An aquamarine sold as blue topaz to Charles Loloma earrings and from Pre Columbian gold appraised as bronze to Harry Bertoia pin worth a small fortune! I am learning so much I'm a retired Chef of 45 years in the industry and only recently have been dabbling in jewelry as a means to earn extra money buying goodwill blueboxes. I have been very lucky from getting one of a kind Bastain 1k necklaces to rare zultanite and diamonds for pennies. All four of these examples are simply fabulous, and I’m glad you were there to become their guardian, instead of someone with no sense of their true nature. I once bought a purported topaz of several carats, that just hit me wrong for being topaz…it turned out to be a flawless yellow sapphire. The experts don’t always know what they have.
Your generosity of spirit, in sharing lessons you have learned along the way is so appreciated. It is good to have book knowledge, but the instinct and sensitivity to feel the aura of a thing, and trust what you simply KNOW is a gift that will always serve you. Its good to have your rings checked once a year to ensure the prongs are intact and nothings loose or worn down. This is especially important with larger stones in 4 prong settings. Last thing you want is to lose a beautiful stone should one of the prongs be compromised.
Right! And look at the size of those prongs!!!!!! Plus platinum!!!

Funnt story my ex husband and i were passing thru a town called Deer Park, Ohio on our wya to spend Christmas of 2011 in his bosses home in Florence , KY. We ended up getting married in the Bankruptcy Court and the Mayor over there married us! Lol! We had only been dating for two weeks so we just eloped. Sadly it didnt work, but Ohio will always have a special place in my heart because of that! Hey maybe one day you and Jeremy might decide to move out here.
@@jasonadams8633 so i was also a seller on Ebay on and off since 2014. Anyway, i found a sterling blue topaz piece that was about 2 carats. It had a mark that said “ Nevada Mines” . Have you ever purchased such pieces before with similar hallmarks.
I believe they are from the silver Mines in Nevada. Quite interesting.
