I didn't think these were so bad until it got to very long Jerry. Why is that so funny? Along with "Whoops started painting Tom the wrong colour, guess I'll just stop".
I've got to document online somewhere some really bad unlicensed cartoon art pics I've taken. I remember this daycare in North St. Louis had The Rugrats painted on the side of it but they were all very dark-skinned black, making them (especially red-headed Chuckie) look like they were wearing blackface. Down the road is a square smokehouse outside of a BBQ place that is painted yellow to look like a ghetto Spongebob (more like Spengbab with the painter's lack of skill.)
I once went to a daycare that used to have Fairly Odd Parents characters painted on the side when I lived in Weed, California. And yes they were a bit dark skinned (but not a whole lot) from what I can remember.
i went on a wacky worm before and the train i went on was just a greenish yellow lime color with closed eyes and of course, the smiling mouth with teeth, and it had a cigarrete end but with a lifting end for the tail.
Well he brought up Kennywood’s Thomas Town during a video of recycled pieces of coasters and mentioned the train at edaville twice though didn’t mention Thomas by name (although he did put up text saying it was the real train and not a dank meme refrence)
Last time I was there you couldn't drive the part of the track that actually went through the horse anymore. That was about 7 years ago so I don't know if they've reopened that part or not.
TPC still out here again and again with content 10x more creative and approachable than any other enthusiast channel. Keep it up Peter, you the real MVP 💯💯💯
_“What were they thinking with these train designs?”_ Yes, what _were_ they thinking?? I have absolutely no idea what they were thinking or even what they were smoking when they designed them!
I’ve been to Kennywood, growing up we always were going to all the giant theme parks. It was a really a nice change from those. It’s small and kinda nice when the weather is good.
The Drayton Manor faces for the Troublesome Trucks are pretty close to the show, where the face masks in use between 1986 and 2008 could be pretty creepy. Points for accuracy, I guess?
That last "unnamed" coaster is creepy as hell. I'm thinking it was designed to mimic the demonic face of my ex. Her likeness has sent more than a few grown men screaming into the night.
Glad to see someone do some research when covering something related to Thomas the Tank Engine. To be fair though, the Troublesome Trucks could have some hilariously unsettling faces in the show, much like the ride had. 😂
after watching this video, a demented part of my brain wants universal to add in one of those caterpillar coasters to super nintendo world, and have Waluigi's face on the train. That'd be cursed
The Roller coaster at Popeye village was my first ever roller coaster. The RCDB page is actually wrong and operated from the mid 90s onwards. It may have left and returned. I have a picture of me and my sister riding it in 1996/7 on a family holiday. It seemed huge to us at the time
Thanks for the story! I'd love to see that photo if you still have it 🙂. Photos of this ride are extremely rare. Feel free to send it to themeparkcrazy1992@gmail.com
Theme Park Crazy i will ask my parents to try and find it. If i can il send it across to you. Its such a clear, wonderful memory i have from childhood. The picture is great because im screaming and crying whilst my sister is totally stoney-faced and unimpressed by it all haha
LOL Madness! The picture at 1:24, with the lion statue, is my hometown of Reading, UK. It's the Winter Wonderland event In Forbury Gardens that is put on around christmas.
I remember 10 years ago, I was on holiday in greece and I saw a kiddy ride that seemed quite unsettling. It was one of those static train rides you usually see at supermarkets or shops. However, what made it unsettling was that it had a face which looked a lot like the face that was on the back of King Crimson's album "In the Court of the Crimson King". Not only that, every couple of minutes, it would have it's idle sound playing which sounded like a ghost train whistle as it had an echo effect in it. At least that's how memory serves me.
None of Gerstlauer’s kiddie coasters I’ve known of have had incidents. Sure, Puff the Little Fire Dragon at Lagoon killed a kid and Gulf Coaster at Six Flags Great America caught fire a few times during opening year (which is why it closed that same year), but both are by different manufacturers.
i actually remember riding the troublesome trucks ride when I was young. I didn't think the carts looked bad but now looking back at it years later I see the scariness in it. Not going to lie but the ride is actually pretty good for young thrill seekers, I consider it
The family fun center my parents occasionally took me to in Oklahoma back during my 90s early kidhood had a realistic Miner Mike, so it's hard not to see that dopey grin and not think of happy memories of what feels like an alternate universe compared to now.
Another awesome video and a fun idea. #1 was truly an awful train design. It looked like Spongebob after years of rotting 😂. The other ones that stood out to me was Fruit Worm Pulley which looked scary and odd and the Pinocchio coaster which both featured a creepy mouth and a nose that did not look kid-appropriate.
Fruit-shaped Pulley's train has red pupils because they're relatively common on Chinese dragons, especially the big puppet ones used in parades and plays. Which are what that train is based on. I honestly find the Pinfari clown just genuinely goofy.
So moral of the story is stay away from children's coasters. Especially ones that have caterpillars, clowns, only existed for a few years, or are a wacky worm model.
Honestly Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster face is not that bad, its more awkwardly cute than creepy, maybe its just because I grew up watching enough Thomas the Tank Engine as a kid.
Yeah, same with me, someone who also grew up watching Thomas as a kid, and while I haven’t ridden TTRC due to not having been to the UK, I have ridden another coaster previously themed to Thomas, that being Magic Flyer at Six Flags Magic Mountain, the Coaster was named Percy’s Railway from 2008-2010. I remember marathoning that. The train looks decent enough, and it’s the only coaster I’ve been on with enclosed cars (or at least one).
One of the Six flags in california has a wackyworm, the park employees built new shells for the cars that looked like minecarts. No creepy worm or face just a old minelamp on the front.
Wow, miner mike looks so familiar, and I can't figure out why 2:01 WHAT? Thats Haunted Trails. a little arcade/mini golf place like 3 miles from where I grew up. So cool!!
Ah, the classic troublesome trucks (back when they were actually troublesome). As a fan of TTTE, I don’t find the trucks faces “creepy.” Not even when I was younger. This trucks faces on this ride are decently accurate...at least for the model series. But I believe in Massachusetts, their faces represent the CGI rendered faces.
Hey TPC! Are you planning to make a sequel for this sometime in the future? If so then I found a creepy looking train on a roller coaster called Sphinx in Greenland amusement park, Auro, Kumamoto, Japan. The train features a pharaoh's mask with a dead stare as if it has seen things the park doesn't want you to know and it can also look like that frightening police sketch of Derrick Todd Lee. I will definitely be thrilled for a sequel!
How are you going to point out Pinocchio’s smile, yet ignore that his nose is completely phallic?
Thank you. I was thinking to myself... "is anybody going to say it??"
Now I know where Chris from Slipknot got the idea of his mask from
OMG, I'm so glad that i immediately found this comment 🙏🏻
oh god you're right... they definitely did that on purpose
"they worked with the materials they had"
Is it just me or does the last coaster look like it's smoking something?
I just cannot unsee it.
It has a doobie in its mouth.
thats what i thought
Yeah, looks more than a joint than a tusk...
I was thinking the same thing 😂
Exactly what I was thinking.
Conclusion: kiddy coaster trains are scary

The problem: adults are making videos about riding rides for kids
The solution: make them so scary that only kids will want to ride on it

The designers legit just took the 👁👄👁 face and ran with it
It looks like Spongebob with horns and smoking a blunt.
It kinda does!
Id say it looks kinda like a crappy crack pipe. or meth pipe.
its fungus the bogeyman
that is creepy AF LOL
LMAO
I wasn’t expecting a jojo reference but I’m not disappointed
The thing you didn’t know you needed…
You gotta admit that a wacky worm probably has given a kid a nightmare before.
i was afraid of going on these things as a kid and it wasn’t because the track looked scary
Gave me one
Those teeth don’t belong on a worm.
i went on a wacky worm before and the train i went on was just a greenish yellow lime color with closed eyes and of course, the smiling mouth with teeth, and it had a cigarrete end but with a lifting end for the tail.
The Wacky Worm is funny!
He managed to make a boring video idea into a really entertaining video
Thanks! I admittedly had a bit of a tough time spicing this up, but I'm glad to hear people really enjoyed it 😀.

I blame Viacom and Nick pushing spin offs on him cuz they just don’t wanna let him die.
Finally a Thomas the Tank Engine reference on this channel! Thank you very much!
Well he brought up Kennywood’s Thomas Town during a video of recycled pieces of coasters and mentioned the train at edaville twice though didn’t mention Thomas by name (although he did put up text saying it was the real train and not a dank meme refrence)
7:46 Donald Duck after he first saw Daisy
9:34 Momo and Pinocchio had an affair
10:24 Spongebob got a lil bit high
How in the world did troublesome trucks made #6 that should be least creepiest..it’s just so meme worthy lol

The last one has a clear message:
Kids, don't do drugs!

Finally. That Pinocchio one scared the socks off of me.
Now that I think of it, the smiler train is probably just a troublesome truck that took some assortment of psychoactive drugs

•Olaf Caterpillar
