MY SENNA IS BACK! Collection with My G63

- It's finally time to bring my McLaren Senna home! After 6 months off the road, how better to bring it back to the garage than to do so by trailer behind my matching spec AMG G63. It's been a long wait that's required a lot of patience, but this feels like collection day of it like a brand new car again!
Joining up with Turbo Transport, the first stop is to hook up the trailer for the purpose to the hook on the G63 - the ultimate towing beast. Having used it just the once before to collect my new AMG GT R Pro two weeks ago, this time around it's Turbo Tony's time behind the wheel for the first stretches to take us in the direction of the Senna at Chartwell in Derby.
Chartwell were chosen to manage the project due to their experience in this field, and close ties working with McLaren Automotive directly in terms of the parts, MSO paintwork, calibration and factory technicians coming out to work on it at various stages. I got to see it at various stages as well as experience joining the shakedown and the very final fixes before it has all been completely signed-off where now it is time for the 'reveal' as a deja vu of when it was new this time 12 months ago.
With torrential weather doing its thing, we load the Senna into the trailer with thanks to Tony for his expertise and assistance meanwhile I'm loading up some of the spare parts that have come off the car into the G63. My intention is to use these to form artworks and display items in the future mancave.
It has been a long wait and required a lot of patience, but it's back now and 2020 will have adventures that feel like it's new all over again!
Huge thanks to Turbo Transport: / turbotransport

Suggestion for the senna parts in the new garage: Hang the parts that you have on the wall and hire an artist to paint the remaining parts of the car so it can look like a 2d senna :D
I'm thinking to mix it up a bit; like the wheel becomes a table, the end plate becomes an 'ornament', the rear quarter hangs on a wall etc.
It’s a great idea! ;)
@@Shmee150 there's a great company in Hoxton London that could make your wheel into a fantastic table

When you see the cars all lined up like that, It really is a pinch yourself moment. Tim, you should be extremely proud of what you have achieved. Congratulations on getting back the senna !! Quick Idea for the man cave - You could use the damaged rear wing as a shelf in a man cave, possibly behind a desk or something, that’ll be soooo cool and would be the best shelf ever in any man cave , maybe drape a cloth picture of the senna through the rear of the wing and have a dropback behind the desk of the senna , that would be pretty awesome 😎
I’d like to see snow or off-road tires on the G.

Congratulations Tim!!!! Awsome to see the senna back in the stable.
at some point when the dust has settled if you are able giving a breakdown of the insurance claim would be interesting, the cost of the repairs, the loss of use, the depreciated value due to the accident and how the companies involved behaved in relation to this and it's ongoing effect on your premiums
I agree it could be interesting, I'd also like to get all the information myself
@@Shmee150 Would be a very interesting video in my opinion. Would love to see how those things are handled with such magnificent and rare vehicles. Also thank you for the amazing content!
@@ReduceTheRisky It's handled the same way an insurance claim is handled for any other car. Because it's Shmee, a massive RUclipsr, and he lives in the same country as McLaren, and he has a relationship with them, they did all the extra stuff. I can assure you, they don't do this for all Senna owners.
@@xenonram Ah okay, I wouldn't know seeing I don't own a vehicle myself. Thanks for the info though :D Still think it could be cool to know some of the costs for the company, however I very much doubt they would want to share that.

They're only on trailers with brakes. Most smaller trailers don't have their own brakes.

Shmee: here's all the rules and regulations to have a trailer on the car
Streetspeed717: The trailer is on boys! and we're ready to role!
Yeah, the EU with their nanny laws. I was pulling a 7 horse gooseneck with a 1993 F350 dually, and a 24 foot full-width box trailer and a 14k deck-over dump trailer with a Ram 2500 V10, when I was 15/16 y.o.
@@xenonram I'm not even allowed to tow a trailer over 750kg without going for another driving test and I can't drive a vehicle over 3500kg without another driving test then if I want to tow a trailer heavier than 750kg with a vehicle weighing more than 3500kg I need another driving test. It’s fantastic to see the senna return to your garage shmee... I hope you have a lot of safe and exciting drives to come. Shout out to tony for providing the trailer again, what a gentleman he is.
You have the English senna German G63 now you need an Italian Alfa Romeo and it should be in Shmee blue
Nice logic, no arguments to that one of course
He does have a Ferrari GTC4Lusso so that could count as the Italian...

Yesss, I'm so glad it's back, been a long, long wait. Can't wait to see the content with it in the future
Living the dream Tim, fantastic car collection!
Even though it was replaced exactly as it would have come from the factory initially, would some value still be lost if sold (not that he would, just curious). Would the potential buyer have to be notified of the accident?
Im sure that given who owned it, and the story that’s attached to it, might actually go up in value!
@nicksimpson88 That's exactly why the repair has been done with the factory to equal or higher standards - including the shakedown that you've seen. By law it dictates that if asked you must disclose such a thing; but when you've made videos about it with almost 3m views you kinda do that anyway!
@Joe Sho You must be in the USA, this is a UK registered car so what you've said is wrong
It really depends on the potential buyer in the future. Overall, it should lose value in comparison to other Senna's with better condition. But remember, Rowan Atkinson crashed his Mclaren F1 TWICE and was able to make a huge profit when he sold it (sold for $12.2 Million). Again, it really depends on how the potential buyer values it and the rarity of the market at that point in time.
Shmee150 seeing as the insurance did the work it hasn’t been written off right? So has no category attached to it ? Correct me if I’m wrong 🙃
This is why posh people always have clean hands. Lol
I respect you so much because you don’t do random wraps on your cars and actually protect the factory color and that’s beautiful
So cool that your Senna is back after so long but it's good
that you have had other cars to enjoy in the time while
it's been gone and you have also been in different countries
which would make the time go faster.
May we know how much McLaren charged insurance for this repair??

When you're hauling a trailer down the street with a cargo worth 1.5 million dollars...
What happens when water goes into the exhaust of the senna. Does it break or is their something that makes it waterproof. Im curious
Maybe, for lighter rain, the wing kinda blocks the water from going in the exhaust, but I have no idea for any thing else.
I would imagine the heat would be so much, most of the water would evaporate anyway
"does it break"

Nick Kautz
Not sure how it works in the UK, but in the US 75% of drivers have inadequate insurance. A person who cares about a quality repair will have his own insurance cover the claim. His insurance will then try to recover the cost from the other drivers insurance company. If an insurance company advertises it’s probably garbage.
