Hey everyone! Sorry the video sounds weird between 13:00 and 17:00, the music was copyrighted and I tried to remove it using RUclipss tool to remove copyrighted music. Just wanted to let everyone know!
i noticed something kinda worrying about these videos, and that's if you go to vintage eight's channel, they aren't getting anywhere near the amount of love and attention they deserve, and I feel like it's almost taking their content and profiting from it, which I can understand, but I feel like it might be really heartbreaking to put in so much work and effort like vintage eight does just to have someone else react to it and get more than 10x the amount of views and recognition than themselves. I'm not saying I dont enjoy your content, because I really do. You are the person that made me start to like analog horror, it's just I worry that if he doesn't get anything in return, it might just be really hard for him to be motivated to make more. That's just my opinion, please don't take it personal, I dont mean it to sound mean or rude, I just want to point it out.
Funny thing about mosquitoes, they track their pray by receiving CO2 from the surrounding environment. They do this with their antennas, which will relay exactly where the wave of CO2 came from. Which means that unless your good at holding your breath for months or years on end, they will always be able to find you.
The funny thing is, we actually did that mosquito extermination project in real life. Pretty close to how they laid it out even, we released genetically modified mosquitoes unable to produce larvae, and in real life it has shown notable success.
The "release sterile mosquitos to tank the local population" is actually a think that works, bc besides being infertile they're just normal mosquitos from the area.
Yes, it works. The male modified mosquitoes are made sterile and could mate with the wild female population and make her offspring nonviable and lead to a decrease in the population as the next generation is cut in half or more.
yeah, the problem with this kind of horror, is that people have started to think they're real life. We mess with the environment all the time. You can thin a forest in a way that it slows winds, for example. Of course, not all messing is good, but it's ridiculous what people think scientists are doing.
I love the fact that after the public found out that they used the tangi virus they immediately went all out burning and pesticiding everything as quickly as possible

(DON'T DO THIS AT HOME UNLESS YOU ARE 100% SURE AN APOCALYPSE IS *REALLY* HAPPENING, I AM NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES CAUSED) You'd probably want to block off as many "obvious" entrances as possible, such as ventilation systems and windows using winter blankets. Tear open a few of them and stuff the cotton in various vents or something, I don't know. If you have a sprinkler system similar to the one in DE4, do what David does and put in a *lot* of pesticide. Maybe even grab a few of those solar powered lawn lights or bug zappers and put them at a fair distance from your house. You said that barricading yourself in a single room wouldn't work, but I feel like it at the very least minimizes the amount of cracks they could sneak through. This is legitimately one of my favorite little Analog Horror universes. Not because it's realistic or grounded (though a lot of it is grounded), but because of the creative stuff this person (or group of people) come up with. This was an actual proposal due to those real stats. Heart-wormis horrific in how it kills. Don’t look up pictures. Keeping an infected animal comfortable until the end is soul crushing. There are currently plans in place to do this exact thing. It will help control the population but it won’t eradicate them because yes that could have unforeseen consequences on an ecosystem. I have a serious fear of bugs, but I saw it was Vintage 8 and I was like "man..." and forced myself to watch anyway. Everything they do is just so damn good!
On one hand I think this is an awesome horrer concept. On the other, I'm a biologist who has spent many hours studying what bio engineered mosquitos to control pest population would actually do. In the real world this is actually a really cutting edge tool that benefits us as a whole. I can see how a series like this could do damage to the public perception of this kind of science. Genetically engineering mosquitos to not be able to breed could never create monsters like this.
I had a dream like a few days ago, where these like stick shaped bugs would crawl through your skin it was a nightmare until seeing this analog horror. Just makes me feel like I’m having déjà-vu.
I remember that back in the Oracle Project video, it said that the Tangi Virus will be able to spread via mosquitoes in 10 years. i think this video has something to do with the Tangi virus. [EDIT] I made this before watching the whole video.
I think we did something similar with releasing modified mosquitoes irl, but instead of making males infertile, we made it so the female mosquito population to depend on tetracycline or something like that.
Here in Brazil they do this almost every year with the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. They "infect" the mosquitoes with a bacteria called Wolbachia, and that bacteria doesn't let the viruses develop in the mosquitoes' organism. It's pretty cool and works very well.
3:10 YO, IT'S THE FUNNY EYEBALL MAN, AZFK! LET'S GO! If any of you don't know who he is, go check him out, he's pretty underrated in my opinion. I didn't know he worked with vintage eight before.
The more I watch this stuff the more I see that this isn’t an analog horror: this is an entire cinematic universe. Everything is intertwined and it’s very meticulously made
So at 14:47, I happen to recognize what kind of infection that is. That's leishmaniasis, which is caused by the leishmania parasite usually transmitted by sand flies. Specifically, it's Post-Kala-Azar Dermal Leishmaniasis, otherwise known as PKDL. I was a morbid kid, and am now a morbid adult.
5:25 - 5:30 all of vintage 8 analogs are connexted (including the tangi virus) it's either aliens isolating the area that is next to the nile river or some outside force causing the events like the children under the hourse or the oracle. Vintage 8 is connected in the same universe. Edit: Yes,, every single analog horror series made by the same person who made stuff like midwest angelica, winter of '83 and the mandela catalpg have a connected universe. Every single diffrent analog horror made by a diffrent person always have all their series' connected one way or another.
"Oh, well that minnesota mosquite, he's bite your face, he's gonna bite your sweet behind." So, that kinda describes this.. Cause this pops into mind as I saw the thumbnail and title! Lol! Run from the mosquitos.. Edit: 3:38 OMG- 3:42 oh 3:48 hm..
This for some reason reminded me of when my grandmother took me to live with my aunt in Florida . The community my auntie lived in had a private pool etc. And every night they had these trucks spray with bug killer just as it got dark. I was told to be careful not to go out around the trucks as the bug killer could make me sick. As i look at it now i understand it all completely. But as a kid who had just spent the past few months in the UK and beforehand lived in Texas and California it was so strange to me (i was only 6-7). I saw the trucks a few times and even accidentally got sprayed once. In my mind then those trucks are what as an adult now might think of the army suddenly driving up your road pumping stuff into the air and telling you not to leave your homes.
It's just something about having an analog based in your local area, Louisiana. It's just Fascinating to me because being that I live here it gives me a whole new perspective on the analog or it just makes me feel that much More interested. Besides that Thank you for the content, the content is amazing.
what's scary is there are bugs that will rip off small peices of skin when they bite.. Florida has a species of biting flies that can leave a small wound after they bite.. and it's friggen painful. Its a subspecies of horsefly but they make horsefly bites like a small mosquito bite. Thought these flies are more common in the "real florida" environment and not in the tourist traps.
i want some type of game based off this ngl, like using blankets and wearing alot of clothes to go outside and fetch food from places while avoiding swarms of mosquitos, you could have them as like 1 seperate entity going towards you and they do small amounts of dmg if they hit your skin or something something like project zomboid ig they all get alerted if 1 sees you? (expand on all of this later ig)
"the swarm" also reminds me of one episode of Love Death Robots series..it wasn't about mosquitos but it had similar name with similar themes of a species getting violent and self aware..the art style and animation was phenomenal and the story was truly smart and horrifying (like every Love Death & Robots episode ever lol LOVE THAT SERIES TILL DEATH.)
I like that this started off as a project to stop mosquitoes from transmitting diseases. Heart worms especially hit home because my dog died of them when I was in the fifth grade. Never forget that Saturday.

I think we did something similar with releasing modified mosquitoes irl, but instead of making males infertile, we made it so the female mosquito population to depend on tetracycline or something like that.
The goal was to cause them to die before reproduction.
Here in Brazil they do this almost every year with the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. They "infect" the mosquitoes with a bacteria called Wolbachia, and that bacteria doesn't let the viruses develop in the mosquitoes' organism. It's pretty cool and works very well.
Glad to see you cover this one! I’ve seen it before but it’ll be a treat to get your take on it
3:10 YO, IT'S THE FUNNY EYEBALL MAN, AZFK! LET'S GO! If any of you don't know who he is, go check him out, he's pretty underrated in my opinion. I didn't know he worked with vintage eight before.
The more I watch this stuff the more I see that this isn’t an analog horror: this is an entire cinematic universe. Everything is intertwined and it’s very meticulously made
23:03 HELPPPP IM CACKLING
Hey, mosquito Gyatts are very concerning
@@Izfizlizard True true
your user is very concerning
Wha-ew
08:55 This was from the human trial btw.
vintageeight never fails to bestow upon us some of the most horrific things possible (in the best way ofc)
Urgh... listening to this with headphones.... I feel like they are crawling on me
So at 14:47, I happen to recognize what kind of infection that is. That's leishmaniasis, which is caused by the leishmania parasite usually transmitted by sand flies. Specifically, it's Post-Kala-Azar Dermal Leishmaniasis, otherwise known as PKDL.
I was a morbid kid, and am now a morbid adult.
I really like your vids Marcus. You show us the whole series, and help point out things I don't notice myself. I like binging this channel, so thanks!
9:09 I find it interesting that no city in the US at all has a weather report.
17:55 and again, it doesn't show Louisiana.
Dude this has to be one of my favorite Analog Horrors I have seen this year
5:25 - 5:30 all of vintage 8 analogs are connexted (including the tangi virus) it's either aliens isolating the area that is next to the nile river or some outside force causing the events like the children under the hourse or the oracle. Vintage 8 is connected in the same universe.
Edit: Yes,, every single analog horror series made by the same person who made stuff like midwest angelica, winter of '83 and the mandela catalpg have a connected universe. Every single diffrent analog horror made by a diffrent person always have all their series' connected one way or another.
marcus you should make a video on valle verde, it would be really interesting considering the kind of stories you like!
bro it's a hivemind because it has Bee DNA, there could be a queen
Time to square up with a 3 foot long bug(were screwed if its xenomorph sized)
"Oh, well that minnesota mosquite, he's bite your face, he's gonna bite your sweet behind." So, that kinda describes this.. Cause this pops into mind as I saw the thumbnail and title! Lol! Run from the mosquitos..
Edit: 3:38 OMG- 3:42 oh 3:48 hm..
Bro is a certified yapologist and I am loving every minute of it, Jerry!
Vintage Eight's stories give me major Larry Niven vibes. His stories/books shaped a lot of scifi, especially the "space opera" genre.
I think vintage 8 is genuinely alluding to the end of times in Parish. Plagues- The Tangi Virus, Floods- Sinkhole, Locousts- The Swarm.
23:05 It's okay marcus, I forgive you :)
Wait, the narrator is AZFK! That's fucking awesome!
11:30 Looks like somebody is looking for a bee hive.
Now I can’t take any of this video seriously. 23:02
truely the best way to protect yourself from anything scary is to get under blankets and hide.
17:18 imagine living so long just to die to the swarm
what's scary is there are bugs that will rip off small peices of skin when they bite..
"I bet everybody watching this had one bug in their home at some point"
People in underdeveloped countires: "Hold my bugs"🗿
23:01 💀💀💀 that caught me so off guard
Mosquito Gyatts would be very concerning.
Neuro sama has completed her trial phases. It is time to release the swarm.
I like that this started off as a project to stop mosquitoes from transmitting diseases. Heart worms especially hit home because my dog died of them when I was in the fifth grade. Never forget that Saturday.
Fun fact: when Marcus first watched the Oracle project video, at one point Oracle predicted that mosquitoes will spread the Tangi virus more.
When you are talking about the North Shore Research logo I'm pretty sure you're thinking about the "Eye" from the "Sinkhole" series
The one bug that brave wilderness wouldnt dare let bite him
I was hoping Oracle would return (again), but the ending twist was still great.
I love that this guy has made so many analog horror series and they’re all connected in some way
Bro i was halfway into the video and i got an add for furbies. THEIR BACK 😭😭😭
WHAT. NOOOOO
