 years old. Luckily I was with him when he passed, at home. I had him since he was 10 weeks old. He was such a good boy. I miss him very much. He's with his sister now at least.
Rotter Tube Reef .......I’m sorry for you and your family’s loss. I have a 12yr old Maltese who just got diagnosed with Diabetes last week along with Weight loss, hair loss, jaundice, a mild UTI, and her pancreatitis was flaring. She’s responding well to the insulin, but it’s her liver numbers that have me on edge....she’s on Metronidazole for a possible liver infection and I’m praying to god it works. Her regular vet referred me to a full service animal hospital who literally wanted $3,800 to hospitalize her for 3 days to monitor her blood work etc. I’m a divorced 38 yr old construction worker who everyone thinks should have a Rottweiler or Pit Bull, but it’s that 9lb little girl in there who taught me what inadequate feels like. When a veterinarian healthcare professional is telling me they can fix my best friend, but only if I can afford it, I felt angry, helpless and frustrated. Vowing to never feel that way again and to do right by Sookie, i’ve been on a weeklong mission to educate myself on every single topic relevant to her conditions. The very same mission that brought me to your video. Thanks for posting as you provided very helpful information. She seems like she took a little step backwards tonight and is sick.... not sure how many more tears I have left so wish us luck.
pituitary. he's still with us. just turned 15. he has been having way more accidents in the kitchen where he sleeps. i upped the cushings meds by 25% and so far there's a big change. he doesn't go after water like crazy now. he was never stopping drinking. he took a turn for the worse. it was bad. just upped the meds a couple days ago. big difference. still on insulin as well for diabetes.
Same thing happened to us, my 12-13 yo chihuahua-frenchie girl suddenly crashed one day and "boom" you got Cushing's and that's causing diabetes we recommend euthanasia! Well that was NOT an option! So we stated the routine, like you - about $500 a month for a few months. It's now been over a year and a half ofdayregular daily dosing and office visits ($$) it's still about $200/month between the special food and drugs but she's still going pretty well, but now the alternate Cushing's symptoms (skin, hair loss, muscular atrophy) are staying to present, so... sigh It recently began to be very difficult to get the Vetoryl capsules, but my vet found a source for compounded Vetoryl in liquid form that is a little less expensive than the capsules since we can get several months out of one bottle, plus, you can get the exact dose your pet needs. Good luck with your boy, we take it one day at a time here. And you're right: animals are way better than people
Matthew, sorry to hear that. please check out this link for a MUCH CHEAPER online vet pharmacy for the vetoryl! i get NO MONEY OR KICKBACK from this. just passing it on. so glad i found it. they ship monthly and are very great at working with vets! my vet faxes over the prescription and they send them right out. they are so much cheaper! i don't feed special food anymore either. there has been no hair loss or anything. daily insulin and vetoryl from this online pharmacy, which is EXCELLENT! FRACTION OF THE PRICE!
My Lulu, whom I rescued from her Fifth rescue (she was a puppy mill mommy and is not a snuggler, uncommon for a doxie) so no one wanted her, was supposedly 8, vet said probably 14 to 15 years. She has severe arthritis and rarely walks. Her vet says she probably has Cushingʼs as well. She does not leave the kitchen, never has, so I have two puppy pads for her. She is so cute, she whines to let me know when a pad is wet. She stays hidden under a sheet all day. Now, after I have had her a year, she refuses to go outside even for sunshine. However, she now allows back scratches, but only from me. I am so ambivalent as to her quality of life, and the vet is no help. She says any decision must be made by me. I am not asking for pity on her part, I am asking if, with her severe arthritis and the Cushingʼs, what people would do if they were in this position. I love her with all my heart, but if with all of these issues, does she have any quality of life?
This is a great question. It's no quality of life and I'm selfish. My boy Jack, in this video, passed away in my arms at 2am one morning. Our German Shepherd woke me up to let me know he was having problems in the kitchen downstairs. There was nothing I could do for him...I just held him and talked to him then he passed. I couldn't bring myself to put him to sleep like I did his sister, just a year before.
@@ROTTERtube within hours of writing the above, she started screaming. She canʼt get up most of the time. She can stand up if I pick her up. Of course, on a holiday weekend. I can’t left her scream. Our vet did upgrade her gabapentin, so she sleeps. My heart is broken but I will send to Rainbow Bridge. Thank you.
@@justtere I'm so sorry to hear this. I went through the same with Jack's sister. She was falling over, not able to walk. I thought she would get better. Little did I know I would be putting her to sleep that night. worst night of my life. Prayers to you.
Once they get this sick, it's a few years at the most. Meds are expensive, which is why I made this video. The vet meds place online I used saves significant money and are legit.
I am sure my dog has cushions. ? I know we do not have money to buy expensive tests or meds, One of our border collies got diabetes and I got the insulin at Walmart. We bought gallon cans of green beans, cases of chicken thighs, and canned unsweetened pumpkins. he ate one chicken thigh ( no fat) about a half cup - one cup of green beans as there are hardly any carbs in them and one teaspoon of pumpkin. If I put in too much I could tell his sugar was high because I could smell it on his breath. He got two meals a day with insulin. His downfall was that he got some sort of flu and we had to put him to sleep. Diabetes causes a low immune system. We are seniors and money is less than tight but we have to keep them going as I would want to get my meds to be kept going. He is a beautiful terrier and I know how deeply you all love him. This dog I have now that I'm sure of Cushing's is hungry ALL the time. Do the vet meds curb the appetite? Thanks
my dog same thing drinking lots could hold it for hours now we put down puppy pads and she goes on them if were sleeping or she has to go pee we got her on vetoryl my dog is 8
Hey brother, I just wanted to say thank you for this video. I know its an older one but I just stumbled across it today. Long story short I am a combat veteran and around 5 years ago I got a white Alaskan husky that I wanted to train as my service animal for my ptsd and anxiety. Well that didn't work out because I wasn't allowed to bring her to work with me because at that point she was emotional support animal on paper do to her not being trained. She started getting sick a few days ago so I took her in today and found out she had a UTI and diabetes. I feel so bad because I work 60+ hours a week for a company that wouldn't let me do what I needed to do to have her at work. I committed so much time to my job that I didn't walk her as much as I should. She has always been there for me. She is by my side from the time I get home until the time I get up for work. I spend more time with her than I do my wife. I am beating myself up now after finding out she is diabetic. It's hard to imagine my life without her but I'm am fully committed to ensuring her diabetes is handled from this day forward. I think I am going to be making some changes in my life and not focusing so much on a company that didn't support me. Not blaming them just saying I have given them my life and put everything not at work to the side including my health, my family, and my dog. Sorry for the novel but when you were talking about people that can say "just put them down" and how defensive you were for your animal. Some people will never understand the bond we can have with our animals, and how much our animals support us. Have a great night.
Hey, I'm sorry to hear about everything going on. Thank you for serving. Most of my family was / is in the military. It's so hard for people to break out of the job BS. I have been making that change. I love my job but at the end of the day, it's a paycheck and they will take advantage of you. I'd rather be with my dogs. I do spend more time with my dogs than my wife as well. Kind of funny. Whatever. I get how some people will say it's just a dog. To me it's the opposite. You will never find truer love and loyalty. You know this already. Don't beat yourself up over it. Your dog doesn't see it that way. They are grateful you are there for them after work and in the morning. Unfortunately Jack passed away (my boy in this video.) Maybe 4 months or so after I made it. My female German Shepherd woke me up around 2am and ran downstairs. She was letting me know Jack was having a problem. He was convulsing. Anyway, I held him tight and he died in my arms. I know that is very sad but there couldn't have been a better place and I was with him. My girl Shepherd is laying next to me now as I type this. Without her Jack would have died alone and I would have hated myself for not knowing. We have Shepherds now again. Severely loyal, as all dogs are, but these guys are extreme. I wish you well. You have a great heart.
No no no, my dog is diabetic and has cushions They put a libre sensor on her I would download it everyday and the doctor would tell me how much to up it. Its Toujeo Human Insulin. I take her once ever 3 months and last time her number was 6.8. anything under 10.0 is considered good but the magic number is 6.5. So my dog is doing good. Again, buy the Libre Sensor and you dont have to take your dog for A blood test.
I am very very sad hired that bad news your baby's absolutely angels My dogs Yorkshire got this disease he is 14 years old my baby and I was deviated when he got the cushings disease with diabetes, we used the proscribed medication with a urine infection and our dog was fainting, being sick and was suffering and my wife felt like the best option was to put him down but I stopped her and got bought adrenal harmony gold medicine off the Internet from America that people have recommended and over the past 10 days our dog has progressed rapidly he's not been sick, fainted and he has become more active and doesn't suffer as we give him 8 units of insulin for his diabetes but with that I give him black seed oil, turmeric and cinnamon in his food and bitter melon which helps so hopefully everything goes good as we visit the vet but if his sugars are high my wife suggests we use a small dose of the proscribed medication again to control his sugars. I will share my experience with you when I get some news.
i'm sorry to hear this news. good luck to you. i'm glad you were there to help him. Jack is doing well, on the cushings meds and the insulin, 4.5, daily. he is blind now unfortunately due to the diabetes. he has learned how to roam the house without vision but it is still sad. i tried castor oil in his eyes for 3 months and that did nothing. people say it removes cataracts. maybe it's too late for him. he will be 13 in a few weeks.
hmmm i'll have to look into it but Jack is still with us after 2 years, as are many other dogs in the world. i looked high and low for natural and looks like CBD oil is great for diabetes and possibly cushings. now that it's legal, he gets that as well....few drops a day.
CHECK THIS LINK FOR THIS ONLINE PHARMACY. I found this place for cushings meds...trilostane. so much cheaper and WORKS! THEY ARE LEGIT! you need a prescription from your vet. www.cfspharmacy.pharmacy/trilostane-tablets-compounded
God Bless You. Of all the UTube presentations on Cushing...you are the only one who is direct and honest. My best to you always,
Joy
Thank You
I use cushex for my dog. Works great in conjunction with melatonin and HMR lignans. 2 years and she's still going great.
great
Melatonin?
Dosages per weight please if you can help thank you 🙏
Oh, I just saw a post you replied to someone and said he passed away. Jack lived longer because you took care of him. So sorry for your loss.
yes he did. thanks Lynnda. I never gave up on that boy.
You are an awesome human being
May god bless you all
Thank you
same to you
Yes you helped me greatly, I appreciate the compassion you express for your doggies. They are special and God knew we would need them. I personally believe if we know the lord Jesus, we Will see them again. 🙏 Thank you so much for the insight.
welcome
Love that your dedication to your dog x
thanks. love your dedication to your's as well. they're our babies.
This is great news ! My doggie is seven and we just found out he has Cushings ... Thank you for giving me hope !!!
Glad it was helpful!
Much love!💝🤞
sorry to hear this, yes, I know how it is...it was a rough 2 years. limited on money myself but I cut corners where I could.
Cooper is on meds now luckily I have a friend who can claim cooper and get us 75% on vet bills and meds through her vet clinic.
thanks and I wish you luck. it's hard to see them go through this. these guys are family.
This was the best video on the subject. Thanks so much
Dogs are awesome. I'd do anything to give them more time on this earth.
ME TOO. The one thing I will always remember from when I was a kid, my aunt said, no matter how much more time you get, it will never be enough. she is right. 40 years wouldn't be enough.
Dogs give you unconditional love! I to love dogs and know where your coming from ( part of the family). Wish you the best with Jack.
Thanks Richard. yep
Thank you so much for your help ! I will definitely check the site for her medication. Best wishes to You & Jack.
She's my best bud no sleep two weeks as she sleeps with me and coughs all night..........
they did a blood test. sorry to hear about your girl.
I would rather spend it on corals!!
welcome! that online pharmacy is awesome! love them
Thank you for making this video.
Sorry to hear about your girl. We went through it for the last 3 years of his life. Jack passed away a year after this video.
@@ROTTERtube thank you. I’m sorry to hear about Jack passing over. Just, know, that you’re video is still helping people out here, all because of Jack. :)
@@sudssanity2002 thank you
The weakness in the legs is from the diabetes.
@@ROTTERtube very sorry to read Jack passed away. He was blessed to have you as his family. Thanks for the video.
Jack is beautiful
Good bless you sir
Lov how you gently rock your dog. Thank you for the information 💛
You are so welcome!
@@ROTTERtube do not get the generic type, it doesn't work as well, according to my University of Penn Vetenarian
Thank you for this video. Just starting to deal with this but unsure if the diagnosis is correct. Lots of questions...
Thank you so much for your help. My Dogo that I love more than people has just gone through the 8 hours of testing. I am waiting for results. ♥️
you are welcome! that's why i made the video. good luck!
Thank you for posting this. It's a big help.
You're very welcome!
I read olive leaf extract helps with diabetes and lignans for cushings. Worth looking into it. Thanks for sharing great info.
I read that same. thanks for watching
Good video. Exactly the same process with my dog, except for the diabetes. Thank you.

Great video, very informative. My little Mattie is like Jack. Never leaves my side and I'd do anything for her. Jack is in the best of hands.
Thanks Phil
Vetoryl almost killed my Shih Tzu. I wouldn't use that again. Look at the video I added below of Dr. Judy Morgan speaking about the dangers of Vetoryl.
I'm sorry to hear that.
How is he doing now?
Hi, unfortunately Jack passed away about 3 years ago. Thanks for asking.
Sorry for your loss 🥲❤️. How long did he last after being diagnosed with Cushing’s and diabetes?
Can you give Vetoryl capsules along with herbal drops, vitamins, minerals?
I'm not a vet but I don't see why not.
my vet recommended using the Cushex in conjunction with the Vetoryl - 10mg
that's what i did but got vetoryl online at a vet pharmacy. see link. much cheaper and same stuff.
Sir...good day...what do you feed your dog with cushing? My dog has cushing too...and his liver is affected
Fed him food by the co. HONEST KITCHEN. really great stuff. I'm sorry to hear about your dog. It's a tough road for sure but since you love him/her it's easier.
Thx 4 ur video. My dog has been diagnosed w/cushings. Still deciding which way 2 go. Thx 😊
Same thing with my Roxie before she was diagnosed. Our little Roxie is diabetic as well now. She takes her shots like a champ now.
:)
Melissa
I gave Jake HONEST KITCHEN and our dogs now get ORIJEN with RAW food as a small topper. I won't use anything else.
Steve,
Listening and watching this video was difficult for me personally because we lost our Jack Russell terrier last year to Cushings.
My brother just put his dog of 16 years down, 2 days ago.
hi steve just came accross this video again ... my 12 year old border terrier bella has just been diagnosed with diabetes she is now on insulin twice a day so heart breaking after i just had to say goodbye to my other dog sukie after 15 years
Hi, so sorry to hear this news. Jack was on insulin twice a day for the last 3 years of his life.
its such a shame for them were just getting used to it as its only been a couple of weeks
I agree completely dogs are way better than most humans . Hope he is ok and lives a good couple of years . I love how you are rocking him like a baby its the same thing i do with mine (the terriers not the bullmastiff ) please keep us updated on how he's doing 🤞
Thanks Mandy I will
My 110 ib girl was just Diagnosed with Cushings , I found it and had her tested! I’m scared on how much it will cost me!! But I will find away.
sorry to hear the news. I put a link to the place I used online. I get no kickbacks for posting it...it will save you a lot and it's a legit pharmacy.
Thanks!
Thanks Wil. I hear ya. I try not to think of the money. Jack has not had any issues in life so I guess he's making up for lost time.
Thank you. Sweet Jack is lucky to have his family.
thanks. Daisy is very lucky as well
Hi, I just found this video.
I agree, animals are better than people
Thanks for the info.

Love animals more than people too ♥️🐾. My fur baby was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Now I fear he has cushings 💔
I didn't know any of this stuff and I found it so really interesting and I love animals for the same reason as you they are so loyal and a lot more loyal than any human being 😻🤗
a lot to learn and i'm still researching
Rescue dogs make the best pets.
sorry to hear. similar to my story with Jack.
Amazing info. thank you.
No problem!
Hi, I see this video was from April 2017. Did you do a followup video on how your sweet dog did on the meds and how he is doing?
Hi i can do a follow up video on how he did.
I'm so sorry, I know how hard it is, been there for about 3 years with Jack, in this video.
so sad for you and your doggie kid,, mines going thru this cushings was just diagnosed, its so sad to see her spin in circles and be miserable, its so hard on me and her, makes me cry
so sorry to hear the sad news. if you are going to use the cushings meds i highly suggest the online pharmacy for the meds. they are 1/4 the price and work really really well ..... it's the same stuff! i left a link in the video description. i don't make a penny on any sales....just me spreading the word. good luck. i know it's sad.
thanks so much, she has improved a bit but not the way she was, but only been on the meds a little over a month.. shes on what your dog was on,, Our vets price isnt to bad for the month at 55 dollars rounded off then her anxiety meds to keep her calm cause she gets to running circles really fast at times and when she walks she goes in circles. , ill check out online as well, hope your dogs doing well still. my dog is 12 and her bday was on sept 14th its like once she turned that age , then boom she just got sick,, yes very sad to see her go to a lively , talkative smart dog to being in such a mess.. my heary goes out to you as well
i'm paying $60 for 2 months worth.
No change.
Thank you for the video
welcome!
Hi there. Didn´t Vetoryl make him vomit and reject food at first??? Thanks
Not at all
My mini pin has cushings. He has had it 2 years. He is on vetoryl. Yes it is expensive. I hope he doesn't get diabetes
I'm sorry to hear this. I know what you're going through.
hi, I have a question.... my boo-boo was diagnosed with diabetes, but he's got every text book symptom of cushings as well
but the vet isn't listening
his back legs are so weak
i will demand a cushings test
I'm wondering if the muscle weakness will return through the cushings treatment
do you know?
thank you
get another vet or at least a 2nd opinion. my dog has cushings. he's on the meds and his hind legs were fine after a few weeks on the meds. if your gut is telling you cushings, then follow it. my dog has cushings and diabetes. he's going great except for the fact he is losing his sight rapidly from diabetes. just happened this week. look at the link in my video description for the online pharmacy i use for cushings meds. instead of $120 a month i am paying $30 thank God. so glad i found this place. many people use it. its' the same as what the vet sells but much less and generic.
irish K Awe, we both have Boo-Boo's w/boo-boo's. My Boo-Boo has early A-typical Cushing's syndrome. God Bless you both.
I know that pain all too well.
so sorry for your loss! 😭❤🐕
that's right. we are rich in our own right
Thank you for this video, it was very informative.
Sorry you're going through this. I was selfish and kept Jack with me until the end. He died in my arms, and it was terrible.
my dog has Cushings,,, what I want to know is ,,, is there any pain,,, and if so what can I give him
there may be some pain, but how much, i'm not sure. there is heavy panting. cushings meds are expensive each month....like $120 a month! i included a link where i get a 3 month supply for $60 or something like that. i don't see commission or anything. i just included it to help. it's a legit pharmacy and they require a prescription from your vet.
I believe that flea-tablets can cause -trigger Cushing's Disease in some dogs.
@@rakeshhubert3031 thank you! You helped us solve our dog's problem. Bring truth into the light.
My 7 year old Maltese was just diagnosed with Cushing after her blood work came back with a liver count of over 5,000 and thyroid low. 😢
:(
thank you so much for sharing this information. we are just starting this journey as my doxie had blood work done prior to dental cleaning that showed the liver enzymes elevated. she has the loss of hair, excessive drinking water, lethargy, and weakness in hind legs.... more testing needs to be done, however in the interim I am thinking I should start her on something herbal (like the cushex)...
@@ROTTERtube thank you. no diabetes.
My miniature schnauzer who is 9 years old developed diabetes 6 months ago.. looking at all the Cushing's videos I'm thinking he does have Cushings to..
Going in for the test
I have his mother she's 13 and she's been showing Cushing signs for the last 3 months I didn't realize it till today when I watch the videos I was wondering what was wrong with her I thought it was a side effect from her heart medicine she's pretty miserable and she shakes, drinks a lot pees a lot and she is ravenous with food. Paces ALL the time.. she does not have any of the other symptoms though.
Thank you for the video it was good lot of good information
thanks, and good luck to you, I know it's hard to deal with but we do it because we love them
@@ROTTERtube yes they are my family 💖
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.Good luck with your dog!!!
i'm glad you found the video. there were no reactions to the meds at all. check the link i put in the video description for the online pharmacy i use. they are legit! vets use them. it will save you a ton of money! you will need a prescription to use them. your vet can fax one over to them. they send the meds to me monthly. through the vet it was $120 a month! i can't afford that. i think i'm paying about $40 a month via the site. good luck.
Thank you!
welcome
I had a dog who lived to almost 16 with Cushing he went on vetoryl right away didn’t turn into diabetes he was a min pin he was diagnosed young he had Spinosa they steroids is what probably got him he passed due to glaucoma and his lung problem was getting bad
sorry for your loss. Jake passed away maybe a year after this video. He died in my arms at home.
@@ROTTERtube omg sorry that why we got to love them as long as we can then share the love with others that’s what I did we have 2 yorkies they both have problems and are young but I don’t count them out never know how long till they go home most of my dogs so far lived to 13-16
How is he doing today?
hey Lexie, Jack passed away unfortunately 3 weeks ago.
@@ROTTERtube ❤
Been using cushex now for three weeks but doesnt seem to be doing anything
Maybe a different does is needed or something else is going on. Diabetes will cause loss of bladder control.
Been tested for diabetes and thyroid tests came back ok
is your dog adrenal or pituitary dependent?
pituitary. he's still with us. just turned 15. he has been having way more accidents in the kitchen where he sleeps. i upped the cushings meds by 25% and so far there's a big change. he doesn't go after water like crazy now. he was never stopping drinking. he took a turn for the worse. it was bad. just upped the meds a couple days ago. big difference. still on insulin as well for diabetes.
Try Chewy... their prices are pretty good and they deliver. Blood tests seem high. Try another vet.
i used an online pharmacy that was 1/4 the price. chewy is good. i use petflow for their food
It's now been over a year and a half ofdayregular daily dosing and office visits ($$) it's still about $200/month between the special food and drugs but she's still going pretty well, but now the alternate Cushing's symptoms (skin, hair loss, muscular atrophy) are staying to present, so... sigh
It recently began to be very difficult to get the Vetoryl capsules, but my vet found a source for compounded Vetoryl in liquid form that is a little less expensive than the capsules since we can get several months out of one bottle, plus, you can get the exact dose your pet needs.
FRACTION OF THE PRICE!
here's the online for online pharmacy for vetoryl i use. so much cheaper GREAT! TRILOSTANE.... www.cfspharmacy.pharmacy/trilostane-tablets-compounded
I'm with you on that I hate people....love animals lol
AMEN
I love my dog, but I can't afford $2k/yr for dog message. I will lose my house! I'm afraid I will lose my dog in a few years
Once they get this sick, it's a few years at the most.
Thanks
sorry
my dog same thing drinking lots could hold it for hours now we put down puppy pads and she goes on them if were sleeping or she has to go pee we got her on vetoryl my dog is 8
Sorry to hear this. There is a link in this video on where to get vetoryl much cheaper from an online pharmacy. Saved me hundreds.
@@ROTTERtube k thx i check it out
Hey brother, I just wanted to say thank you for this video.
We don’t deserve dogs.
most people don't. i spoil mine rotten because they deserve it
I believe that flea-tablets can cause -trigger Cushing's Disease in some dogs.
interesting i never heard that
No no no, my dog is diabetic and has cushions
They put a libre sensor on her
I would download it everyday and the doctor would tell me how much to up it. Its Toujeo Human Insulin. I take her once ever 3 months and last time her number was 6.8. anything under 10.0 is considered good but the magic number is 6.5. So my dog is doing good. Again, buy the Libre Sensor and you dont have to take your dog for A blood test.
Never heard of that. I'll have to look into that, if I ever go through this again, and I hope I don't.
@@ROTTERtube Yes put a Libre Sensor on your dog, the vet has to do it for 10 days. My dog has used it about 8 times and it has helped so much.

Please remember BIG PHARMA does have its greedy hands in our pet melds too. Alt med does work.
yeah i know. in pets and humans
This Vetrol is a death sentence for your dog as it killed my Dachshund which give her kidney failure..Find an alternative
hmmm i'll have to look into it but Jack is still with us after 2 years, as are many other dogs in the world. i looked high and low for natural and looks like CBD oil is great for diabetes and possibly cushings. now that it's legal, he gets that as well....few drops a day.
Trilostane is not a chemo drug. You were thinking of Lysodren.
true, Trilostane is not a chemo drug, and is safer than Lysodren which is an older cheaper drug with many side effects. Not recommeded
Insulin is given in units and not cc’s
you know what i mean
