Enjoyed this very much 💕. I’m so glad Beleg made your list! Sorry about not submitting a question. Life interfered. I will definitely send you one next time!
Glad you enjoyed, and no need to apologise! I did just put up a new post, over on Patreon, regarding tomorrow night's livestream if you have anything we could focus on. We'll be talking about DRAGONS!
About 3½ feet tall, middle-aged, sedentary country gentleman, no combat training or experience, yet takes one a swarm of poisonous giant spiders and wins. That deserves at least an honorable mention (even if the most powerful artifact in Middle Earth was used).
Hi Dan 😁 You brought up an interesting point by comparing the fall of Gondolin to the fall of Troy. Achilles would not fit imho, he was on the aggressors' side (ask the women of Troy). Aenead however is a prince from Troy who as it is told led a rescue party out of the mayhem. The Romans like to tell that Aenead and his people were the among the first citizens of Rome.
You mean Aeneas, I think, about whom Virgil's epic the Aeneid is written. That's totally fair, and I do know that of course, but I really just wanted to lead up to the lame joke about Glorfindel's hair. 😂
@@VoiceofGeekdom Damn I failed on the spelling 😂 Well admittedly it was a joke I needed to hear. Btw the Book of Lost Tales version is full of slaughter and sort of boasting about killing named enemies. That is a situation Achilles would thrive in. Hm and it may seem like a random association, the last prince of Troy dies falling off the city's tower, and Turgon dies when the tower or his city falls upon him. Great that you mentioned the Iliad in this stream, I will ponder on it more
Nice stream. Specially since Glorfindel and Feanor made top of the lists. Glorfindel because how it felt when he came into the story when reading Lord of the rings in my teens. Feanor for being the greatest genius in the whole mytology🙂
@@VoiceofGeekdom I think they argued on his skills, more then his actions. I would likely put his half brother on top of the list for his legendary fight with Morgoth. Me and my friend wore addicted to playing MERP (Middle Earth Role Playing) all the way back in the 80s, and already back then we discussed Morgoth and Fingolfin. Feanor belong more on the list of the greatest craftsmen.
@@geir8849 That's cool! You might be interested to know that I'm planning on playing the new second edition "One Ring" TTRPG from Free League, on the channel, at some point (potentially not until early July, since I'm going away for a couple of weeks in June).
did Hurin get on the list? I want to watch if my favorite man is discussed (I mean I'll probably watch anyway because I love the channel but that's a bonus)
Where is BEORN? Are you kidding me? The one feat alone, turning the tide of a battle of five armies that gets to be known by that very name, is enough.

That's fair. That's the same logic that I used to include Éowyn, too.
Excellent stream. I'm glad you're back doing some live streams ! Looking forward to seeing more from @Mellonheads
Thanks, I was pleased to do another one! It has been a long while!

Thanks! Fëanor is a highly controversial pick, I think -- but still a very defensible one, from a 'certain point of view'!

Yeah I think he was mentioned in the chat. Could've, maybe should've, been an honourable mention.
