I have been living in Hiroshima for over 40 years. I am a retired university professor. Of course, I know many A-bomb victims and have heard and read many accounts of the bombing. I also have had the time to study and reflect on the bombing itself: why it happened and how the fact of the bombing has been interpreted by survivors and victims. My subject at university was history and , of course, I learned how to speak and read Japanese. I have also learned how difficult it is to study the atomic bombing dispassionately. and this video also errs in this respect.

Just the fact that we continue to build & stockpile nuclear arsenals worldwide is almost incapable to understand. And if the day comes when someone decides to unleash this destruction on the world again it surely will not be worth surviving to “live” amongst whatever shall remain. Putin recently made an interesting statement on the threat of nuclear conflict saying, “you should not fear who has threatened to use such weapons but those that have already used them.”

I wouldn't take this as an Historically accurate depiction of what happened but it is the so called Narrative written by the Victors.

The responsibility for the deaths of all those people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki lies squarely on the shoulders of the Japanese Military, and Civilian leadership of the 30"s and 40's. The US would NEVER have dropped those bombs unless it felt there was no other way. America is always made out to be the bad guy because of those bombs. Nobody talks about the horrible atrocities committed by Japan during that time period. From what I understand it is not really talked about in the Japanese school system. Those bombs took a lot of lives, but they saved even more. The War ended for both Japan, and America. Don't misunderstand. I LOVE JAPAN! I love the Japanese people, and never get tired of reading and learning about them, but the truth is the truth. Japan started the war. America ended it. It is amazing that we have become such good friends. May that peace between us last forever.

Of the candidate sites, why was Nagasaki, the center of the Christian faith in Japan, chosen as the other A-bomb site?
Did they want to show that it doesn't matter if they believe in the same God?
