Excellent job conforming the carbon decal Tom. I prefer to use a brush instead of a cotton bud myself, but whatever works for you… I look forward to seeing what you do with the interior. ~James
Hello Tom. I like this BMW M4 and paint job. Last time when you did unboxing I was almost sure that it will be violet (or Urban green). Many times I was wondering if you flooded panel lines with clear, because in my experience it is almost not possible to achieve nice glossy deep 2k clear and do not flood panel lines. Now I know, thank you for explanation.
I don't know. It is resin model for Pro. So missing panel lines or other detail shouldn't be a problem for Pro. On the other hand, at this price... Anyway, super model kit. Best regards, Mike.
@@AlphaModel1 I do, yes. I keep telling you I can't afford your kits. If you still want to send me a P1 GTR for free though I'd be happy to build it up and advertise it for you.
I was so on edge when the engraving needle got used Lol. I kept saying out loud, don't slip!! don't slip!! This kit really should have come with PE emblems. I find decals unacceptable in this price range
Metallic on scale models does not work so well, the "glitter" becomes disproportionate, far too large grains. It looks more like 70s styled hot rod with flakes, does not fit modern cars
Two of my favourite modelling channels uploading on the same night. It must be my lucky night
You mind sharing the other channel? Would love to check it out

nice paint job. Think the roof panel lines are different on this one as it has a CF roof. that might be why they didn't mould them
No, the panel lines on the roof are the same, with or without the carbon roof.
Very nice color ,nice video 👍👍

Hi Tom does zero-paint primer would work on resin body?
No. Won’t stick well. Tamiya grey primer is better
@@TheScalemodelingChannel Thank you very much !!

How do you clean your new airbrush? Because its not so easy to take it all apart every time
Clean the cup, poor some airbrush cleaner in it. Spray it through a couple times. And do a back flush
What is your mixture on the clear coat? I did it according to the label and it tried to fast and cloaked my air brush.
If it dries to fast you used to much hardner. Try using less hardner

The panel lines are just fine. And not flooded. But you have to be aware of this being a possibility before you start painting.

Disappointed in the panel lines (missing??) Needs more attention from the manufacturer (considering the cost).
Agreed, I really wish aoshima or tamiya would produce some new BMW kits

Just looked up the price. Alpha is so committed to scale accuracy that they are selling the model for 1/24th of the real car cost.
Your kidding!? Where can i buy an M4 for 3600 bucks?
@@TheScalemodelingChannel Haha. I just cannot get over the price point of resin kits.
I'm the same way, I'd rather spray a few extra coats of thinned out clear and walk away instead of sanding and polishing.

To be honest. These decals are insane and look identical to the 1:1 chrome finish and all

I think the flake is too big to make this realistic, need to make it smaller or give up.
I think i’m just going to give up. Sounds reasonable

Try Splash paints if you can get them. Very fine metallics.
