    They must have changed these I bought mine 5 years ago and the needle fitting is round rather then hex so I can’t remove it. I cleaned it out as best I could with paper-clip wire.' The smallest 18GA needle will fit - Grease goes everywhere, but fortunately, some of it did weep round the shaft letting me know I accomplished my task. My coupler has no prevision for lubrication,. but Bio-shield T-9 frees it up good as new

      I am glad you found a way to make it work. I have now used the D035 hitch and it is much better.

    a great video - thanks for sharing. There's another RUclips vid where the guy talks about how these fail. I'd bet his wasn't lubed - he didn't mention any maintenance...

      I have not see another video. I did not know these had a lube point til i looked closely.

    I be was able to get the tongue fitting out but the hitch fitting is totally round. Any ideas? I can’t grab it with vise grips. To shallow.

      A small pipe wrench or channel locks would be me second go to. Also try smacking it in with a hammer gently to break away any paint or rust. If all else fails, drill out the middle then use an Easy Out to remove the threads. Let me know if you still need more help.

    So what’s the verdict? Is the 6mm fitting the way to go?

      I really like having all the fittings the same, having two grease guns seems silly. That said, the clasps on the hitch do not flip around as easily with a standard zert fitting. After a couple times hitching I was able to remember to flip the catch open before lowering the tongue onto the hitch. Having to remember is preferred over having to hassle with different grease fittings.
