    Forgiveness is so very misunderstood. As a former Roman Catholic I can say that asking for forgiveness of my sins all the time was a nightmare. I was always feeling the guilt and never seeing any hope. After reading the Bible and getting saved in the book of Romans I realized that there was nothing I could do for my salvation. JESUS had done it all. I saw and believed. All I could do was say Thank You JESUS and All Glory To GOD. All of my sins were gone, never to return. When I realized that all my sins were gone it was not that JESUS died again for my sins. HE did that a couple thousand years before. I had just come to the knowledge and understanding of what GOD had already done for me. My belief did not cause GOD to forgive my sins, it was there all along. The words on the page had been written and now I was reading them. Nothing I did put those words on the page. GOD had always forgiven me. I cannot, now, all of the sudden, say that because I believed that GOD then forgave me. Yes, I became aware. Yes, I understood. But, no way did the forgiveness happen because of something I did or added. First of all, GOD didn't need my help as he is perfect and capable. Secondly, if I did have to believe to be forgiven then it wouldn't be GOD doing the forgiving, it would have been me forgiving myself. Thirdly, my part was the one being forgiven. When a person forgives someone they are telling them that they are guilty. GOD is not the guilty one. I am the guilty one. Forgiveness is not how a person gets to heaven as the Roman Catholic Church professes. GOD forgave everyone to show that everyone was guilty. Anyone who accepts forgiveness is confirming their guilt. By accepting the guilt then GOD can bestow HIS gift of eternal life upon them. GOD proclaimed all forgiven so that all would be guilty. Only the ones who accept forgiveness are saved to eternal life.

    Since Adam was created did he have the righteousness of God? Equal to God? Did he not rebel against God?
    Would that show that he was not full of God's righteousness? Now a sinner by choice? Sin needs to be removed right?
    If sins are removed does that make him as righteous as God now? He still lacks God's righteousness right?
    Who now imputes the righteousness man needs? A gift right?
    Did Christ pay for the sins of Adam and the descendants? Did he shed His blood once? Pay the debt owed?
    Does he have to pay it again when a person now understands what He did at Calvary? Or is it that the person
    now understands that Christ already paid for his sins at Calvary? Is it not about what we think versus what God has
    already declared to be true to Himself? Are we not alienated to God by our thinking? Is God alienated to us
    (world of sinners) by his thinking now that he removed sin by shedding his Sons innocent blood for the payment?

    What did Christ mean when He said on the cross “It is finished” in John 9:30?
    All sin has been paid for by the shed blood and death of Jesus Christ on the cross; therefore, all sin has been forgiven by God, but that doesn’t mean all people are saved. Only those that believe the gospel of salvation (1 Cor 15:1-4) are saved from hell and guaranteed Heaven when they die or are Raptured.
    Like God did for us, you can forgive someone who trespasses or sins against you, but it doesn’t do them any good if they don’t know they’re forgiven and receive the forgiveness.
    It is illogical to be Ambassadors for Christ, preaching to the world to be reconciled to God by believing the gospel, if all of the world’s trespasses have not been paid for and forgiven by God at Calvary.
    God is not imputing the world’s trespasses against them because He imputed them all to His Son on the cross.
    2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
    2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

      A gift, salvation, can’t be there to give unless it had first been purchased. The debt of sin was paid. A paid debt is a forgiven debt. You don’t go back and make another payment. You will have to get the title/receipt. To get the receipt of what has been purchased you have to believe it was purchased.

    John 16: 7-12 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth, It is expedient for you that I go away, for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now." The Comforter, the Holy Spirit is still reproving the world of sin today. No one is forgiven of their sin until they believe that Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again for their justification. Believe the gospel and THEN receive all the blessings that God has given you in Christ.
