  • Here's another exciting piece from a baroque composer who's music we rarely hear on the accordion. George Philip Telemann like his compatriot G.F. Handel was sent by his parents to university to study law. And luckily for us & all music lovers of the world, he gave it up for the sake of music. Just think of how gifted this fellow was,...he never received a single music lesson. In fact, as a contemporary of J.S. Bach, he was more famous than him so that he turned down a job as chief organist in Leipzig after which the job was given to J.S. Bach & the rest, we all know, was history. I played this piece for my Grade 8 piano exam, but it's at least a Grade 9 level on accordion. Some parts most certainly have a Grade 10 level of difficulty. It reminds me of a "Concerto Grosso" opening with the bold & energetic "tutti" (all together) section so typical of Telemann.
