Besides being a scale modeler as a young boy, the '02 is one of my absolute favorite cars, since I had several full scale versions of them as a young adult in the '70:ies . I took them apart down to the smallest part, repaired and rebuilt them; I know them by heart. This scale model build is like ASMR to my brain. When you constructed the scissor mechansim for the bonnet I was almost in tears. For some reason that mechanism is so imprinted on me and my brain I couldn't really take in how realistic you made it. I have been wanting to build this model myself when I retire and have two Hasegawa and USCP kits in storage, but after finding this video I may just watch your build over and over again. Thank you.

Absolutly Amazing. This unbelievable, your talent is impressive. I build model cars in scale 1/24 too, but only in metal with little plastic-parts. I can learn here many things. The only what i miss here, was the working steering column in the engine room. Yes, your steering works, but not from the steering wheel. I know, it's very difficult to build this, but i had looked, how the die-cast models do that. So i made some copy. But i must congrulate for this amazing work. Very, very good.

It is excellent!!! You brought modeling closer to art! I'm glad RUclips invited me to watch this video. Awesome! I remember only a sad story from my childhood. The first foreign car in my family was the Ford Sierra. Used, as standard equipment. But painted in a chic metallic blue with blue interior plastic. I loved this car very much and watched it with pain as the next owner practically "kills" this car. There were even requests to my father to buy this Ford back. Unfortunately the car is gone. After watching your video, I got the idea that I really want a similar car model. Not an expensive Ferrari, not a beefy Mustang. A simple Ford. Sorry for this story. Thank you for this BMW. All the best!
And it's true, my English is also very bad ))

    Awesome!! 🙂👍
    Absolutely amazing build & quality.
My first car back 1977, was a BMW 1800SA, 1969 model.
When BMW took over the Glas factory, they sent several thousand KDK (knock down kits) to BMW SA for assembly and distribution in South Africa / Rhodesia.
It was a car of similar size, with engines, gearboxes, underpinnings and interiors all from the BMW parts bin.
The 1800SA & 2000SA & (BMW 'Cheetah' for Rhodesia) became uniquely Southern African cars.
    Cars pretending to be BMWs.
Still a few have survived to this day.
My own 1800SA was 'T' boned in '83 so went to the scrap yard😢

There are several areas of interest here, deserving comment. First, the front strut tower cups are light/medium grey. Second, the vacuum advance on the distributor is missing. Third, the rear quarter glass is a pivot, and is fitted from the outside. The two piece drive shaft and donuts seem to have been ignored. In addition, the bonnet/hood stay is good, but lacks that holding pivot. A magnet or other arrangement will not suffice.
I know because I have personally restored two of the E10 BMW 2002 vehicles... the whole and actual vehicle. A late '74 with square tail lights, M10 engine with single solex down draft, and a twin solex '72 four speed.
Hope this helps. I comment at 47:41 from a 1:25.43 video.
