Pralines should not have peanuts.
Only pecans. Similar to toffee, but the sugar is crystalized or grainy.
Thanks for sharing. We were not sure at the time.
I’ve had them with peanuts, walnuts or pecans. But pecans are the original nut that goes in them
Praline shops offer variety of options including the standard pecan praline
Pralines are more traditionally done with pecans.
They were so moreish! Thanks for sharing. We didn't know what was in them at first.
The taste of honey varies widely because it is made from pollen of different plants. The type of flower comes through in the honey.
The taste of honey does vary according to the type of flower but it is made from the nectar not the pollen. The bees use the pollen to make food that contains protein. They eat the honey for energy.
@@michaelairheart6921 thank you for this because I was like wait a minute honey isn’t made from pollen it’s made from nectar, which is The sugar that the flower produces to attract pollinators. The pollen is what the pollinator moves from flower to flower.
Big time..i don't like wildflower honey but love orange blossom and other honeys
Very true,
Surprised that beignets were not tried. They are a desert staple in New Orleans
We tried them in a separate video! Everybody told us to try them while in New Orleans, so we thought they deserved a stand alone video! here's the link ruclips.net/video/NrmIHI5c_WM/видео.html
I was going to say the same thing…beignets with chicory coffee at Cafe du Monde’s…haven’t had since 1972!!
Listen here's a secrete, when you go to a town or city to do a food tasting make sure you first ask the locals where's the best place that serves the best food you want to try! They might tell you different places for each type of food, but that's alright. Just because it's a fancy place doesn't mean you'll try the best in town. Ask the locals first!
Alright but Brennan's is literally the most famous restaurant in Nola
Brennans is well known therefore touristy.@@nullakjg767
umm ... Brennan's invented bananas foster regardless of whether random local yokels you happen to run into recommend it
@@Marcel_Audubon Yeah and the locals in NOLA are more likely to rob you then recommend great food lol.
Of course.@@Marcel_Audubon
You guys really must try peach cobbler while in the south it's unbelievable
Thanks for the suggestion... We will soon! watch this space..
I've never had bread pudding. Which is surprising, considering my obsessive, stalker-like adoration of peach cobbler.
Light, warm and fluffy biscuits with butter and grape jam are beyond wonderful.
Banana pudding with whipped cream and nilla wafers... oh... I gotta lie down now. It's just after 2am and it's not appropriate to eat stuff like that now. But I did make key lime/whipped cream pie for my brother's birthday and there had better be some left.
Have y'all had pancakes? Like the kind you get at a diner, waffle house or IHOP? Marvellous stuff. Or peanut butter with pancake syrup? Mix one tablespoon or slightly less of peanut butter (Jiff creamy PB is best) and enough syrup to make the mixture runny, then dip it up with bread. Don't make too much or you'll have more than you can deal with and a mess to clean up to boot. I know some people use honey for the mixture but I didn't care for it. Either way, I call it Hillbilly Fondue. 😊
Pralines are not my thing, because they always have pecans in them, in Texas, and I hate pecans.
You need a peach cobbler from a dutch oven
Traditionally, for banana pudding you made a meringue from the leftover egg whites and used that for a topping instead off whipped cream.
Thank you
I don't put any whipped or meringue on top . . . just vanilla wafer crumb....I use evaporated milk in the pudding - that's my secret! It is SOOO YUMMY!
I think it’s a personal/regional thing. My Mississippi born and raised parents never added a meringue.
My sister does now though when she makes hers. 😂
Not in Texas. I’ve never seen meringue used and I’m a nanner pudding fanatic. We put it on custard pies though.
@@johnnyhancock76 meringue is traditional even in Texas as I have lived there for 7 decades. Restaurants rarely do it because it is more difficult and has a shorter shelf life.
Hey y'all. You could make Southern baked banana pudding. It is topped with meringue not cream.
That's a great suggestion! Southern baked banana pudding sounds delicious.
Exactly. Traditional banana pudding should be topped with meringue.
@@TanukiOfficialuh no it’s not..
@myibook141 Uh. Yes, it is. 🤣
@@TanukiOfficial I have a cook book from the late 1880s that says different
Thank you for coming to New Orleans and representing Louisiana for us. Everyone thinks of gumbo, crawfish, and fried chicken, but we are so much more than that. We wear pride on our sleeves for our food.
We really enjoyed ourselves! it was our pleasure..
Bananas Fosters over Belgium Waffles is amazing!
Not to toot my own horn. But I'm a retired chef and banana Foster's over Belgium waffles was one of my creations and it was a momumental favorite.
That does sound delicious!! We just wish the Banana's were a little more caramelized. But i suppose everyone's taste is different.
@thebritstry
The bananas were absolutely caramelized. You see, caramelized, when talking about a fruit or vegetable, doesn't equate to crispy.
When a food contains natural sugar you apply heat to develop those natural sugars into the brown color and nutty flavor of caramel. Typically that results in a firm fruit or vegetable ending up softer. Caramelized onions for instance get brown, taste sweeter, and their consistency is essentially wilted. Caramelized bananas would also soften as the heat breaks down the sugars, almost artificially ripening them.
While the sauce was caramel, that is also syrupy not crunchy, it thickens, but doesn't harden when it cools.
What you seem to be describing as what you expected a caramelized fruit to be like sounds more like glacé fruit (bananas in this case) which is coating them in a sugar syrup that crystallizes when it cools, giving it a crunchy texture.
I think this is just a case of misunderstanding what caramelization means and forming expectations based on that misunderstanding. Nothing wrong with that, mistakes happen, but as someone who has worked in kitchens for decades there I can, again, tell you that the soft consistency is 100% how caramelized bananas should present. If they had been crunchy with the sugar something would been done wrong.
@@darkamora5123how was the chef for over 30 years in the Banana Foster appeared to be made correctly. To me it looked delicious
Pralines can be one of several different nuts. But Southern US is almost exclusively Pecans, whereas France is Almonds, or I believe sometimes even Walnuts.
It's interesting how a simple treat like pralines can have such regional variations in the choice of nuts!
I'm so glad you're getting SOUTHERN food and not California Plastic Interpretations of what they heard Southern food is!!
Here in the Midwest y'all get vanilla ice cream with bread pudding. With or without raisins is the big squabble round here.
We probably should have asked for some ice cream but neither of us wanted to leave the table once the bread pudding arrived 😂
Sounds like the Midwest needs to stop messing with banana pudding 😂🤣😂
I love how you two have become mad for biscuits. It truly warms my ❤
We are a little obsessed! more to come..
I hope you are receiving the hospitality the South is known for. Love your channel. No one makes Southern food like the Southerners do because it is everyday food for us.
Thank you for your kind words! We had such a great time in New Orleans!
I am so jealous. Banana Foster is absolutely so delicious. One of the best desserts ever invented❤❤❤
We had a great experience at Brennans in New Orleans!
If you don't like honey, you can try biscuits with butter and syrup...pancake or maple variety.
Or make Strawberry shortcake with them.
Biscuits with butter and syrup rocks. I used to do that with biscuits all the time. Prefer it to jam or jelly.
Just make sure it's genuine maple and not sugar juice with maple flavor.
Apple butter
Or molasses
Bananas Foster done right is one of the world’s best desserts hands down. I’ll never forget the first time I had it. 👍
The experience was great! The sauce delicious.... We could see how with more caramelization the Bananas would have been sweet and tasty. Ours just wasn't like that.
Maybe trying it again somewhere else will make you a believer 😂
For the banana pudding, it's generally not topped with cream but with a meringue that it then baked to give it some color. You can totally make the banana pudding. I don't eat banana pudding but growing up watching my mom make it, I totally know how it's done, lol. Grab a box of Nilla Wafers and the recipe is usually on the label.
For the Banana's Foster, I don't think the bananas are supposed to be caramelized. This is the second time I've seen this done and they're definitely not on there long enough to caramelized. I know people definitely eat a scoop of ice cream with their bread pudding.
The trick with the honey is to not do too much, lol. You liked that first bite and then you double dipped and that's what got you. A nice thin drizzle is all you need and good quality honey helps.
Thanks for the tips and insights! I appreciate your advice on making the banana pudding.
I use to travel for work and a gent that traveled with us discovered Bread Pudding. He fell in love with it and every city we went to he'd order the Bread Pudding if it was on the menu. There were surprising differences in how it was made he/we discovered since it was so easy to make people began adding to it to make it stand out from other places.
We loved it! and would definitely try it again! it's so interesting how there can be subtle differences in how food is made.
One of my favorite restaurants in LA that, alas, didn’t survive the pandemic used to serve a gingerbread pudding around the holidays. One of the ten best things I’ve ever tasted! I miss it. 😢
There are two types of banana pudding. The one that is cooked with a meringue topping and one served cold with whipped cream. I think both are good. I do hope you got the chance to try peach cobbler with ice cream because that's just heavenly.
Thanks for watching. We didn't get chance to try peach cobbler, on this trip. The restaurant we went to was closed and we didn't have time to find it anywhere else. We do have plans to get some soon though!! watch this space
Every server at Brennan's makes the Bananas Foster tableside. So, depending on your server and how busy the restaurant is, they each make it slightly different.
It was a great experience and the restaurant was very busy! It's interesting how each server adds their own touch to the Bananas Foster experience! The sauce was delicious but as a preference we would have like the banana's to be a little more caramelized! It was also $28
@@thebritstry Gotten elsewhere, it would have been less individualized, less theatrical and about $20 less. 🤫
First of all; NEVER apologize for not liking something! We like what we like and don't what we don't. That being said...
I'm loving watching the reactions of y'all eating my home state's most cherished and loved foods! ....and then comparing these reactions to the foods y'all first tried in California! You will now be forever disappointed in the food anytime you go North of Georgia or West of Texas lol. It's a curse! HAHA ;~)
Thank you for sharing! there is so much good food all over the USA and We're having a blast trying it out.
The best places for banana pudding is the small local places that make a big tray and scoop it out for each serving. Way cheaper too
Thanks for the suggestion! we will try and find some smaller local places next time
One of the restaurants in Pittsburgh ( which sadly closed its doors) I was the sous chef. The exec and I formulated a recipe for smoked bread pudding with house made single malt ice cream. Friggin Stellar! It sold so well we had to cut back to small batches because of the amount of labor involved. Sorry, I'll probably take that specific recipe to my grave.
Wow! That sounds amazing!!!
FINALLY! Someone eating sweet biscuits 😊. My parents are from the south and we only ate our biscuits with jelly/ jam/ honey or syrup.
Eating savory biscuits(w/gravy) is new to me too 😂.
i'm the opposite. grew up with biscuits with country ham and eggs or with gravy, seeing biscuits with icing and sugar and jelly is weird to me. grew up in the south
@@jishani1 It’s funny how things are different from household to household. I feel like people only review them on YT as savory items so it’s refreshing to see them how I grew up with them. Also, I’ve never had them with icing.
Biscuits were always a breakfast add on in place of toast(made with butter on the stove top). With savory items like grits, eggs, bacon, sausage or these red sausage links. We didn’t eat country ham(I assume it’s regional). My parents were born and raised in Mississippi and I’m a first generation Northerner. I had the best home cooked meals compared to my friends whose families are from the North. lol it was all Southern Hospitality at home.
Thanks for sharing.... The biscuit we had with jam was outstanding!! but we are nowa little obsessed with any type of biscuit!! lol...
Thanks for sharing. It's interesting how food traditions can vary so much from household to household.
@TraceTrace25 I feel you on that! I grew up with butter and jelly or apple butter, so sweet and comforting. Here where I live in Western NC the regional tradition is biscuits and white sausage gravy. I do like it, but seriously 2 totally different ways to eat it. If I make them for myself, warm with butter and jelly❤
Nicola going oh no I can’t taste the banana pudding then taking one bite and going straight back in for more had me laughing 😂😂. Keep up these videos! So fun to watch!
Love the video. It looks like that southern food is doing you guys well, you guys are glowing lol. Try the Latin food in Miami, and the Nashville hot chicken as well. Best wishes to this lovely couple.

@@thebritstry When your food adventure takes you into Buffalo Chicken Wings and REAL pizza, you have to come to Buffalo, New York. I have recommendations. CHEERS!😂
I'm really glad you got some proper bread pudding. I don't know what that was that you were eating before because I didn't see that particular video I don't believe. I'm also glad that you got some proper honey exposure. It might blow your mind to get some honey butter to put on biscuits and whatnot.
But there wasn't even Rum sauce on it , so much better that way and Pralines should have Pecans but surprised they didn't get recommended Pecan cake or candy or pie !!
The bread pudding was outstanding! we really enjoyed it. Honey butter sounds really good.
We tried to find pecan pie but the restaurant was closed on the day we went and ran out of time.
@@thebritstry that's actually a win because your pecan pie journey continues and you can let us see how that goes. LOL Thank you for continuing your taste bud adventures because it is a hoot.
Lol honey takes on the flavor of the flowers that the bees fed from. Even locally you can have several differences.
That is so interesting! thanks for sharing
I love watching y’all’s channel 🫶🏼
Thank you so much for watching! Your comment made our day!
You earned a subscriber. I've watched several of your videos today.
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching
Hi Nikola and Andrew no worries about liking the banana Foster, I think it’s more about the presentation than the actual dessert. There are so many more wonderful, desserts that you have to try now that you’re in America! Waiting patiently for your next video.
Thanks for watching! the experience was great but it was $28. Let us know if you have any more recommendations for us to try.
Welcome to America 🇺🇸. I live in the South and I Love it. ❤. I hope you enjoyed your time here in the South. We Love and Welcome you. ❤❤❤
Aww the bananas are usually caramelized for sure. And Sir your missis lovely and k’ind happy for you both.
Thank you for your kind words!!! The experience was good and we are happy we tried it!
Oh holy hell … did I see bananas foster?? 😮 My FAVORITE!! Super!! I’ve not had it there but a local shop does bananas foster crepes and they are to die for ♥️
It was a great experience! the sauce was delicious! with crepes sounds great.
Glad you enjoyed eating around town. You might need to do a recap/rating.
Great idea! in future we will try to do this!
Im with you on bananas foster, and i have had it a few times at Brennan's, BUT, i have in the past, used that lovely sauce on a bread pudding WITH vanilla ice cream.
That's a great idea! the sauce was delicious and would be great on many things!
🧡 Jackpot! 😂 You tried, A for effort! Tfs!
Thanks for watching!!
Check some cookbooks for a banana pudding recipe. The vanilla pudding should be cooked on the stovetop and not instant! It is topped with merengue, but you can leave it off if you want. Eat it warm, then refrigerate it and eat it cold the next day! It is yummy both ways!
Thanks for the tip! Sounds great
Lmao! I love how your just take over the desserts!!😂🤣😂
Thanks for watching...
I love that you have a long list of favorite desserts. I always pause when I'm writing the word dessert because I don't know if I'm talking about ice cream or the Sahara. Anyway.
I always remember desert (Sahara) has one S whereas dessert (pies, cakes) has two because of the old adage: with dessert you want to go back for seconds.
Yes the list keeps getting longer... So true! I am the same with the spelling
Lol! great way remember it! Thanks..
@@jeffg.6110 tha. I'll remember this.
Awesome reactions! I just don't know how you did that episode without trying peach cobbler or, especially, beignets! Anyway, fun episode 😊
Thanks for watching. We tried to get Peach cobbler but the restaurant we chose was closed on the day we went! And we ran out of time!! Next time we will definitely try it.
Hey, honesty is good.
Thank you for watching
LOL I was going to say Vanilla Ice Cream also I have had it made with Almaretto.....and some whip cream.....
That sound really good!
Beignets are mandatory at the Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter in New Orleans, along with some French Market coffee.
I hope you ignore the haters and trolls that show up on these videos. You are a lovely couple and don't deserve any hate.
Thank you so much for you kind words.. We will try an keep going!!
So hard to pick favorite foods, but a good bread pudding is always my go to for favorite dessert. Simple ingredients, simple to make, but just comes together in an amazingly comforting and delicious way. Love it hot and with a nice brandy sauce drizzled over it. Not too sweet. Doesn't make me feel gross after eating it. Just warm spices and that nice mix of easy textures like you mentioned.
Edit to add: You did pick a great selection of desserts to try. Glad you enjoyed!
I couldn't agree more! There's something special about a well-made bread pudding that just hits the spot. We have another video coming on Saturday! with desserts we tried while in Nashville recently.
Food tastes different almost everywhere you go! You two make me so hungry!😅
Food adventures are the best, Thanks for watching, and sorry for making you hungry!
Im American and husband is Brit. So glad y'all enjoyed tastes of the south!! We live 50 miles from New Orleans and its a favorite spot for me. Btw, I have never had bananas foster with crisp or crunchy bananas. Maybe somebody does it that way, but I'm unaware. But New Orleans is magical, mystical. It is American with heavy French, Spanish, and African influences. So glad to have seen your video!
Thanks for sharing. We had such a great time! we would definitely love to head back in the future!
I agree with you about the cream in the banana pudding. I don't know why that seems to have become the popular way to prepare it. Wafers, banana custard, and meringue on top is Banana Pudding.
Thanks for sharing the information! We have another video tomorrow with some more classic desserts that we tried while in Nashville.
Bread pudding is made from leftover day old bread. I have made it with leftover over glazed doughnuts before. It was amazing
There’s a place in Biloxi,Ms( Parrains) ,they do a white chocolate bread pudding topped with beignets…omg it’s fabulous!
I made it past Christmas with leftover donuts, it was pretty good. The rum cake I made was better. There’s a restaurant near me that makes the best white chocolate pecan bread pudding……
Thanks for sharing. That sounds amazing!! i didn't think you could improve it!
Wow!!! Beignets on top😍
Wow, that chocolate pecan bread pudding sounds delicious..
A warm bread pudding is pure bliss with a little heavy (or double cream) drizzled over it. Vanilla ice cream is also popular but I think it’s gilding the lilly. However I’m old school.
Wow! both of those options sound delicious!! Thanks for sharing
I was going to say you got to try that with some vanilla ice cream it's amazing
Yes! ice cream is always an added bonus.
I just had some of my homemade bread puddling made with my home made artisan bread .. Bread puddling is usually served with vanilla ice cream
That sounds delicious! vanilla ice cream on top would be perfect.
Wow yum 😀😀😀
It was delicious!
My Dad used to make bread pudding with raisins, and a bit of icing on top. And sometimes with a scoop of ice cream
That sounds delicious! we would love to try that!
Glad you finally got real bread pudding!!❤
Me too the bread pudding was delicious!!!!! Nonno's cajun cuisine was really good!
Peach cobbler is a must. Hot peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.
Hot peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream - a match made in dessert heaven!
Proper bread pudding is effing amazing ❤
So good! it was delicious.
I'm trying to keep track, was the bread pudding better than any banana pudding you tried or something else on top for desserts?
The bread pudding was outstanding!
omg, i make bread pudding all the time.. soo good in the slow cooker.. and yes, it is eaten with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
So good! We didn't know you could make it in a slow cooker! Ice cream for the win!
It's a pleasure watching you guys!! I'm sooooo glad you are having a BALL in my hometown. It's funny watching you eat foods I've eaten all my life. Enjoy, have fun and be safe.
Thanks for watching! We had so much fun!
warm bread pudding with a small scoop of vanilla ice creme is it for sure!
Absolutely! that is delicious....
We will also put breakfast sausage patty or chicken patty on biscuits..I eat with mayo others use whatever sauce or even jam
What…is this something that lots of people do? It sounds delicious.
MY favorite part of bread pudding is the corners. I've never had biscuits and jam as a desert it's always been more of a breakfast item. Banana pudding, is easy and simple to make at home for yourself (you can forgo the whipped cream if you don't like it, I'm not a huge fan myself). They have different types of honey, the taste will vary depending on the flowers used, the lighter ones tend to be milder where the darker ones will tend to have a stronger flavor. Other southern deserts, Peach cobbler, Sweat Potato Pie, Pecan Pie (with ice cream), Hummingbird Cake.
The corners are definitely the best part!! Thank you for sharing your dessert favorites! we appreciate the variety you've mentioned.
when in New Orleans ..try the beignets at Cafe du Monde
Thanks for watching! we did try Cafe du Monde and here is the uploaded video. ruclips.net/video/NrmIHI5c_WM/видео.html
Love love love Brennans!!!!!! I have never had a bad meal there.
Thanks for sharing We enjoyed the experience and the food looked great!
Great reaction n video finally real bread pudding !
Glad you guys enjoyed the dessert being from the south you should try peach cobbler or lemon meringue pie.both I'm sure you would like I'm not into banana Foster ...and biscuits you see they are made a little different but always soft in the middle you can eat them anyway that makes you happy they will always be delicious....👍
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely give peach cobbler and lemon meringue pie a try.
For best results put the butter in the honey and mix, before applying to the biscuit.
Thanks for the suggestion! we will try that next time
I like premade honey butter from restaurants, and you can also buy it from stores.
We add vanilla ice cream or whip cream to bread pudding it's amazing
Oh yes!! that would be.. Thanks for watching!
I've never heard of anyone not liking honey before. Everyone's got their thing! 😄
Just discovered your videos today and have watched a few. Really enjoy seeing you discover food with... well, flavor! (Sorry England!)

Bread pudding quite often (if not usually) goes with vanilla ice cream.
Yes, we can see that would work. Delicious
Down home american eats glad yall enjoyed it 😊😊
The desserts we had were very good! Thanks for watching
Praline is really good with vanilla ice cream.
That sounds great! Next time we will try that.
When you get back here to San Diego, check out there places. Bud's Louisiana Cafe, Surf & Soul Spot, The Crack Shack, Bowlegged BBQ. Felix's BBQ With Soul, Smokin J's BBQ, and Coop's West Texas BBQ.
Thanks for the recommendations! which one is your favorite?
@thebritstry That's a very good question. They're all my favorites but seeing how much you enjoyed New Orleans, give Bud's Louisiana Cafe a try you will not be disappointed!
Hope you guys have tried fresh baked traditional homemade banana pudding too🫶🥲
We struggled a little. The couple of popular places were closed on those days and the Banana pudding we did get was more of a fusion dessert. We eventually ran out of time but we are really keen to find some soon!
Bread pudding is usually served with ice cream. It's so good!
That would have been perfect! but what flavor ice cream would you choose?
I'm from the cut off area in Louisiana not far from New Orleans and i work at cher amies seafood restaurant and you can order a bread pudding a la mode and it comes with white chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream
That sounds AMAZING! Next time we will have to go there. Thanks for the info
I have not heard either of you mention Apple Butter on biscuits. It's not butter or sauce but a smooth mashed apple condiment with a spiced taste. Butter a warm biscuit, then spread on the apple butter.. yummy..
Thanks for sharing!! we completely missed that!! Next time we will definitely give that a try. Thanks for watching
@@thebritstry Thanks for noticing! You surprised me!

Bread pudding is my absolute favorite dessert

Nana pudding , cover the bottom of dish with bills wafers and side of dish , vanilla cook n serve pudding. Or instant , when it’s cooled add a can of condensed milk. Mix it well cover wafers with bananas sliced .
Dump the pudding on the bananas and wafers , then cover the top with wafers .
I’m with her , don’t put cream on top unless you want it in your serving .
Also it’s a big dish with a full can of condensed milk . It’s fast and easy and delicious .
Thanks for the tips! That sounds delicious..
I love Banana's Foster
I suggest that you try bananas foster in a few other restaurants. Just like bread pudding, the taste may vary.
We absolutely would try it again in the future, The sauce was delicious We just wish the Banana's were a little more caramelized. But we suppose everyone's tastebuds are different.
Yeah down here in Louisiana, we have summer like 10 months out of the year. Perks of living near the equator.
The weather was perfect when we went, not to hot and not to cold!
@@thebritstry oh yeah. It has been lovely lately. I've been living in Louisiana for nearly 12 years. It's great.
Nicola's new name is Mrs.86......(86 is restaurant code for "no", "without", "do not include")
86 the cream - would be her phrase.
@@KTKacer AND TOMATOES! Don't forget to forget the tomatoes!
Lol!
I've never tried Bananas Foster . I'm slightly allergic to bananas and usually steer clear , but I still eat banana pudding or banana bread once in a while.
The sauce with banana foster was delicious and it was a great experience but it was $28. The Bread pudding we have was outstanding.
While I love whipped cream and meringue, when it comes to banana pudding I don't want either on it. I like banana pudding but without the cream topping.
Y'all really need to check out sweet potato pie. It is the best.
Sounds great! We will look out for that in the future...
You should try homemade rice pudding with lemon sauce.and raisins.
Thanks for the tip! We have never had it with Lemon sauce!
I love rice pudding, but can't stand it with raisins.
Hopefully you can try it both ways.
Maybe you did treat it like a scone, but that also happens to be the way we treat a biscuit! Lots of people, most people open up the biscuit put the butter and the jam in the middle. Of course you're welcome to try it my way. I put butter on the top. I also put butter with jam or honey on the top of the biscuit. And then I might cut it in half and I mean top to bottom and then I add more butter and jam if I want it etc.on the cut sides. that's my unique way of doing it.
Thanks for sharing your biscuit technique, We might just have to give it a try!
I LOVE New Orleans!!
We had such a great time there!
If you are in FL you need to go pepes cafe and get the key lime pie you would love it.
Thanks for the tip! we really want to try Key Lime Pie in the future.
Had to chuckle I'd say any excuse for a biscuit instead of jelly or jam I prefer orange marmalade on mine. Your reaction to banana pudding cracked me up. As Pralines go I prefer pecan pralines, we have several candies and desserts using both pecans and peanuts love me both. I was wondering if you guys would make it to Brennan's for bananas foster nice treat but bread pudding crispy edges and all fresh out of the oven with big scoop of vanilla ice cream very hard to beat.
Your preferences sound delicious! bread pudding crispy edges and ice cream sounds like a prefect desserts! Orange marmalade on a biscuit sounds like a tasty choice. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Brennan's is where you get pralines. Everything there is spectacular.
Sweet biscuits are for breakfast and way better than beignets.
Brennans was a great experience! We love biscuits ( but beignets are great too!).
