This is great! I love how this realistically acknowledges not everyone has a sewing machine and has practical advice & direction for the non-sewer. Thanks so much for this post Tracie!
You’re welcome Rod! Just if you get a hold of small ponytail elastic, they can hurt the ear after a bit, so if you have anything more pliable, that would be ideal 🙌🏽
Please make sure to use elastic bands that are not “too” small. They may hurt your ears. You can use fabric strips to use as tie ons if you do not have elastic! Also make sure the fabric sheet is washed and dried to remove the chemical scent etc. 👍🏽✨
Excellent tutorial!! You can also add several paper towels folded in half or pieces of Air filters (Used in your HVAC system) as an additional temporary barrier. Thanks for posting!!
Hello Tracie. Great tutorial on the face mask. I made one similar to this last night. I use 2 large rubber bands and instead of sewing the folded inside flap I used a small safety pin under the inside flaps. Any protection is better than none!
Very clear, step-by-step tutorial. Thank you for posting and if we are requested to wear masks when we go out, I think I'd prefer this one, as opposed to a mask that should go to health care professionals and first responders. It is stated more than once in the video that this is not a medical grade mask, but certainly something that should help filter air. I am now awaiting the arrival of a bandanna!
Thank you for the video. I saw another one where they used hippa filter from vacuum cleaner bags instead of dryer sheets. That made wonderful sense too.
Thank you so much for ur time and creativity as well showing clear instructions. I appreciate the "use what you have " because i think ppl underestimate the amount of these little items we can find laying around ,buying on clearance and collecting for projects never over years & months unintentionally of course ... lol 🤣 ME God bless stay safe

I used to work at an Obstetricians office and they hired a woman from India’s a phlebotomist and she would pour on the strongest perfume andI get horrible migraines and I had to complain. I hated to but I couldn’t work around her, I said we have pregnant women coming in here and manny have problems with nausea and vomiting and you can’t have her wearing that extremely strong perfume. I had never smelled anything as strong in our country. They finally made her quit wearing it
MaryV That’s good, I do have some dryer sheets that are old and don’t have much smell, I wonder if you can wash dry and then use them. I used to have old interfacing and left over elastic but I haven’t got into my sewing supplies in a long time. I’m going to have to look and see what I have left, thanks
You could also add a drop or two of therapeutic grade essential oil such as doTerra OnGuard or Young Living Thieves on the dryer sheet to add a little more protection.
Folded over like that it's 9 layers of fabric and a dryer sheet. I would find that very hot and hard to breathe through. I've made another one from a bandanna with 4 layers, which is much more comfortable. Perhaps not as good a filter, but sometimes you have to make compromises for comfort, because otherwise you're not going to use it.
Lady. I. Love how honest you are! GOD bless you and keep you well ! Thanks so much. Easy explain I watch it two times, saved and shared it too. ♥️🙏🇵🇷🇵🇷 👍 from California GRACIAS.
Very nice and fast, I don't have any rubber bands in the house so I cut two short pieces of my 1/8 elastic and used them for rubberbands I know they are a one time use only .

hey Tracie Ive seen masks worn at restaurants that people have made that are way thinner than that i believe that may not be regulated but i def think thats is pretty thick protection... good looking out.but for me i would probably cut the ends off only because its hard enough to breath when your walking through the store with them on to begin with.
What kind of material did you use ( the black fabric) Between the pieces of bandanna other than the dryer sheet? Nice video I’ve been watching Quite a few .I am actually combining the different techniques to make what is comfortable for me. I probably add ties , using smaller rubber bands and attach the ties to them. Thanks!

Easy way to make a no sew mask with a coffee filter which will provide you 6 layers of fabric in front of filter: Supplies needed: piece of fabric e.g. used shirt (100%cotton nicest) cut to size 12"X21" Coffee filter - cut to a single layer ( or double up if you are more worried) 7"X4" 2 pcs of elastic ( e.g.pull out from used clothing)- best 1/4 " width ,10" length. Tie each elastic into an individual band. Principle: you will be placing the rectangular filter directly over the mouth area and folding fabric around the filter to keep it there. How: Take the fabric and lay it on flat surface with longest sides in the horizontal plane. Place the filter on the fabric in the middle of it so that it covers the center third in both horizontal and vertical planes. Fold fabric starting with the bottom edge - up to cover the face of the filter as far as the filter's upper edge. Then fold the top edge of the fabric down to meet the bottom edge of the filter. Now you have 2 layers of fabric over the filter. Next take one end of the mask and put it through an elastic tie and ease the tie up to the edge of the fabric covered filter [ its shorter verticle side]. Repeat this on the other end with the other tie. Lastly fold the horizontal ends towards eachother to lay over the filter area - and by tucking one end of fabric into the other( left side into the right side or vice versa) end of fabric you secure the mask's ends. Now you have six layers of fabric over the filter. This is the side that will be against your face. Gently adjust the elastic ties and fabric so that the mask is comfortable on your face. That's it for the no sew filter mask which you can easily dismantle to wash and replace with new filters. Hope it works for you! :-) God bless all your audience...this is truly a valuable time in life to think about the real purpose of our lives, how does this incredible complexity and genius of the human being come from - is it really rationable that we came from nothing to go to nothing?! Or are we created beings designed by an even greater Designer? If so wouldn't be fantastic to know Who is this Designer? One of the advantages of this mask if you don't sew it, is that there aren't any small holes that allow more droplets/virus/bacteria through it.
