    I've been binge watching your videos while I'm researching different plants I'd like for my tank. I'm very new to planted aquariums and the information in these videos are very helpful. 😊

    Will this grow in gravel substrate without fertilizer? I just ordered some plants and I know nothing so I haven’t gotten the good substrate yet. Just want gravel for now.
    Love the video!

    Happy Jul 4 Jacob. Thanx for the info. My Silver dollar love this plant; Eating it that is, He ate two plants in one night. I think he even like the roots I saw him tearing at it when their were no more leaves.

    Having real problems with my planted tanks at the minute. I can only get Java fern and anubias to grow properly, even with liquid carbon, weekly fertiliser, daily fertiliser and root fertiliser. I have hygrophila as a backing plant ATM but although it grows there are only leaves at the very top - any lower leaves die and fall off. I am waiting for it to reach the surface but it seems like every backing plant I get - grows tall and thin and looks a mess. Please help!

    Could anyone tell me what the plant is in the background at @3:25. Looking to purchase some online ;) ( no stores anywhere reasonably close) thanks in advance. Also if you have vid on this plant you could point out I'd appreciate it. Keep up the great work! So informative!

    Hey Jacob got inspired from this video and I ordered a bunch of dwarf sag and planted them about 3 weeks ago and now I see that they're turning lighter everyday im kinda worried, I had a glosso carpet earlier which got destroyed by algae earlier and im using the same lighting for this should I use a lower lighting set up ?

    Jacob, I'm not sure how I managed this, but I actually have TOO MANY plants...a surplus to store somehow while I'm waiting to get my next tank up. there's no room in any of our other tanks either... how would you suggest I house/store them until that glorious day I can give them a permanent home? right now, they are in a bowl of treated water which I change every day or two... UGH! I four I've would LOVE to see how you store your personal plants, as well as your actual store etc. AGAIN, I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR YOUR INVALUABLE VIDEOS!! you the best!

      You will have to throw them away and get used to chucking them away. Alternatively, if you are in the states, join one of the aquascaping forums and arrange large amounts for postage to others. 30dollars for lots trimmings and plants.

    Hi about a month ago i bought some dwarf sag for my 5 gallon with eco complete and root tabs. They grow new leaves frequently but has not propagated. Any idea why?

    • @chriswang148
      @chriswang148 7 лет назад +2

      A Burd hey dude, trim a few leaves off. They propagate when something seems threatening. Its a survival tactic. Your tank is providing a very good environment so they grow leaves instead of propagate. Hope this helped.

    Sag like light
    With low light it become a darker green and it becomes high
    With high light it gets light green bit of a reddish colour at the tip
    Medium light is best choice
    Best carpet plant
    For a low tech
    We can create a carpet. With no co2

    • @tyngchinchillachang838
      @tyngchinchillachang838 5 лет назад

      Tropica site states that low light makes it spread carpet and high light makes it grow height.

    Would this plant benefit from root tabs?

    • @MrJacobCastro
      @MrJacobCastro  8 лет назад

      +Jada Blu Hi. Root tabs slowly release nutrients at the base of aquatic plants in your aquarium if used correctly. This means they can improve the overall health of your plants and strengthen root systems. However, it may still be necessary to dose or inject other types of fertilizers like liquid nutrients or CO2 for more demanding plants. Thanks for your comment and watching. Have a great day.
