Quetzalcoatl is a deity in Aztec pantheon. Aztecs are also known for their "swords" called Macuahuitl (basically a wodden paddle with obsidian sharp shards inserted into the edges). That guy's cosplay at 10:21 with the weapon and the headpiece was on. point. ✊

Crazy how people ignored this katana. I made the thing my main weapon before ever going to fight Margit. It's a really solid weapon.
I mean there’s a lot of better options, prolly the best thing about this Katana is its unique R2 attack

@Marouan Fares if you found ichimonji slow then idk man. It's slowER than other moves, but if get the timing and spacing right(not too dificult) it can both obliterate an enemys posture and restore yours in one strike(and it gets sexier with double ichimonji, since most enemies and even bosses dont recover fast enough from the blockstun and are forced to eat the second one).
That one fight was the closest he's come to dying in 20 years.
He actually did die in a stream against a guy called Heisenberg and he didn’t summon or use cheese

As somebody who dislikes engaging in PvP, I really appreciate your positive and fun-focused duels/invasions.
Most PvPers I see are a bit too serious and focus a bit too much on winning and optimizing. Which is absolutely fair, if that’s what appeals to them and their viewers.
chase and saint riot are a blessing to this community, keeping the pvp is for fun spirit alive, they know how to optimise but also know how to hold back in the spirit of a good time
I agree, many PVP streamers are starting to become annoying because they are always complaining about meta strats, and also insulting the players they invade.
Go to Boilprawn Shack, enable Taunters tongue and make sure you got the white cipher ring, also have the blue one, its much less anxiety ridden if you get summoned as a blue guardian to help, whether you die or not doesn't matter.
However when using Taunters tongue you can literally just practice being invaded and don't chase your invaders, they have to kill you, stay near boilprawn shack grace, if you die your runes are nearby, and you can also get dozen of practice with little to no anxiety by surviving and dodging till you get a hunter helper to kill the person for you and slowly go from there, really strongly recommend. I did this for 4 hours at level 130 and garnered around 5 million runes easy. Most of the kills were done by hunters.

Yeeeeees! My favorite of the katana type weapons! This bad boy is such a beast!
It does so much more stagger and poise damage than a normal katana, I love it.
It's exactly what I'd hope for in a strength scaling katana, still light, but with real heft behind it!
Also, Quetzalcoatl's aztec warrior and then the Kratos afterwards! Awesome cosplay there, haha!
Funny you mention its stagger ability. I use this on radagon and I time my dodges to go for the full charged heavies. He takes a knee pretty quick.
Yes, I go fetch this weapon every playthrough straight away. Then I use it to get the Bloodhound Fang, then finish the game ;)
That spell the draconic guy used at the start is an Ash of War called "Knowledge Above All" that increases magic and holy damage taken by everyone (caster included) in the area by decreasing magic and holy resistance
I love that overhead horizontal slash. I haven’t used any katanas yet, but it just brings back fond memories of Ichimonji double :)

Fun fact. The R2 is a basic strike called "Men-uchi" commonly taught to all first year kendoka students.

Those are Kenjutsu terms not kendo.
Also, "Ichimonji" means straight line while "men-uchi" is head strike.

Is it really faster? I love it’s look and the fact that it doesn’t have a sheath so I’ve been pairing it with my occult scavenger curved sword. I just didn’t notice it was any “faster”

@@rhaosaa2623 It’s faster with a unique R1 moveset that takes you a little further forward and looks fancier. The speed increase is just slightly more dps in PvE really.
at 11:09 your opponant used the Scepter of the All-Knowing's weapon skill, which is Knowledge Above All, its basically a debuff that makes both you and them more vulnerable to magic and holy damage

I find the hawk's talons to be very interesting, the r2 is unique and it has great roll catch potential

When I found this weapon on my first playthrough and tried it out and found the R2 to be Ichimonji I was like YOOOOOO and used it a bunch and love it. Gravitas is also really nice for dealing with elusive enemies and flyers. Probably my favorite katana.

I’m not familiar but I’m gonna assume (hope) that it lets you summon a cooperator and not get invasions? If that’s the case I’d actually be happy with that. Id rather get a couple fewer invasions than constantly invade and then get an alt f4

Ive been using the meteoric blade and I prefer gravitas into 1 light, running heavy, followed by a light into a heavy. The short blade requires you to always be aggressive or very patient.

One of the most underrated weapons in the game due to PvP. Its charged attack deals an insane amount of physical and poise damage, almost too good to be real. This video shows what a great choice it is in PvP, too.
I think this is my fav katana next to the serpent blade because of the heavy attacks, they feel more characteristic for the swords themselves. the Meteoric Ore Blade having the Ichimonji style heavy attack coming down like a meteor and the serpent blade having a quick double strike like a snake.
Shout out to the Quetzalcoatl cosplay. That was unique. The Sword of Milo's makes a pretty cool Macuahitl.
Helpful hint for those who don’t know; using gravity sorcery or aow near flying enemies or just those temporary in the air like with some dragon incantation will always get pulled to the ground. Even the birds with the sword feet

Chase for the most part doesnt actually die. Watch an invasion stream of his. He wins most of them. Not all, but most. This being because he did primarily pvp in DS3 consistently for several years, so he's had a lot of time to get good and practice. Not to mention most people playing elden ring are new to soulsborne

I just want to say that you're the best Souls PVPer out there. Almost never loses, doesn't get angry, doesn't insult his opponents or those he invades. I see many of these PVP streamers act like their way of PVPing is the right way, and always complains of meta weapons and spells (frankly, it becomes annoying). You are better than them because you win despite encountering players who use such meta strats.

Awesome vid. That Gravitas and heavy charged attack is deadly. Do a dual whip build with Hoslow and Thorned whips. Back up weapon Morgott's blade.

For the 4th talisman you could’ve used the Axe talisman for the gravitas charged r2 combo

Hey Chase, not so much a weapon showcase more of a moveset showcase, but the r2s you get from warcry can be better then regular r2s on some weapon.
Specifically halberds. Uncharged it comes out fast and it gives hyperarmor and counts as thrusting for some really intense trading when built around or can be charged for roll catches

I would love to see a showcase of the Dark Moon Greatsword. The tracking on the ash of war is less than stellar in pvp sometimes and I'm still trying to get a handle of the normal moveset on greatswords in general.

Hey Chase, do you play on PC? If you do you must MUST watch Scott Junds new video, and it is IMPERATIVE that you do. He talks upon a new terrible development that could completely shoot and KILL invasions on PC, leaving its corpse riddled with holes in a gutter to rot. In short, You need to watch his video if you play on PC. If you don’t want to though then I have put details below.
A new mod for elden ring has been made that optimizes Elden ring matchmaking, allowing more summons, torrent for everyone summoned, and of course because it’s a mod it’s on its own server. Most of the playerbase want this mod and will most likely transition unless they’re tryhard pvp dedicated people. This means you will get NO co op invasions unless they’re dedicated ganks. No pvers. A detrimental blow to the Elden Ring invasion community.
Bro I have to give you credit for being so chill and happy as you’re showing off these weapons in combat!

Made a build whith this thing, using gravity magick, and I was frequently breaking peaples stances, the charged r2 can also stunock low poise anything into oblivion. My build was called rock man
Yeah, the ore blade does SIGNIFICANTLY more stagger and poise damage than normal katanas.
Absolutely love this thing! So nice to have a light weapon that still has so much heft to it!

Fully charged I wish it was Ichimonji double for that R2. Such a fun blade. I used it with Moonveil on my first run of Elden Ring. Full double katana weeb.
I also used this and moonveil in my first playthrough (after using the naginata, went full weeb by accident). The staggers from the charged r2 and moonveils heavy AoW are crazy
But it is basically an Ichimonji double if you press R2 again, isn't it?

I’d love to see a weapon showcase of Great Hammers! I’ve been using a fire Large Club, and Heavy Great Stars a lot but have had mixed luck in PvP so I’d love to see what you can do with the move set!

I've been loving these showcases, thank you for the great content. I'd also like to suggest a showcase idea for the Rotten Greataxe, it's got some odd scaling but it looks really cool and has rot buildup so it would be cool to see if someone who's as good at PvP as you are could make it work. Especially since you've been highlighting weapons that don't always get tons of love in PvP.
Today I’m going to start a build I’ve had in mind for a while. It’ll be an INT samurai that uses the meteoric ore blade alongside the meteorite staff and gravity spells

I've been trying to make use of daggers and it really just seems like they are not good, hope you do a showcase to prove me wrong.
I’ve been having a blast playing pve with my vampire dagger build. Tried it in pvp and boy was it awful lol.

OMG HE ACTUALLY DID IT
Gonna have to say that this weapon just... Isn't it... You can't grease it (A Heavy Nagakiba can be greased for an extra 80-110 AR). Its range is too low to reliably utilize the unique heavy attack, its AR isn't unique and Nagkibas unique heavy actually works better for Gravitas -> Heavy rollcatch.
I think it needs a unique Gravitas, similar to how Carian Regal Scepter has a unique Spinning Weapon AOW. I think it'd be awesome if after using Gravitas it empowered your katana and made the meteoric fragments extend into a massive gravity greatsword, letting you do something of a Carian Grandeur move. It'd put it in a nice place imho.
I used this weapon for about 10 hours of PVP, and after I switched to Heavy Nagakiba I did far better. It's a huge shame imho.

so to let you know, this katana's heavy has a MASSIVE amount of poise damage, u staggered a bullgoat with a single heavy, partially charged... it can also stagger stuff in PvE to a DISGUSTING level... it also does more poise damage on light attacks than katanas normally do...
also, if you havent noticed the charged heavy true combos into an uncharged quick heavy
you should do the golden halberd! hits harder than most collosals, easily the highest damaging halberd in my opinion. And that’s before the golden vow buff. I do 1015 on my build and like 1100-1200 buffed, i don’t remember exactly lol
Ahh, one of the reasons I dread any chance of doing battle with Chase, he’s got that internet sweet spot, where his connection is good, but not great, and either his upload or download speed is lower than the other, resulting in the slight lag, which goes in his favour. Unlike my buddy Ygg, who has the EXTREME version, which makes fighting him in any game literally impossible, because if you hit him and break his poise, he suddenly teleports behind you, and thirty feet away, and you get hit sixty times.
Or if you fight him in Red dead online, each punch he throws is ACTUALLY six separate attacks, so if ONE hits you, you get hit six times. Or, if you block one perfectly to counter, your counter gets canceled by six or more other punches you can’t see. Curse you Ygg.

Also I know this is a PvP review, but if you hate flying enemies in PvE, gravitas is godtier against them: literally yank them out of the sky because it’s got nice vertical tolerance on the pull.
How about something unorthodox? Fist weapons deserve a showcase too, even if they aren't that great for dueling. What about the katar with royal knight's resolve? I think they are completely fair and balanced :)
What's your thoughts on the mod that Scott Jund said would kill PC invasions? (Separate server mod for ER, no invasions).
I think it’d be a good idea for you to talk about some of the problems elden ring pvp is facing to ur viewers. Or at least refer them to youtubers that do like Scottjund or G9. Would further persuade from soft to balance their game since ur such a huge part of the community. Anyways love ur weapon showcases keep it up

Chase what are your thoughts on the new luke yui mod that brings so much great coop things but completely removes the pvp/invasions on pc? People are panicking that invasions will be completely dead on pc now.

Kinda wish they had one of the sekiro combat arts for the ashes of war. Ichimonji, dragon flash, or maybe nightjar slash. I don't really use katana all that much, but maybe they could fit some for the other weapon categories.
I love how humble you are dude. Imo the dueling part of the video is a bit less entertaining, because you simply outclass 90% of the duelists out there lol. Either way I dig the weapon showcase format.
