  • Epsom is a town in mid Surrey known for its racecourse and the Derby. About 82,000 live in the borough. Unlike most local councils it has never merged with any others and is substantially the same, size wise, as it was in the 19th century.
The video was filmed on Friday July 7 2023 at 2pm and 2.30pm. The drive starts on the A24 in East Street just before the shops start. After the railway bridge we turn right into the High Street, turn left into Ashley Road which becomes Ashley Avenue and then turn left into South Street heading towards the hospital. We restart in South Street as if we'd turned right into it from Ashley Avenue. At the lights we turn right into the west end of the High Street. We pass the clock tower and return to the traffic lights in the centre of the town. Back at the railway bridge we turn left into Hook Road and eventually left into Chase Road. That becomes Waterloo Road, passes near the railway station and returns to the centre of the town in the middle of the High Street. Finally we turn left into The Parade ending by the Town Hall.
I made a poorer quality version in 2018: • A drive through Epsom It was early in the morning so the town was empty and there were road works making South Street 2 way again.
