Why do you call the city Harp Jai when it's called HadYai.
Older generation of Malaysian and Singaporean pronounced Hat Yai as "Hup jai" I don't exactly know how it arises. Somehow I am unable to twist it back to its proper pronunciation after calling it wrongly for so many years, along with many people .
hat yai is not pronounced as HUP CHAI idk where u learnt that from but it is wrong
"Hup jai" is what the older generation of Singapore and Malaysian call that
interestingly, this is what i just googled. This is in Chinese though...." 為什麼這裡也叫：Hap Zai？他們說大概是『客家話』的叫法。終於解鎖了我這個多年來的困惑 "
