Pietro's original costume was green. The blue suit is canon, but not the original one. (Green, because he started out as a villain.)

Agatha All Along based on the theme to the Munsters. The composers really knocked it out of the park with the period appropriate tributes throughout this series. Amazing work.

0:39 I didn’t watch a full episode of Malcolm in the Middle growing up, but I still remember the crazy intro. Then of course Malcolm would break the fourth wall. By the way, Frankie Muniz is now a race car driver.

I had forgotten about Malcolm in the Middle! I used to like that show. That's really cool that they used her outfit from the comics for her Halloween costume.
Darcy and Woo need their own Disney Plus show, where they solve MCU style mysteries. Like a light-hearted X-Files.

"Why doesn't Vision just free everyone?" The notion that he may not be able to notwithstanding, I explain it to myself this way: in WWII, Allied forces would find the concentration camps. In order to best assist the survivors of the camps, it was oftentimes necessary to keep them inside the camp while they received care. Supervised food intake, medical exams, and the like were all much easier to keep track of and administer if the survivors weren't simply turned loose. Refeeding syndrome can be fatal. Similarly, we don't know the full condition of the people inside Wanda's hex, so it's best to assume that they will need treatment of some kind. Until a way out is found and treatment is available, the safest place for them is back inside the torturous kabuki theater.
That's a really good point. Vision is such a phenomenal character and always does the right thing. Your explanation makes so much sense as to why he would go slowly and not further traumatize them.
As Wanda has said, she does not know how this all started. She has been figuring it out like the rest of us, she had no conscious control over any of it at the beginning and has only just begun to figure out how to gain control a little bit at a time. She was telling the truth to both Vision and Pietro when she talked tot hem about what is going on she told Vision she was not controlling all the people because she does not realize she is, she has only consciously done the the things you saw her do. Basically the further into the show the better both she , and the audience, understand what is going on and the more she figures out how to control it.

14:55 Dr Strange was in this. He was supposed to be the one creating the adverts to try to communicate with Wander. But, due to the pandemic, they had to cut his scenes out
No Feige didn't want a white male to save her and show her how it's done. They wanted it all about Wanda so they rewrote the ending of this, and Multiverse of Madness.
Before they recently realized this mindset is not at all profitable, and are now refocused on making actually entertaining movies, instead of movies that push agendas. Straight from Iger's mouth.

Apparently a lot of people saw the reveal coming, but still the execution was so perfectly insane that I was still smiling like an hour or two afterwards.
That is (one of the reasons) why I no longer watch certain YT channels while watching these shows. I don't want someone throwing out a million ideas and possibly spoiling upcoming plot twists. I like surprises.

What a fun journey! Each week the fans would sit around and theorize for next week. Such a joy :)
It's not just that she's grieving. It's that she has *sacrificed* more than she should have had to. She's not just another person on earth. She's a person who has lost her parents to Tony Stark, her brother trying to save a city, and the love of her life trying to save half the universe's population. She's gone above and beyond. If the universe can't repay her by truly returning her loved ones, perhaps she could instead be forgiven an accidental hostage situation.
I just got the sense that this show was showing Wanda going down a villain path.

@reactswithjax well........that's a long story. And I currently disagree on that impression that she is villainous even with the entire context of the show. I cannot wait for a certain upcoming MCU miniseries show to be reacted to, for reasons...actually, a few! And then some...
It's complicated and I tend toward empathy toward her in her current state as is. And I dunno how much to say and what content has been seen or not. But I think we get what her immediate state is and why and the timing of it all... and the framing of that afterward. It isn't that simple, I think. @reactswithjax

As for your question about if it was actually Halloween outside of the town... that's a good question, lol. Cause every comedy show generally has a Halloween episode that airs around that time, but this show aired in Jan/Feb. Or maybe Wanda's just a huge fan of Halloween episodes, I remember always watching the Roseanne ones way back when I was a kid, it was basically a yearly tradition, lol.
Well the pandemic did screw up release schedules so it could have been a Halloween episode that would have released on Halloween

Hayward is really the first kind of villain that we've seen in the MCU that just hates super powered people, it's a reoccurring theme in a lot of X-Men stories
Not really. We had Zemo. He despises super soldiers.

Well, I'm not sure he straight up hates enhanced individuals but he certainly acts like he has some issues with them
In all 3 cases, the sentiment is somewhat understandable-- they only view them as tools (when under their control) or threats (when they act on their own accord, which is sometimes true)
Pietro's superhero name is Quicksilver. This actor is Quicksilver from the XMen universe.

Lots of confusion to sort through here...
The '90's sitcom being parodied is "Malcolm in the Middle" complete with fourth-wall breaks!
It's the Halloween episode ripped straight from the comics and with everyone decked out in their comic-accurate costumes! The fortune teller and the luchador!
BIG QUESTION: What's the deal with Pietro? Wrong memories, no accent, neatly edges Vision out of the plot to isolate Wanda, gives Billy the heebie-jeebies, references hell, makes faces behind Wanda's back and appears as a corpse! He's gleefully mischievous like Fox Pietro but is he Pietro at all? The devil comes with a friendly face. Has MEPHISTO already arrived?
Vision goes off script to patrol Westview which suits Pietro but unnerves Wanda.
Hayward and Rambeau trade blistering insults until he benches the Scooby crew who go rogue!
Props to anyone who caught the "Kick-Ass" shout-out!
Taylor-Johnson and Peters were BOTH in it!
Impish Pietro runs the neighborhood watch ragged with his speedy antics while Herb checks with Wanda for his next cue. Herb is a proven resident so this means EVERYBODY is aware of who calls the shots.
The further Vision wanders from Wanda's sphere of influence, the less animated the townsfolk become! Just beyond her awareness, they're trapped in mini-loops and, at the periphery, they're frozen in place all while being TEARFULLY aware! Meat puppet-ville! Is this conservation of power what she meant by not being in TOTAL control or are her abilities being amplified by another?
Was the YoMagic yogurt commercial a subtle nudge to unleash one's power or die? Or is it a metaphor for wallowing in a self-delusional bubble? Or is she sucking the residents dry?
Tommy manifests his speedster powers!
BIG QUESTION: Why was Agnes leaving town? Her witch costume none-too-subtly indicates to comic readers she is who everyone suspected she was but hasn't she been stage-managing Wanda? With the arrival of Pietro/Mephisto she should be getting her hooks in deep unless she's not in league with the hidden adversary. Did she trigger all this but tried to keep it from getting worse only to flee when "Pietro" arrived? She seemed genuinely alarmed! Or was it all an act to get Vision to confront the truth about himself? What is her agenda?
Vision has no recollection of the Avengers!
Monica's aerospace contact has devised a way into the Hex but her labs indicate that she is being altered at the molecular level by her transits through the barrier. She vows to not abandon Wanda no matter the cost. SPECTRUM is probably two more transits away and REED RICHARDS probably awaits at the rendezvous!
Darcy uncovers a Hayward secret called CATARACT! It must have something to do with Vision because he's dedicating his resources to tracking him and not Wanda! Was Hayward violating Vision's living will and reverse-engineering him?
When did dipsy Darcy become an expert hacker? In between working on her astrophysics doctoral thesis? Again, she is the most PREPOSTEROUS thing on this show!
Pietro gets Wanda to open up about the Hex and the ethics involved. The children have all been asleep!
Vision pushes through the barrier. It clings to him keeping him ambulatory but his contact with the exterior prompts his disintegration!
Darcy rushes in to help but gets shackled to a Humvee!
Billy manifests his powers and can sense Vision in trouble! The twins alert Wanda.
Pietro's off-hand remark that Vision can't die twice earns him a Hex bolt that sends him flying into the haystacks. No one stands between Wanda and her corpse groom!
The Witch extends the barrier to shield Vision enveloping Darcy, SWORD, the town limits and a used car dealership filling the lot with vintage Lincolns, transforming the base into a circus and the agents into clowns! Hayward, Woo and Rambeau barely escape.
Hold on Wanda's glowing eyes warning the viewer of her frightening potential...
Where is the beekeeper? Who is the missing witness? Did they identify Dottie yet? Is "Modern Family" the 21st-century sitcom on tap next?
Jimmy Woo runs a team in Marvel Comics called the "Agents of Atlas". They're a quirky lot comprised of a jungle adventurer cursed with the form of a talking gorilla, the Greco-Roman goddess Venus, an Atlantean relative of Namor, an Eternal-reared human from Uranus and an intelligent robot killing machine! They have wacky adventures!
EPISODE 7:
A NEW HERO is born and AGNES is finally revealed!
The sitcom being parodied this week is "Modern Family" complete with character interviews that put the audience into the role of documentarian.
The title sequence is straight out of "The Office".
A SWORD team loyal to Rambeau delivers the specially-designed vehicle to penetrate the Hex but the AEROSPACE ENGINEER remains a mystery.
Vision unlocks Darcy's mind and they make their getaway from the circus punching out the SWORD strongman.
Astrophysicist. Hacker. Welterweight, too? She remains PREPOSTEROUS!
The commercial is a classic parody of anti-depressant pharmaceuticals that come with a laundry list of gruesome side effects. This one is called NEXUS. Is Wanda a nexus of multiple realities?
The Marvel Comics Nexus is guarded by the Man-Thing in the Everglades!
Agnes is babysitting the boys with Senor Scratchy when Wiccan expresses relief that her home is quiet. He can't hear the minds of the trapped Westview residents there but Agnes' mind is also quiet. Does this mean she has the ability to shield her thoughts from telepaths? Is the rabbit her transformed son from the comics, NICHOLAS SCRATCH?
Monica's tank isn't quite up to snuff and gets rewritten into a pick-up whereupon she powers through the barrier and gets rewritten herself into an energy being. SPECTRUM has arrived and the electromagnetic spectrum is hers to see and become!
Darcy lays out the truth for Vision as they head to town but they're continually blocked by obstacles. Does Wanda want to delay the confrontation or is Agnes trying to isolate Wanda? I love how Vision walks out of the "Modern Family" interview!
Agnes directs Wanda to the basement where she discovers a vine-choked, eldritch temple and the DARKHOLD!
Agnes reveals herself as AGATHA HARKNESS, puts a spell on Wanda and reveals in a montage set to a "MUNSTERS"-like theme how she's been pulling Wanda's strings all along! She even killed Sparky! Lol.
END-CREDIT SCENE: Undeterred by Agnes, Monica tries to get into the house by using the basement door. She detects the odd energy signature emanating from within but she gets stopped by Pietro! Is he MCU Pietro or Fox Pietro? Is he Agnes' servant or master? Is he Agnes' son, Nicholas Scratch, in human form?
Is Agnes the BIG BAD or is she the agent of Mephisto or Nightmare aka "Ralph"? If so, is she a willing or unwilling participant?
Where is the beekeeper? Who is the missing witness? Was Dottie identified as a resident? Is Westview actually NEW SALEM from the comics? Are we done with sitcoms?
THE DARKHOLD is an ancient tome of magic and an item of incalculable power in the Marvel Universe sought covetously by magic-users and akin to the Lovecraftian Necronomicon. It has previously appeared on "Agents of SHIELD".

Hancock knows his stuff and the showrunners obviously did their homework!

Wanda knows the mechanics of a sitcom. the people not moving or barely moving are behaving how an extra would on a TV show ... or more accurately, like and NPC in a video game. It's not a glitch so much as intentional background.
Love these reactions Jax! When I watched this for the first time - every week when a new episode was released I always wondered what sitcom they would be inspired by, a part of me wished Wanda slid into screen like Kramer from Seinfeld 😆💘

Monica Rambo's DNA has been changed on an atomic level. Wonda, in the MCU, her powers come from one of the infinity stones. The infinity stones control and warp reality. So if a human comes into contact with radiation from one of the stones, it will change them. So when Monica kept passing through the barrier, she was exposed to the radiation of an infinity stone through Wonda.
Wanda's powers are cosmic, not magical. Magical powers come through the use of spells and magical objects. Wonda's powers are inherent. There are no limits to her powers. But Agetha is magical.
"Agatha all along" has got to be my all time favourite reveal... It was a twist that was guessed at by plenty of fans of the comics, so it wasn't so much that it was shocking to find out that Agatha was Agnes, it's more that I love the reveal for the *way* they did it with the sitcom intro-style musical number and for how perfectly Kathryn Hahn played it.
The musical number was genius!

The people didn't move near the border because it is far from their home and hence the powers there are much weak that they are stuck in a loop instead of acting the character.

Many fans want there to be other heroes there involved or helping. However that attitude even in the comics is sort of bad for a creative story. We just want a story of what we are working with. Dr Strange would take away from that story. In fact there were plans to add Dr Strange but that was taken away because of travel issues middle of the pandemic and the thought that this is Wanda and Vision's story not any other character. Just keep the creativity of that in mind. In the comics you see other characters pop in or out but for solo series that are not crossovers but it is rare and short. I think we as fans want everything all the time but just live with one story and one creative idea.
I cant say anything coz whilst I assume you have finished the show, and are in the process of editing, I don't want to give anything away. But yeah IMO this is one of the most creative, and intriguing shows made by the MCU.... Omg I have so much to say but....... You know what? I'll let rip next episodes :) Awesome reaction Jax! I cant wait to see ur next episodes :)
Great reactions as always Jax. I feel some of the writing has been great for this series, but the current Disney/Marvel trend is to be forgiving to the villain. Yes, we can empathise with Wanda's experiences, but the writers are trying to get us to forgive what she has done to this town and shows the mindset of some of their writing. And let's not sugarcoat the fact that future appearances outside of this series, she is the villain. Poor Lamby must be confused.

The book near the glowing red is the Dark Hold. The Dark Hold is featured heavily in Marvel Agents of Shield in later seasons.

@@reactswithjax its specifically season 4 that has the darkhold. Agents of shield is pretty good, but its odd. at the time of creation it was basically running side by side with the events of the mcu movies but generally not directly affecting it. later on they completely branch off a lot and arent even doing things tied to the mcu events at which point people question wheteher or not its cannon. but now....everything is basically cannon lol. anyways, I just want to say, one of the best parts of agents of shield is when they have to deal with the events of winter soldier. think about it lol.

It's so creative! The MCU is getting more experimental with their story lines in phase 4 and I'm here for it.
@@reactswithjax they did, but then a few of their future projects fall off in quality and creativity.
There was initially a plan to have Doctor Strange make a cameo during the depression commercial in episode 7, but I don't think they ever filmed it (if I remember right, the creators wanted to keep the story focused on Wanda)

Oh I've been waiting for you to get to the Agatha revelation and your reaction did not disappoint! This show is pure genius. Especially how the first few episodes are so bizarre that it's hard to want to keep watching. Then Episode 4 really gets your attention. And then you stay intrigued enough to get here and out of left field you are completely hooked!

I love how you try to understand the concept of this series. I love how you think that Hayward is actually trying to help bc the first time I saw that man in the series, I immediately thought that he will be, if not the main villain, one of the villains in the show. Also, their costumes in Episode 6 for the Halloween episode are the comic-accurate costumes in which Elizabeth Olsen needed to fight for them to wear it.
Also, your reaction to the "Agatha" reveal is actually the same as mine. Of course, there were theories that time that she will be the main villain, still it's hard to actually not love Agnes' character, especially the Miss Kathryn played the role really well. In the last two episodes, I think you should get ready to be emotional :''((

Oh I cannot wait for you to see Episode 8 cause it's going to totally blow this whole thing wide open!!! Couple of things:

This next one is just a theory but you keep on mentioning Strange and although he apparently was a part of deleted scenes, I think storyline wise the way the show has gone along is that no one had a clue that Westview existed. Remember in Episode 2 the cops believe it doesn't exist. No one knew about the disappearance until Jimmy Woo (what a guy) couldn't find his missing person and stumbled on to it. It was only then that Hayward and company started looking into it.
Again these are awesome! WandaVision is one of my all time favorite MCU projects and Episode 8, your next episode, is one of my absolute favorites can't wait!

I've been waiting with bated breath to see your reaction to the Agnes/Agatha twist. You didn't disappoint! :) FYI, Agatha was heroic in the comics. She was first introduced in Fantastic Four as the nanny Reed and Sue Richards hire to care for their son. Later, she popped up in Avengers to tutor Wanda, who is a mutant like the X-Men in the comics, in witchcraft. She was eventually murdered by her own evil son. I stopped following contemporary comics around 1986 so I have no idea what they've done with her since.

The episodes to my understanding , yall let me know if it changed are keeping up to date with the stuff on the outside of the her. Last time I checked but the series only has what 9 or 8 episodes most series are now a days so it's not gonna be like every single day moments. In the comic books. Wanda and her Brother are X-Men. And Magnetos kids. The MCU and Fox studios came to an agreement. Wanda stays in the MCU And her brother is in the XMen movies. That’s the actor who plays him. This is his cameo in the MCU
All the other avengers are off in their own movies occurring about the same time frame. Also Sokovia accords are technically still in effect so they can't act without authorization.

The whole rover scene didn't make much sense to me either. They know her hex rewrites anything that doesn't fit the time period and setting she has it in.

Regarding why they thought the space rover would work, there was a scene in episode 5 where they were discussing ways of getting through the hex unharmed, and they theorised that a vehicle made with certain alloys may be able to get through without being changed. But it was literally a 30 second conversation so it's no surprise that it didn't really stick in the mind!

I don’t think it’s so much that Monica’s been *in* the Hex (thousands of people have, right?), as that she keeps passing through the *barrier* of the Hex (which seems to be really powered up).
Have you heard of the Marvel Netflix shows? They've recently been made canon to the mcu. Daredevil in particular is an amazing show, regarded as one of the best superhero projects. Would make for a good reaction series, it's a slightly different tone from the rest of the mcu
Yes, the border is radiation. In Episode 4, we learned it's specifically CMBR (Cosmic Microwave Backround Radiation) like the radiation allegedly left over from the big bang.
The people on the edge of town who were barely moving are kind of like the stuff that you see in the background of first player action video games like Grand Theft Auto. You'll see repetitive stuff going on in the background that doesn't require a whole lot of data, it's just to fill in the space in the background and make it seem alive. Basically, the farther outside of the center, the less power one to has to use to keep things under her control. I felt the exact same way about the controversy about Hayward being the good guy up to this point and Wanda being the villain. For some reason, this was a controversial point of view.

Original plans for the show had Doctor Strange getting involved at the end but the pandemic did not allow things to work out the way that Disney and Marvel wanted it to so they had to do some extensive rewrites

@@reactswithjax most longtime comic book fans aren't really surprised by the MCU's changes (at least not any more, after 15 + years) although many are disappointed by them.
But discussions about modern-day Disney's "agendas" aside, there were reasons for the MCU making changes. The first was movie rights. Back in 2008 Marvel Studios didn't have movie rights to some of the most important and famous Marvel characters. Spider-Man was a Sony property. The Fantastic Four (Marvel's first superhero team) and X-Men (Marvel's most popular superhero team from the late 1970s onward) were both FOX properties. So those characters and their background lore was unavailable when the big MCU experiment began. And trying to tell origin stories and establish an interconnected cinematic universe without all the pieces was a challenge back in Phase 1.
The second reason was a business decision to have the MCU cater primarily to casual moviegoers instead of hardcore comic book fans. Marvel Studios wanted MCU movies to appeal to a wide audience, which meant people without 10, 20 or 30+ years of comic book reading background. So they simplified things, compressing years of published stories and eliminating some complicated backstories that require prior knowledge of the comics. The MCU couldn't legally use any mutant characters or even the word mutant because that's part of X-Men lore. They also couldn't mention adamantium (a nearly indestructible metal tougher than vibranium) because that went along with Wolverine. So they made changes, upgrading vibranium to the strongest metal known to exist on earth, and changing Captain America's shield to vibranium. In the comics, Cap's shield metal is a unique alloy called proto-adamantium which contains vibranium but is much stronger. All in all, they did a nice job of getting around what they couldn't use, although some changes complicate storytelling later on.
The third reason was simply modernization. Most of the MCU's iconic superheores and their origin stories were written in the early 1960s, when Marvel Comics started as a publisher. Captain America goes back to the 1940s when the company was known as Timely comics. But many of those stories were simply quite dated. But in 2000, Marvel released a new series of comic books set in an alternate reality called the Ultimate universe. It basically rebooted most characters, shifting their origin stories to the modern era. Captain America still originated in WW2 and was still frozen for decades (for roughly 50 years instead of 20) but everyone else was making their first appearance in the modern-day timeframe. So when the MCU started, Marvel Studios based lots of things upon those Ultimate universe comics with newer, updated takes.
Thor was changed due to fears of negative reaction from religious conservatives. Marvel/Disney didn't want the newborn MCU to wind up targted for boycotts like the Harry Potter franchise was for promoting witchcraft. So initially Marvel Studios officially didn't acknowledge any magic or gods in the MCU. In the first two Thor movies, Asgardians were depicted not as literal gods, but a powerful race of aliens with super-advanced technology and 5000-year lifespans who had visited Earth long ago, and wound up being worshipped as gods. Their "magic" was just science far beyond humanity's ability to understand, which Thor explained to Jane. Likewise Wanda was introduced as a telekinetic and telepath, no mention of magic. Wanda didn't have her original comic book hex powers- although that change was probably for cinematic reasons.
Once the MCU got rolling and Disney higher-ups felt comfortable they wouldn't face financial ruin from religious protests, they went ahead and allowed magic into the MCU, starting with Dr Strange. And with Thor Ragnarok, they fully embraced Asgardians being the actual gods of Norse mythology, as opposed to just ancient aliens who'd inspired that mythology. And Wanda was free to continue her journey down the mystical/magical road, as seen here in WandaVision.
This takes places before the second Tom Holland movie. I mention it because of the lines in that movie.
