The road across the Nullarbor certainly was unsealed back then. Three days after we got married in 1971, my wife and I drove across it in an XT Falcon, at night! The unsealed section was much further north than the road is now. Knocked on the door of a motel in Ceduna at 1am. The things you do at 20 years old. That was the first of our 26 crossings.
Cham I have a complain ! Your rice cooking outcome looks pretty awful 😢 A billion Chinese would agree with me hahaha Ok, we don’t eat rice with our meals, makes me fat…. Nice vid with your mates. Cheers
Hi, I see you have a lightbar mounted under the front of your Yakima tray with using Yakima recessed mounting bracket. What brand and model of light bar is that? Is that a 30"?
Hi Cam. Love your videos. Great work. How do you find the MEGA swag compared to the Big Boy, particularly in relation to getting in and out of it but also ability to sit in onto it when on the stretcher? Does the smaller opening cause issues? Tossing up between the Big Boy and the MEGA....Cheers.
Thanks mate! On a stretcher, both are equally easy/comfortable to get in and out of. Can only sit upright in the Mega. Both pack up to similar size. Mega takes 30 seconds more to setup/pack down with the extra middle hoop. Mega has the shelf inside it. After having both, I’d recommend the Mega! Absolutely love mine!
Hi Cam, just watching your latest video, great job, just a question, we also own a LC300, we are heading off in a couple of months for an extended trip around Oz, just a question re 4WD capabilities, are they easy to navigate thru, we really haven't had a chance to test anything out, our last vehicle was a 100 series which was fantastic cheers Les & Denise
Hi Cam and Tiff, have watched all your vid's and deliberations over which vehicle to buy that ticks all the boxes for a family in a caravan. As much as I like watching your boys trips one can't but ask how long are you as a family man, prepared to be "one of the boys"? And what does Tiff say knowing half the new rigg is hers?
Hey mate, we read this together and not quite we fully understand the question. But we’re fully supportive of each other’s interests/hobbies and the vehicle was always going to be my daily driver. Which means it’s for shopping, picking up kids from school, boys trips and towing the van on family trips.
Great vid mate, one of the better ones, very informative, greats editing and music. Haha however I’ll will always question eating food from a white man and tribal/flame tattoos
Great drone footage Cam. I’m interested in the size of your second battery to run your hot plate and fridge in your new setup. Also did you go lithium?
Hey mate, it’s all covered in this video 🙂 ULTIMATE 300 SERIES LAND CRUISER TOURER | REAR FITOUT | Drawer System + HUGE lithium battery build ruclips.net/video/r1oapJnfp4o/видео.html
Always love the adventure Cam, but I have to say the edit from 6:33 to 7:53 bloody marvelous, that song was great, visually expressive and the final panning shot across the vehicles top piloting !! keep it up bud, leaps and bounds
Hi from Cairns & thanks for the great video Cam. We have a GX very similar to yours (15k kms so far). Interested to see how the clean side of the airbox looks in future. I am seriously considering an aftermarket airbox using OEM filter.
Hi can remember watching you show the usb magnetic set 4 lights wanted to order some did you have a code I can use and where can I get them from thanks
@@WildTouring Thanks for the reply. I hope you can mention it in a future vid. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the ARB, vs Yakuma, vs anything else you considered. ;)
Hey mate, yeah that’s what I’m running in the 300, and their 24v 3000w unit In my caravan. They are good units and well priced. My discount code ‘wild’ knocks 10% off them too 👍🏼
Ahh I see. I thought you had the ARB and dumped it for the Yakima. I have the wind deflector and a Stedi light bar and the wind noise is pretty bad on my base rack anything above 80kmh
It's only a matter of time before this vehicle has a chop lined up and a new canopy with a tinny and kegerator.😊 you should have asked for a two for one deal when you bought it, because, I can see, this is not going to be a family car for long🤭. Don't worry, Cam, your secret is safe with me😂
We stayed at bilbunya dunes a few years back for 2 nights. First day we rolled in, threw the rods in and caught salmon after salmon. Was simply awesome. No one around, perfect weather and those incredible sand dunes. Was a once in a lifetime experience.
I crossed the Nullarbor with my dad in a HT Kingswood when it was a pretty rough dirt road. The track into Pt Culver with the conveyor belt looks in better nick than the highway was back then. Great episode. One to add to the list. Pleased the damage didn't live up to the concerns I had from the thumbnail. You blokes travel deluxe! :)
I love to see people with strong regional UK accents (I’m guessing Liverpool) really enjoying the Aussie bush. Standing in shorts and thongs cooking up a storm. It is such a huge polar opposite from his life back home. Well done, mate and welcome to Australia.
I am a pretty frequent crossing the Nullabor and a frequent flyer to WA from the East I always love looking out the window at the magnificent coastline from both road and air ❤🎉
Too right! Really want to go back and do the tracks East of Pt Culver. Along the top of the Baxter cliffs to Twilight Bay! Funny how every trip you come back from, you’ve somehow added two more to the list 🤣
This is the Wild Touring we love. Absolutely love your road trip choice and really enjoying your music - who do you use if you don’t mind sharing. Pretty impressed with your swag, cool features. Cheers Marg
Fantastic episode and the backdrop is spectacular. Those baseplate must be like paper if you didn't feel or hear that one rip. Lucky no one ran over the go pro Looking forward to the Bilbunya dunes
AOS under seat storage bags, I’ve got a video ready to go with a run down on storage, what I’ve packed, water etc. but I’ve had to delay it a couple of weeks because there’s a new product in it that we’re going to sell that’s not quite ready 🤐

Indeed - the current road was not the unsealed road
@@roberthayseniorcounselcomm6523 Driving from the west, that old unsealed road actually joined the existing road where the Nullarbor Roadhouse is.
And 50 years later people are driving electric vehicles along there. Wild to think about! 🤯
Awesome Cam! Love it!
One thing I love about Cam is he spends a lot of money on his vehicles but he's not afraid to use them for what they are designed for. on ya mate

Carbon Fibre Bash Plates didn't work. Wow
we did the telegraph track along the top of baxter cliffs, slow twisty drive least do it once,
I would watch this content all day, the boys trips are next level, looks great mate

Sorry not Perth. Broome
Hey Cam just catching up on this episode one question is what was the closest fuel stop? Did you guys take extra fuel ?
Beautiful part of our country.
Stunning stretch of coast hey!
Nah no one carried extra fuel, last fuel stop was Balladonia Road House.
Love the video Cam. A quick question though. How much fuel did you burn during this trip?
It’ll be in the last episode of this trip series 😁

Hey mate, nah I don’t have a code. The brand is hardkorr.
My parents drove the unsealed Eyre HWY in 1964 in a ford station wagon and towing a caravan.
Have a look at KAON bash plates. Their factory is in Brissie. To me they are the best.
Yeah love the Kaon gear!
What a great spot! Im excited for this trip series.

You've swapped out the Baserack for the Yakima I see. Hows the wind noise compare?? I've got the ARB baserack on my GX 300 and also not impressed.

Amazing stuff mate, I’m inspired to do this in 2024.
been there found a massive survey bouy on the beach near baxter cliffs. was an awsome trip would do it again.
I reckon you need a bigger tub of chilli!
🤣 that run was full a few weeks ago, I go through a fair bit hahaha

The squeeze bottle reminds me of Glysophate (Roundup) . I think they need to make the squeeze bottles more distinctive.

Cheers mate! Yeah didn’t take much to rip them apart!
Nice drone shots! As a videographer I fully appreciate how difficult they are to get especially when multitasking.
Cheers John, really appreciate that mate! Can be hard getting a few seconds of smooth footage when you’re bouncing around 🤣
