Love these videos, I've been learning a lot watching them. As I get older I am getting fed up with lower quality clothing for many reasons but also can't afford to have a closet full of 100$ shirts so these videos are helpful. Also I'm learning that not all good shirts have to cost 100$ and not all 100$ shirts are good, very interesting. Thanks for the great video!
Great video! One thing to note. The Bronson tubular T-shirt isn’t loopwheeled, it’s circular knit. They specify on their website that they are knit with more efficient circular knit machines, which is why the price is much lower than any loopwheeled tee. This is similar to Naked & Famous’ circular knit tee. Still no side seams, but the machine uses tension on the thread to knit ~10 times faster than loopwheel machines.
Hey Michael! Great to see you giving the Bronson tees some well deserved love. I've got quite a few and the quality for the price is crazy. Keep up the great work sir 🤘
I work in the garment industry in the knits department and we call the fold over collar a bound neckline (when the body’s neckline is sandwiched in the ribbing)! Just thought you might want to know 😁
Been binge watching your videos a lot recently and they're honestly amazing. Nothing against regular reviews of course, but this vlog style of review is super refreshing
I'm glad your girlfriend pointed out some of the tees are too long. Being 5'8 I spend my life trying to find tees that aren't made for people over 6ft.
Glad to see some Bronson MFG items in this video. An underrated brand imo, I have several jackets and shirts from them that are really great pieces that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. My every day type II is actually there’s
I used to swear by the Buck Mason tees, but I can say they absolutely do not hold up over time. Every one of mine started degrading and developing holes after a few washes, mostly with their Slub tees. Just a note.
I'm a plain t shirt head and I've searched far and wide for the best fabric and best bang for buck t shirt. That being said the Hanes Comfort Fit shirts in the black box at Walmart that are 40% model 35% cotton 25% spandex are the most comfortable shirts I've ever worn and they are only 18$ for 3. I wear them at home and to work. I do construction and I've yet to rip one or get holes in them. FYI they run true to size I usually get XXL bc everything nowadays shrinks but in these I wear XL which is what my chest measurement should be.
Surprisingly the uniqlo t shirts which are sometimes marketed as their "color" shirts or "dry" shirts which come in sealed packaging are really durable, soft, and comfortable. I like them more than the supima cotton shirts they have. I've had like 8 of them for a full decade now without any holes or collar stretching. I probably got half of them on sale for $4. They're a cotton poly blend so not exactly a 100% cotton shirt but they've stood the test of time and hundreds of workouts each.
@@via8029 hmm not sure - never had that issue really. Tbh all mine are pretty old so maybe they used to be better too. My personal trainer asked me earlier today where I got it from because he thought it was nice though lol. I told him it was like a decade old and he said it looked new. Checking the care instructions it says line dry but I just dryer it on a moderate heat.
Not sure if you are a polo shirt guy (since I don't think I've ever seen you wear one in a vid) but it would be cool to see a similar video but about polos (since due to my short thick neck I look better in polos and should wear them more lol). Aw man the idea of having a super heavyweight polo shirt just seems so cool and I'm suprised I haven't seen anyone talk about it.
Michael, Having now tested the Bronson Loopwheel, the Standard & Strange Loopwheel, and the Merz B. Schwanen loopwheel, which is your true favorite? The one that, if money were not a limiting factor, you would just buy several of and never look back?
I'm a big fan of Gildan Cotton Stretch t-shirts. They're 95% cotton, 5% spandex and fit and move with me very well. They're decently cheap, and in my experience they're less likely to come out of the dryer wrinkled to all hell.
Gotta grab the bronson shirts now - I got 4 of the Bronson cotton tank tops in white to wear under my unbottoned button-ups to look like a delinquent from a 90's Hong Kong action/romance movie and they're crazy good for the price
Velva-Sheen offers a few different styles of t-shirt that also come in different weights. The one you are wearing I am not familiar with, the tees that they call their Pac Tees (because they come in packs), and then their rolled t-shirts (which come rolled in a Kraft paper tube). The rolled tee is very light and has visible slub & is a boxier and shorter fit, "vintage" fit from the 70s. It seems that the rolled tee is the lightest weight, then the pac tee, and then the line of pigment dyed shirts.
Howies organic T-shirts are really good, 180gsm & organic. I’ve have some of their Ts that I’ve worn for over 10 years. The fit is quite snug so you might need to size up one size. ASKET (not to be confused with ARKET) make really good Ts (made in Portugal), you can also choose the length. ARKET (not to be confused with ASKET) have heavyweight organic Ts that are quite good
I really don't see the point in heavyweight T-shirts - In the summer you simply get too hot in them and, as it's your bass layer, you can't take it off. Much more sense is to wear a lighter T and layer with a long sleeve T, Light weight sweater, or even an oxford shirt - then you can easily pop that second layer on and off as temperature and actives call for,
Very nice video. The other T-shirt video was good, too. Please keep doing these on a somewhat regular basis. I live overseas, and I don't always have access to the brands you have there, but there always seem to be one or two on your list that are international enough for me to consider.
With the long tees, you could just tuck them. As I'm getting older, I'm starting to prefer the tucked t-shirt look. Definitely looks tidier and more classic than untucked. I wish more brands made longer t-shirts so you can tuck them without having to worry about them coming untucked at the back. I have a Dickies Porterdale pocket t-shirt that's 30 inches long, so it's a good length for tucking. I think the workwear brand t-shirts are designed to be tucked because you don't want loose fabric flapping around if you work around machinery.
Glad to see Bronson on your radar! I actually just ordered a few things from them last month. Any plans to review their 15oz selvedge jeans? I'm loving mine so far but would be curious to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for reviewing the Velva Sheen, I was curious about that one. Would love to see your thoughts on the Left Field NYC loop wheeled tees in a future video. Also looking forward to the comparison of the different Buck Mason fabrics, should be interesting.
@@TheIronSnail I have a few Left Field tees and I'm wondering how they compare to others I haven't had the opportunity to try. It's more of a retro/boxy/greaser fit (which I prefer), probably similar to the Velva Sheen, so if you do end up trying one you may want to consider sizing up.
I've been curious about the Bronson tee's for a little bit, I'll have to pick a few of them up. Also if you do a ever do a part 2 of this video you should include a Merz b. Schwanen shirt, they make a loopwheeled 14oz (410gsm) heavyweight Tee that's supposed to be pretty good
Another great video Snail! Would be interested to see your opinion on t shirts (or other products?) from two of my favorite brands: Asket and Reigning Champ!
If you want a heavy t-shirt, I recently got a 100% wool shearers t-shirt from New Zealand, it's surely... something. Super heavy weight, they (Manawatu knitting mills) don't give specs though. Takes some getting used to the texture, looking forward to it wearing in. Not a fit I think you'd like though: super long body, low neck. I think it probably works better as a sleeveless singlet though, keeps your core warm while shearing but leaves your arms free. Works great as an under layer.
Sunspel is the brand for James Bond, tailored for muscles. I’ve already seen it in the comments , and fully aware that my opinion will hold little value seeing as we don’t know each other, but the speedy is a little too big for you (but if it makes you happy, who cares)
1. Be fit/ jacked, have good posture 2. Wear just about any t-shirt 3. Look great If you're in a t-shirt your fitness level matters way more than said t-shirt, Imo.
Try Mollusk Hemp Pocket Tee next, it's one of my favorite tees. I size up because I like it a little looser, but your normal size should also fit fine.
I'm surprised you didn't include any merino wool t shirt from bands like wool&prince, smart wool, etc. Etsy small businesses also have them and other organic cotton t shirts for reasonable prices as well.

The woman, Taylor, in this vid makes me feel so many ways I have so many questions. At first I was like is she studying for school. If so why are you making all this noise and bothering her. Then I was like if she is not studying and isn't doing anything important. Why doesn't she pay more attention get more involved. But on the other hand it makes the video more interesting. Like it reminds me that she has her own life going on her own little adventure that will not stop for this dude's vid. I really kinda dig her sitting there doing her own thing.
