Palm Springs Opera Guild of the Desert Outreach and Recital Featuring Alissa Goretsky

The Palm Springs Opera Guild Outreach and Recital is a capstone to the western United States Vocal Competition held this past December. From among over 70 applicants vying for over $33,500 in cash scholarships, Alissa Goretsky, the first-place winner of the competition, will perform on March 15 at the Rancho Mirage Library and Observatory. Goretsky began her musical studies at the age of four-playing the piano-and singing with the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus at age eight. In 2019, Goretsky made her operatic debut with the role of Gismonda in Handel’s Ottone with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Goretsky will perform seven to eight opera arias from various operas with accompanist Zach DeChance. The Palm Springs Opera Guild will also provide some educational insight into the world of opera.
