Fence sitting can be a problem sometimes. As Contralesa president this man should know about customs of different tribes in SA. Stop beating around the bushes and tell it like it is. Custom dictates who should be king, not our opinions and we know by customs it is King Misuzulu.
But Zulu customs say it is King Simakade. Just look at how all Zulu kings, since Shaka, were previous;y identified. They were all ascended through male primogeniture and not female primogeniture. Therefore, Simakade is the rightful heir to the throne and has every right to claim his birthright.

What is very clear, is that those in support of Simakade are hungry for power and they know that Misuzulu is a man of principle like his father. He will never accept any nonsense. It is rather unfortunate that Contralesa has not to date ensured that they have detailed and documented processes on all royalties, especially on succession. They also should be the ones recommending the appointment to the President after individual royal house processes have been adhered to and exhausted without any deviations from documented procedures. One wonders what direct and accountable roles they play if they cannot facilitate such a fundamental issue - which should be part of our constitution and make courts points of last resort.
I am however confident that the appropriate heir will be anointed because history and procedures cannot be rewritten to suit new cases - and the fundamental issue will be martenal royalty ahead of other procedures that can easily be abused
U are wrong Contralesa is not mandated to appoint a king or a leader of the royal house.
I never said hey are. I am rather advocating a process that should have been approved at law for them to play a more meaningful and direct role to avoid such occurrences, especially if processes are documented and taught/known.
Who support to choose the king, is the people's from outside or inside the family?
Government and politics should never supercede the decisions of elders of the royal families. Advisors to the royal family, if they are part of government and political parties, their input can be easily compromised, their biases are always influenced by political narratives of the day. Even religious leaders are compromised by their beliefs and are easily manipulated by politicians. The elders of the royal family are custodians of the rituals and customs of the nation. The government can only recognize and record the decisions made by the elders. Even the certification of our Kings makes our Kings subordinates of political system and yet spiritually and culturally Africans believe that only the Creator sets Kings of the nation and the Creator delegates the elders of the royal family according to their seniority in the lineage of the royal house as custodians and facilitators of the processes of coronation. Kingship is not only about rulership but also is a spiritual and moral dimension of nationhood. The chief in his comments clearly shows deep understanding of these dimensions.

The royal family need to sit down and use the same methods that were used to identify king Zwelithini and king Solomon as heirs to the throne, for example.
The Zulu throne is not just any other throne, blood has been spilled many times to confirm a new Zulu king, it can happen again if necessary.

Mathupa Mokoena must shift and step aside for the grown-up assed men for the position. You can't be the tribal royal leader(Mokoena Royal Head) and not know the traditional customs and procedures, and again be the National recognized organization leader (Contralesa) and not have an idea as to how to solve the problem which is on the table and it's the talk of the town.

Things should have been done right the first time right and the Royal family should have been included and not for the prime minister to bulldoze the process. Inclusion and consultation is very important for consensus to be reached. I respect both Kings.
King Misuzulu is the rightful heir to the throne of amaZulu, everybody else who claims to be the heir is an imposter.In a polygamous marriage wives are ranked and in most cases the eldest son from the first wife becomes the heir.But by virtue of being a king's daughter, the late Queen Mantfombi outranked all the other wives hence her eldest son is the rightful King of amaZulu.All others are imposters.

In a way shaka was also in the same kind of in a similar situation as Misuzulu of which he was the first Son born from a Mother who is royalty automatically making him the rightful heir of the throne .of which led him to take the throne by force because they were taking away his birthright
