For those interested in Catholic movies not exclusively about Judases, here are a few that come to mind, but there are so many more! God bless, and enjoy: The Passion of the Christ, For Greater Glory, Becket, A Man For All Seasons, Therese, Le Sorcier du Ciel St. Jean Vianney (English subtitles), The 13th Day (about Our Lady of Fatima, much edgier and more accurate than the pretty and fluffed-over The Miracle of Fatima), Things We Lost, Marcelino Pan Y Vino (subtitles), Silence, The Awakening of a Giant, St. Veronica Giuliani (lived late 16-early 1700s was obscure because a saint for these awful times & expected to be pronounced Doctor of the Church), The Reluctant Saint (St. Joseph of Cupertino, some humor), Paul Apostle of Christ, St. Giuseppe Moscati, St. Maria Goretti, The Case For Christ, etc., etc.
TOP 5 Catholic movies - I'd strongly recommend these movies - The Passion of the Christ, Song of Bernadette, Thérèse, The Miracle of Our Lady of Fatima, Love and Mercy St Faustina.
It is truly a dark valley of death we walk in when persons make movies of issues that don't give the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH and not an edited depiction of it... These movies make Religion, faith, Catholicism look as twisted as those who are wolves in sheep clothing. GOD have mercy on us...for we know not what we do.
@@maysant2724 Out of all movies shown, Doubt and The Two Popes were the only movies not giving off a sense of propaganda against the Church. I'm also aware of the abuses happening in the Church, but the sins of the few aren't the sins of all. A lot of people often ask that Catholics don't condemn the sinful actions of the clergy, they're wrong, in fact ordinary Catholics are fed up with the countless reports of abuse we've been hearing every year and yes the clergy is an absolute piece of crap when dealing issues like those. The Church needs reform, but it seems like the current clergy is avoiding it, sad to say.
@@kuyachamp7618 And thanks be to God... at every Mass we ask God.... not to look at our sins, but at the FAITH of the Church, to have mercy. He knew it will be mere humans in the Church, weak and sinful.
Nos. 5-2 are all about bad priests, nuns, etc... - & definitely should be Not be on Top as it doesn't represent the True Catholic Church. Dont judge the Church by their Sinners rather by their Saints..
The best Catholic movie by far is the Passion of the Christ! This movie is straight from the Bible. It is from the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Holy Rosary (Agony in the Garden, Scourging of Jesus at the Piilar, Crowning with Thorns, Carrying of the Cross, Crucifixion in the Cross).
if you're looking for intriguing and inspiring Catholic themed movie I strongly recommend Francesco 2002, Molokai the story of Father Damien 1999 and Alive 1993
NOT TRUE! Especially the #1 here, it’s way off! First of all because this is more a fiction movie. Catholic movies should be as factual as possible. According to Catholic News Service: “Informed Catholic moviegoers will wince at a series of distortions, some of which are downright weird. The future Francis says, for instance, that there was no mention of angels in the church until the fifth century. That will certainly come as a surprise to anyone conversant with the New Testament. The dialogue also has Cardinal Bergoglio informing Pope Benedict that God changes, an obviously heretical statement.” I can honestly say that my top 5 are: “Pius XII - Under the Roman Sky”, “Karol- A Man who became Pope“, “Garabandal, Catarata imparable” (in Spanish), “Paul VI: The Pope in the tempest”, and “Clare and Francis”; which of these, the last one is my favorite and it’s not on RUclips.
@@michaelfarah7735 Doubt isn't horrible, we Catholics should not be offended by these movies, (though some of them are just complete propaganda shit) it is an eye opener on the corruption in the clergy and that the Church is in dire need of reforms.
I was looking for movies to watch on Lent days. As a girl grown up in convent from a very young age, I'm aware of all these things and that's what breaks me more. But I have seen priests who point out these things without fear to those sisters, priests, bishops and even pope. So I'm happy. I'll came back later to watch these movies once the Lent is over(in 4 days)
4 appalling movies which do nothing for your soul. Honest to God-- none of them are "catholic" shame on communiTV for presenting them as "catholic". The last one with Hopkins (an agnostic) is more respectful but its cliched and very trite to catholics
The Two Popes is actually a great film, it shed light on the corruption in the clergy and the process of selection during the conclave, it first handedly showed what the life of the Pope is and what he deals with in the Church. Hopkins is an agnostic but the message of the movie is clear. Would recommend the movie Doubt as well. As Catholics we should be aware of Church issues and how the clergy deals these. I'm a Devout Catholics but I want reforms in the Church. Pray for the Church and pray for the clergy that they may address issues with proper justice.
Here's one that isn't specifically about the Church, but presents Catholicism in a positive, respectful light: "The Fighting Sullivans". You'll cry at the end.........
Let God arise and His enemies be scattered and all those who hate Him flee before His face. As wax melteth in the presence of a flame, so shall the evil perish in the presence of God!
Catholic movies? Are you kidding me? My suggestions for the top Catholic movies would be: The Passion of the Christ, Brideshead Revisited, The Song of Bernadette, The Miracle at Fatima, The Story of Father Damien, Therese, Becket, and A Man for All Seasons.
