Bananas and peaches grow in the south east, so you get a lot of those fruits in desserts. Oranges grow there too. I love the combination of banana and orange. they balance each other beautifully.

Bread pudding is delicious. It's like baked french toast... french toast cake.

I think you should at least try the banana desserts. I am someone that doesn't love eating banana's or things that are heavily banana flavored. I had someone serve me a partial bananas foster without the alcohol once. It was just the bananas, butter, and brown sugar and it tasted amazing.

American pronunciation of beignets ( ben • yayz ) the 1st dessert tried. Lots of desserts to try here cobblers, pies, cakes including cheesecake and many more. I would only call them Southern desserts because they're more prevalent in the south but still all over. Yes Brennens does that tables side for all orders. But usually with waiter/waitress not General Manager.

If you’re not a fan of bananas, there are plenty of other desserts to try. I don’t typically like bananas either, but they are good caramelized after the flambé. That wouldn’t be my dessert though, so just order whatever your appetite is calling for.

You really, really, really CAN NOT JUDGE American food on how you think it looks, necessarily. Biscuits and Gravy LOOKS bland as fuck, one dimensional....then everyone who tries it is AMAZED at how complex it is...then how delicious it is...then how homely and COMFORTING it feels. After you've had it, you get why we love it so! Josh and Ollie are HUGE fans now.

Don't worry, if you feel like skipping the banana desserts, I'm sure you'll easily find some peach cobbler or pecan pie on most Southern menus. Hope yall can make it this way soon.

you two need to stop comparing European pallet and looks to the american food. one of the biggest reason is that the look doesn't tell you the taste, texture, or how dense it is.

On the TV show Brain Games, they did an experiment with food on how people eat with their eyes. If it doesn't look good, then people won't want to eat it, as it's a way to protect us from getting sick. The one test they did, they made pecan brownies with fudge frosting. The one brownie was the typical version with the pecans mixed in, and the pieces were cut into squares. The 2nd version of the brownies, they formed the brownies to look like dog poop, and put the pecans on the outside so you could see them, and the frosting was smeared in spots. Nobody would touch the brownie that looked like poop, yet it tasted exactly the same as the other one.
