  • Today we replace the timing chain and oil pump chain on this 2010 volvo v50. This timing procedure is very similar to many Ford and Volvo engines!

How many miles you need too replace it ? I drive a volvo with this angine . Great job by the way !

It is not a service item so there is no mileage requirement - this car was an lpg conversion which makes the engine run lean which puts more stress on the timing chain which is why I replace it because the sprockets were worn and the chain was rattling
      Otherwise you just leave them

What is the length of the crank locking pin bolt that goes behind the drive shaft ?

Good question, I’m not sure to be honest - I wouldn’t recommend making your own, I actually have a video on my channel doing an engine tear down on a Ford engine where someone tried to make their own locking pin and in the end destroyed the engine

You can find them in almost all Ford and Volvo petrol engine locking kits 👍🏽 I prefer to find them by engine code
