It's moreso "sport" driven which is what nowadays kids could stand. I've been taught the traditional styles like shown here since a kid but only recently have I been going to a dojang and learned the "sport" style. BOTH definitely are hard and serve different worlds but I get what u mean and feel the same. I hope to go to Korea one day to learn the traditional kind more
Taekwondo is bad ass. Just needs a little cross training but it’s a high level foundation. Look up Steve Vick. Also, a lot of similarities between Taekwondo and Savate. Savate is a highly effective type of kickboxing.
Very true. Theres a reason taekwondo means the way to use the foot and hands, it's really open to interpretation on how you apply techniques. So the possibility are endless and shouldn't be restricted by what you've been taught. The newer generation and younger masters seem to be more focused on the sport aspect and less the old traditional aspect of tkd. Self defense is a must in tkd training as well as sparring.
Competant instructors drill this all the time. A lot of modern WT schools are so sparring focused that they teach and reinforce bad habits. I trained ITF to 4th Dan and WT to 3rd. You dont see gaps like that in most ITF schools as they split their time between different aspects or training better as a whole.
Hello Samuel I like the style of taikwondo you do .You practice the traditional style that includes the knee strikies along with the spinning back fist. Most of the taikwondo I see are usually fighters hopping on one leg while shooting out a hundred side kicks that never seem to make contact with each other.
They are much gone now as the uses for the art is decreasing. Olympic style now refers from hitting too hard so many now have to be reliant on fast but light kicks in tournaments. If you want to learn full traditional you would need a time machine and go back to the 90s but you’ll end up hating it as they used to beat you with a stick if you didn’t do something right. I’ve visited america and the closest I’ve gotten to a practical, hard hitting taekwondo studio was a mma class. They taught taekwondo and sparred heavily, practiced knee strikes and we had poomsae. I never found a taekwondo specialized studio that would teach in a more power focused form, in Korea you may find some but they are rare even here. Still, Korean tkd even if it’s wtf is no joke, demo training is hard and easy only for certain people.
Apocalypse 8 42 JESUS IS GOD repent now it's to late Share the gospel to all creation share the gospel to stranger peoples and family Friends Deuteronomy 31 6 GOD will never leave you James 3 15 16 don't talk bad words about others trust the LORD JESUS
Kwonkicker showed this as well, taekwondo is very incomplete nowadays

True, I have seen Taekkyeon tournaments and they use low kicks, takedowns and sweeps unlike Taekwondo. Taekwondo totally lost it roots.

Why the fuck would you remove effective elbow strikes and knees!
Right?!
Back kick to back fist to roundhouse to hook kick. Glorious.
We learn these moves in my dojang! Good to know my training isn't just certain parts
This techniques can be found in ITF style but rarely
Same with WT, just not in sparring
We teach these techniques, they are found in Ch'ang Hon Patterns.
I still learn the old style and I have mastered the back fists and the knee strikes
The most informative shorts in RUclips, thank you so much!!!
Thank you! I appreciate it 😊

dude I actually remember learning taeguek 7 when I was younger but I haven’t seen anybody do I since now that I have came back
Makes me very appreciative to have several masters at my school who teach this
I just performed Taegeuk 7 on my last promotion exam. Plus, we still practice Taegeuk 1-8 here in the Philippines.
I’ve actually seen many people doing the traditional taegeuk forms
This is best self defense

Thank you. I’m glad you like it
I wish techniques like these could be done in combat, it would be much more complete and useful....
Still can see those techniques in ITF/GTF
Damm now I want to learn taekwando lol
ur not gonna learn this in taekwondo this is kickboxing moves
We do these in my class! 🙏
I feel like I can learn because I already want to do knee strikes and elbow strikes
All thanks to wtf🙏🙏
When I'm going to spar with my friend which is a muay thai student, I'll use this move
Taekwondo do today is changing very fast like for example in poomsae before you bow 8 second now it’s 5 sec
Nice moves
i guess my taekwondo is so traditional cos this is all basic stuff
Is there some where on line I can look up doctrine?
Maybe? Idk tbh
Now this worth my time, f mordent taekwondo
Backfist I use when it’s sparring
I do Okinawan kenpo but this looks similar to shotokon
True
I did shotokan and doing tkd. The difference I see is different tournament rules
Because taekwondo is originated from shotokan karate and other traditional Korean martial arts.
Awesome ❤❤❤
so, basically muay thai and taekwando? Holy shi#.
So cool
Wdym we always perform 1 - 8 in the philippines
Is this ITF taekwondo ?
No it’s WTF/WT
Where can u learn this type of taekwondo
Try hapkido
Come to my academy
Korea mainly. Goodluck anywhere else because its a much bigger risk factor to teach

Learning taeguk 5/O'jang rn 0:!!!
Back kick > back fist > roundhouse 👌
I acutally dont know the other way od taeguk 5 and 7, I've been doing this way since I've started doing them
I teach Chang Hon and there are a lot of techniques that aren't taught.
"Old school"
Sir, I just give the test of dan 1
That all !! 😉
When the sport grows… techniques are lost. Look at Judo.
Muay Thai has weapons… but we only see the sport.
Damn I already forgot all form already
Holy Sheet 😲😲😲
looks like karate
AWESOME
I can do the whole taegeuk II Im a taekwondo student
Is punches allowed at head level
Parece karate

..no way
I would understand the backfist but as for elbow and knee i just don't believe
At my dojo we do backhand punches all the time 💀
Juan 10:11 iBinigay Ng mabuting pastol Ang kanyang buhay para sa mga tupa amenANYONE who believes in God's son has eternal life John 3:36
It was basically like Muai thai

Apocalypse 8 42 JESUS IS GOD repent now it's to late Share the gospel to all creation share the gospel to stranger peoples and family Friends Deuteronomy 31 6 GOD will never leave you James 3 15 16 don't talk bad words about others trust the LORD JESUS
