I know you did this years ago but I just seeing it now. Very soothing to watch at 4 am! And I want a cup now! It’s a lovely painting! I love the splatters. Very appropriate to have messy splatters with this subject. 👏🏻👏🏻 👏🏻
Thank you so much! I had trouble with mixing the correct colors for the shadows. But i learned a lot from this tutorial. I started my watercolor journey two months ago. English is not my first language i can easely follow your tutorial!
So many good tips. You’re a very good teacher Lindsay. So good to hear your thought process as you go. I love the organic-ness of this painting. It’s beautiful. Thank you again for sharing your talent.
I need to re-visit my efforts and try and improve on them...this video has brought this thought forward...look back and improve on previous work. Thank you... you are inspirational!
Love the way this turned out! Makes me want to be more adventurous with my papers. Thank you for all your tutorials. I have learned so much from you. Georgia Gunn
r I missed seeing your first painting. I couldn't decide if I liked the loose style. I had my first emotional reaction to a painting; I felt edgy and squirmy. But when you brought the first version the difference was undeniable. The coffee came alive. I live in rural Virginia and the closest 'Cafe' is a 30 minute drive over a mountain to McDonalds. I want a decent mocha latte!. To say the least you moved me.
"Makes you think of drinking coffee on the deck." Florida has been so hot this "Fall" that this was the first day that was cool enough to actually sit out back with my cup of Joe. So, come to FL!! It is finally nice.
LOVE rough paper!!! My favourite. Can't get fussy or detail-tight with it. Adds wonderful texture and a little unpredictablity to the brushstroke. Just says 'watercolour' more than any other paper for me. Have wanted that set of Mimik brushes for years since I first saw you use them but they're $117 on Amazon Australia and the Turner paints are $76....so might have to wait a bit longer....sigh... Bright and cheerful painting with lovely textures Lindsay! TFS!!
Loved this! I thought maybe you could you do a final comparison with your first "trial" painting at the end of your videos and discuss what you changed in your process the second time around? Kind of like you did during this video, when you talked about the background line. But at the end. Just an idea!
Nice job. i like it. I liken both coffee and cups! Jerry's, offers some bargains. For the red, what other color can you use if you don't have that red? Could you use a light red?
Nice cuppa Lindsay! When I did one similar I remember that sprinkled a little light and dark brown brusho in the cup for the coffee/cappuccino frothy top feel and it worked great and added a little fun. I only sprayed the area very lightly. Just thought I would mention in case you wanted to try if you do a similar piece again.
Oh wow. Really rough paper! I love rough paper. I love texture. And I was hoping for a tutorial with the Turner paint as well. It's my lucky day. I don't have many of those. So I'll just take it as my lucky day.😁 WOOHOO. I just found the Pacific Northwest set of M Graham for 27 dollars and ordered it. Trying to level up from Cotman as I can afford. Turner looks a good option. Thanks again Lindsay💜💜
Enjoy the m graham, they are still one of my favorites (They were my first pro set 20 or so years ago!) And I was just using them tonight! So good! There is a very affordable try out set of turners at Jerry's and if you keep your eyes peeled you can catch it when it goes on super sale (I've seen it for $20!) Currently is is $26
Annette Fournier... just wondering where you found the M. Graham set for $20??? Even if that price isn't available, I figure it would be a great place to shop. (hoping this was online) 😉
loved it, its been while since ive had a capuchino coffe, like that makes me want to have one with choclate sprinkels Mmmm. another thumbs up from me. :)
i liked how to show us how you mixed you colors i couldnt see what you was mixing :( i wanted to paint this but i cant becuese i can see the colors you mixing
Can I ask you guys a question? Do you think it’s worth it to spend money on nice-ish art supplies even if you’re not very great at making art and you’re only making it for your own pleasure?
@@danarenfand3384 A 1000 times yes. A rt is an expression of the soul. Often people worry or feel guilty about buying items that have emotional value. But if your art makes you happy, the people around will benefit too.
The hell pen sounds much worse then the furnace. Lol you are always worried about water pump and other household noise that mostly is back round sounds. Stay safe. Love to all

Hey Lindsey, Where did you get the green thingy on your eraser? Thanks!
It is a refillable eraser holder from maped. Try an office supply store or Amazon
Perfect!! 😍
Snow already??? Yikes.
