Yeah! And-If he takes to her, like he takes to his fishin' (& his Mountain Dew), he'd have it made! P. S.-Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! God bless!
O.K., you took us by surprise with this one. (pleasant surprise). I loved the way you put the narrative together, "you all watch the fishing portion, while I go set up camp , get firewood, etc" ! I used to camp with my family and my Scout troop (was an Asst. Scoutmaster for many years.) My son worked his way up to become an Eagle Scout. He joined the Air Force when he was 18 years. He has now served for nearly 25 years and counting. He has obtained the rank of Master Sargent (E7) and yes, I am very proud of him !!!!!! Hope you do more of these type of videos. I would like to see a campout when the temp falls below 30 degrees LOL! Been there, done that!!! Always love the WORD. Be safe. Randy B.
I'd only add one extra element, to what you just said about camping out, with Temperatures below 30 degrees. Snow! At least a few inches of that ol' White stuff. 3-5 inches...or something like that. Heighten the challenge even more! Let's see if Brother John is up to that. Whaddya think about my suggestion? Would that be too much?
Great video, John. A little different. Love how you always put the Word at the end of the video. Yellow perch are one of my favorite eating fish that are also a lot of fun to catch. Caught and ate them all the time when I lived up north. Unfortunately they dont seem to live here where I am now. Anyway maybe I will have to take a ride up there to catch some.
I love this kind of video. One of my favorite pastimes to just haul off and tent camp alone. I also love your Firestarter. I'm going to have to pick one of those up. Perch, Walleye, Sauger and such I believe the most delicious fresh water fish...mmmmm Thanks for sharing...
Coleman makes a very nice portable grill, griddle and wok combo, it’s propane. I really like mine. Might be a good addition! Thanks for another great video. God bless you!!
Just curious-Remember those little cans of Sterno, that used to be out on the market? I wonder if they still make those? They're easy to light, extremely dependable, and all you have to do to extinguish the flame, is to put the lid back on the container...very carefully, I might add! Those things would last for quite awhile, as I recall. When all else fails, grab ya a can of Sterno! Keeps ya warm, and cooks your food, too!
Beautiful lake nice perch Nice change up camping cooking eating never thought of sausage and fish as a meal but to each his own Nice video different format I like it
Good enhancement to your fishing adventures, John... nuttin' like eating what you catch & it's super fresh. You're a natural in the woods. Cheers from sunny Florida.
I grew up in Chicago. Every early fall perch come in close to the bank on Lake Michigan.. The locals have a ball sometimes using dual lines with bait they either bring or buy at little bait stores buy the lake. I left there in 1980 and the lake has become cleaner and now is a great place to fish right from shore for perch, walleye, salmon, northern pike and smallmouth. There are some good videos on this on RUclips.
Good stuff as always, John! Thanks for taking us along as we'll follow you anywhere!! :-) Hmmm...maybe thats your next motto : " Camp Anywhere, Camp Everywhere!! " :-)
3rd times the charm Mr. John!! P.S more catch and cooks in the future please and Thank You!! I think with the seasons changing and winter slowly approaching, ice fishing would be some great content I know myself and many others would love to see!! As always TIGHT LINES nd GOD BLESS!!!
Great new adventure brother man. I hope you keep these coming. Our guys group from church lives and breathes around campfires and firepits. And you're eating one of my favorites, either perch, crappie, walleye or cod. Bluegill are good eating too but you get fish chips off them. Love this new twist and trend, the only difference is I'm an air mattress commando. My back hates sleeping on Mother Earth but it's got 51 years on it. Blessings John
Enjoyed this video, you’re not very big into camping. The more you do it, the better you will get at it.Keep on making this type of videos from time to time.
Proud to see you eat some fish! I've been watching your channel since you had a real job LOL! and I think this is only the third time I've seen you eat any...and the second time was just a few days ago!
Hey I caught a 10lb bass today in a pond on my property today! Fished these 14 ponds for years and only got the occasional 4-5 pounder every now and again until today!
Awesome job, my husband subscribed year ago. Thought I would join the fun also.Always watch your videos, this one was great. Wish you would share your spots, lol love the scenery. More catch clean cook and camp. The 4 C's of living in Tennessee
Enjoyed the video very much John. A old Coleman stove that uses the liquid gas you pump up those are fantastic and last for years and years and Lantern also. Only the older ones that used liquid fuel they last so much longer.
Used to be a great place in elizbethton called frog levels to camp. Probably ask a local for directions. Even a natural pond up there. Two streams as well
Yep! If matches won't do the trick, try a blowtorch! (Hee hee hee)! THAT got the Ol' fire lit! The last time I went camping, I tried just a little bit of gas on some wood and charcoal. WHOOSH!!! 'bout burnt my eyebrows off (Hee hee hee hee hee)!!! But-It worked, and that was all there was to it! Whatever works, my man-Whatever works!
Really enjoying the camping and the catch and cook videos. Hope to see more of them to come. I was going to tell you to get you some cotton balls and a zip lock bag and put the cotton balls in the bag with some Vaseline and mix it up so all of the cotton balls are covered they make for an awesome fire starter just a helpful tip. I mean with all the tips and tricks I have learned from you just wanted to past you one back. Thanks and appreciate all you do and go through making your videos for us all to enjoy and learn from. Well till the next's one GodBless and Tight Lines.
Looks like a great time , don’t hardly ever see you catch and cook fish great video, eating what you caught , there is nothing wrong with that , eating what god let you catch and camping would be a great time , great video
Man, once I heard a horrible hissing struggle as I walked to my truck, and two possums fighting in a ball had rolled down the hill in front of me! Woke me up faster than black coffee! LOL
Gotta try to make and use a rocket stove. You could practice at home then make one on site camping. No more propane! Less stuff to tote! And they work great!
Man i havent had jumbo/yellow perch in a long time we used to use crawldad tails to catch them so much fun gotta go back wisconsin barker river silver lake oconomowoc hell even lake michigan guess i know my summer plans lol ty
Yellow perch are very tasty but of course they do not get very big . 10 inches is a decent size perch. 12 is is a monster. lol Caught like 30 of them one day in less than a half hr right before a storm. Yep, those fish can feel the rain coming and move to the shores to grab bug washed into the water by the rain from the shore.
Hey John , honestly i am more a fan of catch and release rather that catch and cook but i guess it ia just my thing . However i love the fishing and camping stuff and i woud like to ask you : is it safe to camp there ? I mean you know nowadays there are crazy people around us or maybe wild animals to be afraid of . That why i was curious.
Best way to eat those small Perch is to gut, head and scale them and then fry them up and eat them off the bone...like eating an ear of corn.
Praying John finds a good woman that loves the outdoors like him!!! He deserves one for sure
Yeah! And-If he takes to her, like he takes to his fishin' (& his Mountain Dew), he'd have it made!
P. S.-Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! God bless!
John! Just a guy in the woods with a torch, some wood and a pile of pork sausage and breaded perch LOL Man, it seems like a dream!

Next fire you build, take one of the sticks and clean the leaves away from the fire area. Once a fire starts, stopping it is almost impossible.

Gotta try to make and use a rocket stove. You could practice at home then make one on site camping. No more propane! Less stuff to tote! And they work great!
