@@anju7469 In my opinion Manichitrathazhu was the only exceptional movie of Shobhana, thats when all this " she is a great actress" started...and that only in Nagavalli's part. Otherwise all other Shobhana roles were repetitive: either she was the lover or wife...no difference between the roles and she played all of them in the same way. But Urvashi has done soon many different roles, even negative roles. Roles that were totally different from each other (Thalayanamanthram, Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu, Kakkathollayiram, Achuvine Amma, etc. etc. etc.) and none of them could have been done with Shobhana. Another fact is that Urvashi was a really good actress right from the beginning of her career ( Munthanai mudichu, Ente Ammu ninte Thulasi..., Nirakkoottu, ) whereas Shobhana's acting was really bad in the beginning (just look at her acting in April 18, ee thanaliil ithiri neeram, Abhayam Thedi, etc.). She was popular because she was good looking and a good dancer... So in my opinion Urvashi is the best, Shobhana is by far overrated!
Urvashi is a great actor. She has a lot more to offer to the films. I hope they write many more amazing roles and films for her. Kalpana was a great artist too, so sad that malayalam didn't utilise her potential fully. Only towards the end of her life did we get to see her most powerful performances.

Another fact is that Urvashi was a really good actress right from the beginning of her career ( Munthanai mudichu, Ente Ammu ninte Thulasi..., Nirakkoottu, ) whereas Shobhana's acting was really bad in the beginning (just look at her acting in April 18, ee thanaliil ithiri neeram, Abhayam Thedi, etc.). She was popular because she was good looking and a good dancer...
So in my opinion Urvashi is the best, Shobhana is by far overrated!
Urvashi is a great actor. She has a lot more to offer to the films. I hope they write many more amazing roles and films for her. Kalpana was a great artist too, so sad that malayalam didn't utilise her potential fully. Only towards the end of her life did we get to see her most powerful performances.
