why do people complain about people spending their own money on their own stuff... These guys spend 10 hours a day working in-front of their tool box, why should they work in-front of something cheap? In any trade you have to buy your own stuff, the difference between cheap tools and good quality probably won't be noticed by a weekend warrior, but if you use a tool 40-50 times a day 6 days a week, you want it to work and be comfortable to use... a £1.99 hammer and a £200 hammer do the same job, and if you pick one up every three months to do a quick job obviously the £1.99 will do, however if your framing for ten hours a day I know which I would prefer. its the same with a spanner, (wrench) or a socket and ratchet.
