I still wear the denim that reminds me of my closeness to the terror of my own existence. While walking with my loyal canine companion, I stepped on pine cone and slid. In a motion I can only claim to be slowed, everything I valued, everything I thought important went away in a flash. My knee was scuffed and the abrasive texture of the driveway forced itself on me and exposed my vulnerability. The denim was sanded away and I sat there for a moment, hound in hand via lead and wondered just what was the reason for anything everything and all. Unfortunately, I did not have a camera.

That final sentence sapped all of the tension out of the story.

Not what I was expecting, but a wonderfully engaging theme to have chosen.

We went on a walk around Cardiff last Saturday. There are parallels.

You made it back in one piece. Fortunately with way better photos than Dennis Hopper.

Since he was shooting Nikons too, Dennis had no excuse.

Ah Spec Ops : The Line....that would've made for a disturbing movie. ".......we were helping......" 😬

Jospeh Conrad could wish to be this eloquent or dark. Had Francis Ford Coppola happened upon the script for this movie, Apocolypse Now would've been set in Australia, and a a heck of a lot more funny.

Personally, I think 'Heart of Darkness' is a load of self-indulgent wombat poo. God knows how they dragged it out into a whole film. 'Lord Jim' is a far better book and film (with Peter O'Toole).
I thought you said you weren't a landscape photographer, looks to me that you did all the right things, except turning up to a waterfall in Australia's dry months.

Thanks for the kind comments about the landscape photography. I think I did pretty well on the self-indulgent wombat poo, coming in at nearly half an hour for this video.
