I'm a 55 year old guy who has been to a LOT of shows in my life and toured for 5 years in a metal band...and these guys were the craziest bunch I've ever seen in concert.
Yes it is a true story I live here in Georgia and I used to watch these guys play in the clubs and I have met these guys in person a couple times back around 1989 and 90 here in Atlanta Georgia. It was great watching these guys play Back before they got signed to a major record label. They definitely kicked ass
I've seen them 8 times live and they killed it everytime!!! I even saw them twice in one day when they did the world record. I got lucky enough to drink with them 2 times in the closest bar after their show.
This was absolutely amazing time to grow up in Atlanta and these guys are from Kennesaw Georgia and this was at the Kmart over in Marietta and oh my gosh we had the best time in the 80s and early 90s
Encore is another one. It might make you blush! Jackyl definitely brings the hard southern rock. Jesse James Dupree (the singer) tag line, Rock Me Roll Me Jackyl Me Off
Jackyl is a great fun band. They knew what they were, and had no problem with it. Saw JJD a couple years ago, great set, alot of fun, and has time for anyone.
Bad publicity is publicity. Unless you’re in the rock and roll world, then even bad publicity is good publicity. Jackyl knew how to play the game...... Sometimes it comes down to who’s got the biggest balls......
JACKYL is the greatest band ever PUH-POW! Jesse James Dupree is a rock god. (I have told him this after a show)Lets see anyone else from a band do what Jesse James Dupree has done. And what other band will hang out for hours after the show signing autographs and talking with fans?
This was th era responsible people like Tipoer Gore getting the explicit lyrics on albums and cds. Apparently the devil spoke when you played the album backwards on the record player.
Yes that is a true story Jackyl kicks ass and takes names. I saw them on their first tour back in 92 and saw them at an Atlanta club when they were just starting out.
Oh the 90s. When men were men and not pussies. Jackyl is a great band that just got over shadowed by the grunge and hip hop shift in music. They have been killing g it for years.
This is a true story because Kmart wouldn't sell there debut album because there explicit music and they did a protest impromptu concert as a protest against k mart
YES!!!! THE STORY IS TRUE! 😆 K Mart refused to sell the cd, and Jessie James Dupre gave the argument that in violation of First Amendment/ Freedom of speech rights and rented a forty foot flatbed truck & played a concert to the patrons of K Mart in Marietta, GA. K Mart refused to sell the cd as it was because the album included a song called She Loves My C&ck, so the subsequently released a song that didn’t have the song in question on the album.
After this video, Kmart sold the cds. As long as it was labeled explicitly, I'm going to be 46. I remember this Jessie James Dupree was co owner the bar in full throttle that was a show on tv
Jesse James Dupree, In 2007, Dupree founded Mighty Loud Entertainment, a record label and artist Management and Marketing company. With business partner, Michael Ballard, Dupree brought the television series to the airwaves on TruTV in 2009. After five successful seasons with TruTV, the series was picked up by Reels Channel; season premiere on October 3, 2014. Ballard and his wife, Angie, appear in each episode along with Dupree.
I’m late watching this. One heck of an entertaining band. The band I was in, in the 90s-early 2000’s, had the opportunity to open for them at a venue near my home town. They asked for us specifically! Unfortunately, we were singerless at the time and couldn’t. I STILL get bummed thinking about it. What if??? Sigh.
Watches small documentary about this that van was there only gig van at the time they made money just for blowing it up but it was a risk at the time because they weren't all that big and as well known like they are today also was part of a geniuss book of world records of x number of concerts in a curtain time frame
With all the absolute filth and near porn being sold in almost all stores these days, it is hard to believe some stores refused to sell fairly benign rock music.
Hey Guys I'm Sure You Notice When I Have Left Comments On The Warning I Always Say PUH PAU At The End Of My Comments. The First Time I Saw Paulina Playing Drums And Realized They Call Her PAU All I Could Think Of Was The Song By Jackyl.. It's Called She's Not A Drug.. Kmart is out of business and Jackyl is still rocking strong!

Bad publicity is publicity. Unless you’re in the rock and roll world, then even bad publicity is good publicity. Jackyl knew how to play the game...... Sometimes it comes down to who’s got the biggest balls......
