This Skull is speaking my language. Ah, what a wonderful world for a Dapperling. Plenty of land to start with, fresh meat delivered to your doorstep, and a chance to start a cult to teach the ways of Aavak. Truly a paradise.
this is one of the most beautifull games ive seen, i loooove the pixel art in this res, and the footsteps remind me mechcommander and when they were excited about those so much. gotta get it!
Stone graves give more beauty points don’t bother with the wooden ones- making the stone graves gives you a lot of red ones. Sleep at night, you’ll gain energy faster when you go to bed.
This game looks awesome. Takes a simple concept like being a grave keeper, gives a beautiful art style, and the plot seems interesting too. Definitely keeping my eye on it.
This game really suits Aavak's playstyle, and I will definitely follow the would-rather-not-be gravekeeper's escapades. Lovely tour of the map so far. Hopefully there is enough content to make a good series. But, I don't mind waiting for the release version to see more, either.
Well, this genre of games are not usually my type of thing, but the concept is something truly original, I'll have to give this one a try. Thanks for bringing it to us, keep up the great work. :)
I'm pretty sure Dig is a reference to Diogenes (of Sinope), with that massive clay tub on its side. Also, super happy to see that you're playing this game!
I think Dark Aavack has secretly replaced Aavack. Just think about all the games he has been playing. That monster game, The zombie game, A game about being a cruel dictator for the good of humanity, End of the world simulator 3000 and worst of all -shudder- a game about cardboard. Now he is moving on to a game about being a gravekeeper with a sinister undead skull
I have to say this game looks and feels awesome. I love the dark humor and atmosphere. Also the art here is gorgeous. Can't wait to see more dapper graveyard stories :)
Yes!!! I've been following this game! So glad someone finally gets to play it so I can see! It's definitely on my list. Thanks Avak!!! Also I love the reference to Mort. I love that game.
Was questioning this game but seeing you playing and the fact it is for linux has just made me want it. Also love how you speak and get into character for the game. Really makes the viewer get more into the storyline along with you. :) dont stop and keep it up.
Aavak, I think I’m going to love the game and series, but (and this may only be me) I felt overwhelmed with everything you showed. I hope throughout the series you go into more depth about different mechanics of places throughout the town
Yup, just wanted to give a 'lay of the land' whistlestop tour in the first episode, as we're likely not to visit many of the places for a while outside of this episode; we'll be going into much more detail with the places we are actively involved with in following episodes :)
I loved punch club.! It was one of my favorite games and also one of the few games I've ever been able to start on PC and finish on my phone. It was clutch on a vacation that got a little too relaxing, lol
You have been reading my thoughts again, I have been playing the alpha (for what feels like days (it is so addictive!)) and all the while thinking this would make a great series for my favorite dapper derp'y dragon, I log onto RUclips and Here It Is! I am so Hyped for this game, both to play and to watch on your channel :D
It was bothering me until I saw it was made by the same people that made 'Fight Club'. You really see what they brought over from a completely different style of game.
You made me buy the ALPHA and im very happy with it so far! been playing some hours today. I got addicted by only watching your video, i have been thinking about this game like every day for a week now. and its really cozy game to play. Sometimes im just running around doing nothing because of tasks that i need to wait for the right "cycle" and I dont know what to do meanwhile i wait, I think that can be a bit annoying, I know there is alot stuff to do, but its a bit hard with no structure sometimes. but im still enjoying the game! haha
Im so behind because ive only just seen you've played this but im so happy you do! I watched your stardew valley series religiously and absolutely love watching this game so im over the moon for a series from you on it!
I love this game. It does everything so well. I have not beat it yet but I am not sure how you win at it. Church 50 and graveyard 175 we will see. Farming both crops and bodies, dungeon to explore , and zombies?!?! oh yeah this game rules.
Gotta wonder why nobody questions why the gravedigger always has so much meat (a luxury in the time period). He keeps no animals, hunting's illegal unless you're a noble, so where does it come from? It can't be corpses. ...Can it?
I just bought this game today and I'm excited to start this let's play because I absolutely loved your stardew valley series! You deserve way more subs with your charming personality and good choice of games :D
GK is coming out on the Switch this month! I've seen bits of videos but glad I found you in advance of getting this game. Quite fun to watch & enjoy your commentary -- thank you!
I felt like re-watching this, because I love it so much. It was when I first became interested in learning Cymraeg, though I’m not very good at languages. If there is any additional content, and/or it’s worth the time/RUclips cash, I would love another playthrough :-)
Aavak, the day symbols seem to be alchemy symbols, so they would reasonably be named the way our days are - after the corresponding astral body. So you clearly have Sunday (Sunday), Moonday (Monday), Marsday (Tuesday), and Venusday (Friday) but am not sure what the other two are supposed to be. Probably Mercuryday (Wednesday) and Jupiterday (Thursday) but they don't quite look like the typical symbols. The one looks more like the symbol for Taurus and you don't appear to have a Saturnday (Saturday) it seems. If it helps for commentary, I'd recommend calling them by that nomenclature. Fun fact, I use more or less the same system in "Thelema." 38D
Yeah, the names are slightly different depending on whether it's Romantic or Germanic, as to whether you use Roman or Norse deities. In Romantic: Domingo (Dominion / Sun), Lunes (Lunar / Moon), Martes (Mars), Miercoles (Mercury / Hermes), Jueves (Jupiter), Viernes (Venus), Sabado (Sabbath / Saturn) In Germanic: Sunday (Sun), Monday (Moon), Tuesday (Tyr / Mercury), Wednesday (Woden / Odin / Jupiter), Thursday (Thor / Mars), Friday (Frigg / Freya / Venus), Saturday (Saturn) The holy days of various religions follow this as well. So like Christianity is based on Jesus as the sun god, hence Sunday. Judaism is based on the ancient Saturnalian cult, hence Saturday sabbath. Islam is based on the cult of Venus, hence Friday. There's a religion (I think it's paganism) that has Wednesday as its holy day but I forget which one. Judaism and Islam also have a lunar calendar versus Christian solar calendar.
Oh man! This game looks like so much fun, I am gonna need to get that alpha when i have the money for it!! Also please do more episodes, I really wanna see how you choose to build out your character!!!
Don't think about what? I don't know what you are talking about... oh look at this delicious looking cut of meat in my inventory! Yes, this is how it goes
When a youtuber's voice matches the game they are playing
A game where you manage a graveyard and all its inhabitants? I can dig it.
lol XD
I wish I could disapprove xP
I doff my cap sir😃
I've been dying to get it
I’d kill for this game
The Dead Horse Tavern - it's unbeatable
FYI, the girl in the tavern is singing a song that is a take on a classic Marilyn Monroe song.
Gerry could be the last graveyard keeper who had failed... Somehow. That's why he knows everything about the job.
finally a game beside rimworld were i can be a cannibal and sell organs marvelous
steelsquid yes. Oh you mean in a game... Sure
steelsquid
did you miss fall out and elder scrolls? a few of them allowed/encouraged cannibalism and organ selling.
Azura Moonstar I know fallout 3 but what elder scrolls games?
with a side of fries Oblivion, Skyrim.
Don't forget "The Forest". In that game you can be cannibal too. ;)
Stardead valley?
Sounds cool to me
"oh theres another corpse waiting" ok why does this make me think "BRING OUT THE DEAD!" lol
"But I got better!"
“I think I may go out for a walk now,” gotta love monty python
I wonder if there will be an actual way to raise them as some form of powerful undead army... I'd love a game with a good necromancer.
Oh damn I wanted to hear your first reaction to the corpses, but still awesome!!
I like the writing already. "I am cheap labour." Oh grud, that cracked me up.
Aavak thank you very much for covering this game your style is perfect to relax to after a tough day. Keep being you and I'll keep watching.
Hi I just got this game I LOVE IT! No rushing, just taking my time. Awsome game.
Yeah, it's a fantastic gem :D
"Fantasy Graveyard Simulator"
... Well, that's new. >):^/
( Stares intently at the *DETAILS* on those mesmerizing sprites. )
I specialize in... Details
Stone graves give more beauty points don’t bother with the wooden ones- making the stone graves gives you a lot of red ones. Sleep at night, you’ll gain energy faster when you go to bed.
Love the video. The dialog from the characters are just the right level of snarky :)
Looooove the graphics.
The graphics are the most beautiful I've ever seen from pixel art. I'd get this game for that alone. The rest looks fun too.
Anyone just discover this game? 2023
Me in 2024 got it on the steam sale haha no idea what I am doing
This game looks awesome. Takes a simple concept like being a grave keeper, gives a beautiful art style, and the plot seems interesting too. Definitely keeping my eye on it.
Found out about this game randomly, looks so damn fun, I wish it had multiplayer because it definitely is something that would be fun with friends
this is magically nostalgic and serene
This game really suits Aavak's playstyle, and I will definitely follow the would-rather-not-be gravekeeper's escapades. Lovely tour of the map so far. Hopefully there is enough content to make a good series. But, I don't mind waiting for the release version to see more, either.
This looks so beautiful. I will have to save my pennies to buy it ASAP.
I loved it! I'm binge-watching all of it!!!
I hope you enjoy :D
I don't understand this "don't think about it" business. Dark Aavak would be so happy with the unlimited noms!
I can't say how much gratitude I have for getting hinted on such beautiful games I otherwise would have missed. Oh my, thanks a lot! ^^
Well, this genre of games are not usually my type of thing, but the concept is something truly original, I'll have to give this one a try. Thanks for bringing it to us, keep up the great work. :)
You're quite welcome :)
I'm pretty sure Dig is a reference to Diogenes (of Sinope), with that massive clay tub on its side. Also, super happy to see that you're playing this game!
Aavak keeping secrets from us. For shame. I require an amusing series by a Welshman as penance.
I want this game sooo bad! Can’t wait to play! Love this series!
Such wonderful meat pies we can make!
I think Dark Aavack has secretly replaced Aavack. Just think about all the games he has been playing. Now he is moving on to a game about being a gravekeeper with a sinister undead skull
This look like a nice game to watch you play, I also like pixel art in games.
I have to say this game looks and feels awesome. I love the dark humor and atmosphere. Also the art here is gorgeous. Can't wait to see more dapper graveyard stories :)
Seems like a perfect game to port to mobile/nintendo switch :)
It is done
Time traveler
If only the devs felt the same way and hadn't abandoned it
I am excited for this playthrough... I was DYING to watch a playthrough for this game :3
Yes!!! I've been following this game! So glad someone finally gets to play it so I can see! It's definitely on my list. Thanks Avak!!! Also I love the reference to Mort. I love that game.
I knew somebody had to have spotted the Planescape reference.
And those Signs are astronomus symbols which describe the planets.
Yeeesss please make a series for this! And I hope you continue to play this when the full version is out :D

Aavak make sure you do no sprint for a duration before speaking to an NPC or entering an event in the current version.
I love the pixel art style. Plus useing the pixel art style helps games age vary well.
Agreed. Having a strong style, rather than just trying to go for photo-realism seems to really help games remain pleasing on the eye.
Like watching grandpa with the t.v. remote, follow the bread-crumbs, get on with it. 😆
I loved punch club.! It was one of my favorite games and also one of the few games I've ever been able to start on PC and finish on my phone. It was clutch on a vacation that got a little too relaxing, lol
Wow... swamp iron is actually historically accurate to how the Brits got their iron in medieval times, from the bogs. Nice attention to detail.
Graphics - 10/10
Gameplay - 8/10
Plot - 5/10
Grammar - 0/10
But keep in mind that medieval grammar isn’t like modern grammar
i dare say . . . . . . . if you continue, this is going to be a coffee-drinking series. :-D
DisillusionedAcronym coffin drinking mayhaps c: ?
touche! :-D
If you can buy honey, you know what that (hopefully) means?
Mead! Lots and lots of mead! 😁
the voice acting on that skull is amazing! imagine someone actually did that!
I took a very short amount of time for me to fall in love with this game! :)
This music reminds me distinctly of those "hardwood" PC card games. Hardwood Spades, Hardwood Hearts, etc.
I already love this game. I hope that another episode will come soon! ❤
OMG Mort from planescape torment that talking skull guy from the mortuary which I like to think is where he got his name
This game's release made the word "Sard" be searched for more than it ever has been in googles history.
Bishop catches necromancer in the act, other necromancer looks down and says, “ Gee, I’m glad he didn’t see ahead of time”.
This looks really interesting. Gorgeous, too. I'm now hoping that the innkeeper makes Deckard Cain jokes :)
Tim Dedopulos perhaps if you stay a while and listen?
You have been reading my thoughts again, I have been playing the alpha
(for what feels like days (it is so addictive!))
and all the while thinking this would make a great series for my favorite dapper derp'y dragon, I log onto RUclips and Here It Is!
I am so Hyped for this game, both to play and to watch on your channel :D
Pov: u haveoneeverything in stardew valley and start looking for something similar
Getting the itch to play this again. Haven't played since time of release and i had no idea it got DLC so time to binge and dust off my corpse lol.
Enjoy!
The soundtrack sounds beautiful.
It was bothering me until I saw it was made by the same people that made 'Fight Club'. You really see what they brought over from a completely different style of game.

I like the art style and it seem to have a lot of promise.
Yessss!! This game looks so good!!
"juice press" right... lol looked more like a moonshine still to me
Im so behind because ive only just seen you've played this but im so happy you do! I watched your stardew valley series religiously and absolutely love watching this game so im over the moon for a series from you on it!
I'm really happy to hear you're excited to see the series, it's one I found fantastically fun to play ^^
Love it when Welsh people say "Valley".
Great video Aavak!
I love this game. It does everything so well. I have not beat it yet but I am not sure how you win at it. Church 50 and graveyard 175 we will see. Farming both crops and bodies, dungeon to explore , and zombies?!?! oh yeah this game rules.
I'm really looking forward to this thanks for showing us
Wait, so he got isekaid by truck-kun?
I must have this game!
Seriously though. I really like the art style, the game looks so colorful.
Yesssss! I loved your Stardew Valley LP, I know this will be amazing! Thank you for all you do!

"that is a graveyard game"
Gotta wonder why nobody questions why the gravedigger always has so much meat (a luxury in the time period). He keeps no animals, hunting's illegal unless you're a noble, so where does it come from? It can't be corpses. ...Can it?

Omg the skull’s text sound. It reminds me of Sans from Undertale.
Man this game looks fun, can't wait for them to finish it.
Hurrrray! Cant wait for the next episode 😄
This game shows promise, keep up with the videos!!
oh now this looks interesting. Be keeping an eye on this lets play!

The days are, according to the game wiki, names of 6 of the 7 deadly sins.
well i am already just on the graveyard shift so ... I guess it fits like a glove. :)
That donkey would enjoy animal farm...
More please, this looks fun!
Oh man! This game looks like so much fun, I am gonna need to get that alpha when i have the money for it!!

Don't think about what? I don't know what you are talking about... oh look at this delicious looking cut of meat in my inventory!
Yes, this is how it goes
every time the woman speaks i hear croissant
Your voice is very fitting! I like it!
Thank you :)
So Horadric ,the guy who create the Magical Cube thing in Diablo is actually a bar keeper lol
This game looks awesome.
First time watching you and I already love it
Feels like the start of an isekai anime.
