I was wondering what year and model car your aem intake was for? Thought it would be worth asking since you seem to be pretty good about replying to comments. I've got a 92 coupe with an h22a I swapped in. I've tried a couple intakes as suggested by people in old threads on cb7tuner but they wont clear my abs module..
yes they are amazing machines. i wish i had more room to buy more cb7's my house would look like a god damn junkyard if that were the case and I am sure my wife wouldn't approve.
Hey Aaron What parts did you need exactly to hook up the cruise control? And also Im looking at Rosko racing what did you need for the iac parts? Im close to pulling the trigger on this motor but Ive yet to see a complete write up on it
Very cool. What motor mounts did you use for the install and who did the wiring harness upgrade? What. ECU are you running? Werw both cars oroginally equipped with A.C., Cruise Control and Manual transmissions? Just picked up a. 92 Euro 2 door Accord Automatic with extremely low km.
Hi sorry my dad can’t reply right now so I’ll reply for him he used 2 hasport and 2 stock his friend did the three wire addition to the wiring harness he’s running a p72 with s300 Hondata Ecu yes they were equipped with all three I hope you get what you’re working towards
Hello Aaron my coupe spun a rod bearing looking at your setups is inspiring me to perform this swap. Were did you source the H22a Euro from and if buying a motor with transmission what should I look out for?
Patrick Blanco well I would like to start off by saying you should only buy from hmotorsonline.com they have IMO the best quality engines and transmissions and Steve and his crew are always there to help whenever you have a question about a swap. That being said if you want to go euro r like us you are gonna need a obd1 dizzy and injectors if you want to use a p13. We had these laying around from previous obd1 h22's. I personally would pick up an obd1 h22 with a t2t4 tranny and p13ecu from HMO. It should set you back about 23-25. Hundred dollars. You will never regret it and you'd be super proud and confident knowing you have this motor in your cb7. Pretty much the only thing you would need is an h22 header and wire up the 3 wires for VTEC. And you'll be ready to start redlining your 6500rpm tach to 7200rpms. The best of luck to you and don't be afraid to ask questions. Ps join cb7tuner if you haven't already.
Patrick Blanco I also have another recommendation, to save a few hundred $ HMO have a blue top h23 that puts out the same hp and tq as the obd1&2 h22 but it's a obd2 engine and you would need a jumper harness for your cb7 wiring harness...so the blue top h23 w/ t2t4 tranny with the h23 Ecu could be another option for you.
Beautiful car I miss my 93 coupe, I still have the key. If I still had it it would have an h22 and 5 speed LSD, some people though I already had the swap, because it had a full exhaust lol
Hey sorry my dad can’t reply. He told me to reply what car is the engine and transmission going into? If it’s a 90 to 2002 Honda Accord they should fit with no problem
Jevon Harris sure I can give it a shot. I always want to make videos when I actually doing stuff but 99% of the time I am never prepared to actually film it. Like a few weeks ago I had to replace both front wheel bearings and tie rod ends but life happens.
treydot_ thank you, yes as a matter of fact it does but you have to screw it on with self tapping or shorter drywall screws, it’s not a perfect fit more like a “I got it to fit” fit but it definitely looks good
my 92 lx have currently 265kms. a little knocking noise around 1.5k to 2k rm appeared after I let some guy do all the belts, water pump and the valve adjustment. got to car for 500bucks with everything original and a not so bad common wheel well rust on the rear. I might just end up swapping a k20 engine while I try to fix up the original block as I want it to be an n/a and restore it(no stance or turbos). hope I can find a way to somehow winter proof the vehicle or just make it as a summer car because I live in Canada land. ✌
NeATaNDtURdy the knocking really isn't a big deal, just sounds like the guy that adjusted the valves made them a little looser than a little tighter which is common. It's a skill adjusting valves properly. If you drop a k20 in it won't that require new motor mount locations and a huge wire harness relocation situation to work with? I've never heard of a k series going in a cb7 but I would love it see some of they've been done
it's not a fix decision to do a swap. just been doing some little reaserch here and there about some honda engines but I've not seen other than the million mile accord of it is durable or worth rebuilding the stock engine
Yes it does. Did you have the same issue? I thought about having a new fitting added but I don't have the tools or the know-how to do inverted flares on brake lines.
you are going to need any usdm or jdm h22a driver side motor mount bracket, I am just using the hasport driver mount and rear mount but the stock cb7 rear mount will work just fine. I was just tired of mine breaking all the time. as for the ecu, I have a P72 with hondata s300 but you can use a plethora of ecu's for this including p13,p28 and even the stock jdm ecu that comes with the euro r but only if you have the correct jumper harness to go with it. Thank you for viewing our cars and your comment. if you need any assistance don't be hesitant to ask.
+Aaron Johnson NP. I have a H22A with T2T4 LSD trans. Same IM as yours from RoskoRacing's but with a ported 68mm inlet, S2 68mm TB, Pro2 cams, full bolt ons, tuned on Crome and made 204whp/157wtq. Just got a 3" exhaust with a Vibrant StreetPower muffler and need to go back for a tune. Will be tuned on E85 as well. Hoping to see close to 215+whp. Last tuned was with a 2.5" exhaust and WS2 which was a bottle neck for my cams. Now my setup responds alot better with the custom 3" exhaust. But, at the same time, I.just want to get all my parts for a K24 swap.
oh yeah that should really help out with your hp numbers. I like my sleeper look so I don't plan on replacing my stock cb7 exhaust and I know my end numbers will take a hit but in December I plan on getting a dyno tune done to my car. I am hoping to get around 200hp to the wheel but I will have to see. fingers crossed LOL
A nice private label header will really help you get there. The most restrictive area is the header and exhaust diameter. If you free those up, that H can really breathe and thank you. But hopefully you can break 200whp.
well that will be a video in itself, so in about 6 months expect it lol. my car is heavy too, I can pull on a g35 all day long as my friend owns one. my car with me in it weighs about 3420lbs. but like I said I drive the car to work most of the time so i'm not too concerned with getting crazy numbers out of it, I just try to get the most life out of it while keeping it peppy at the same time.
Hi Aaron, im currently doing a Euro R h2b swap in a honda del sol. It cranks but doesnt seem to want to start, by any chance do you guys have any advice for me. I can pm or comment more info about the swap if needed. PS nice and clean rides you guys have.
Aaron Johnson .... good afternoon.. watch your video several times, but now I just swap a euro r in my 96 accord n having idling problems... would gladly take some advice from you.... please and thank you
Hey there I have a 1991 Honda Accord ex I was wondering if you knew of any good automatic swaps or if one of these engines could be a automatic or be made into one
Chad Brad yes, my friend....buddy who has the second car in this video had a 91 cb7 coupe that he gave to his brother that he did an H22 A/T swap in but from what I remember was he needed the TCM or TCU(transmission control module/unit) in order to make it shift at 7200rpm, besides that you could shift manually using the sport mode I think but yes if you were able to get a TCM then if would work flawlessly.
Thanks for the information homie . My 91 has been in my family for years and I'm turning it into a summer car I've have had a lot of body work and paint done this thing is like a brand new car threw and threw . Even got a custom system in the trunk the only things that's left is the engine .
Interested in this swap for a 93 vtec Prelude. Have a bunch of questions on your set up. I read your responses here. Why not run the euro spec injectors?
Chris Brooker the reason I didn’t run the saturated injectors is because I would have had to remove to resistor box and re-wire the injector connectors. If it isn’t broke why fix it? I already had the OBD1 injectors. I wanted to keep it simple and besides, you’re able to get more power from peak and hold injectors anyway. With a proper tune at 13.5:1 AFR the car still gets 27mpg. To be honest, you would never even notice a difference. To each their own I suppose.
Chris Brooker the intake going to require some mods, but rosko racing has everything for that and the fuel rail doesn’t require any mods unless you go the OBD2 route. But rosko racing has all those parts for that too.
Thanks. I looked over that sight. So you did not enlarge the intake to use the OBD1 JDM injectors? I am confused. Is that modification only needed if you just install the intake on a USDM motor? So if I use the Euro R injectors I would need to delete the resistor box and run new wires from the ECU? I understand I might not make as much power as you said before but I am starting from scratch meaning I would also have to buy the JDM H22 OBD1 injectors as well or could I use mine that came with the USDM H22 from the Prelude? I should say my goal here is not to make the most power but to have a reliable fun car to drive. The major drawback to me is highway cruising in the Prelude. Taching over 35K at 60 does not make for a fun drive.
allmazda 626 if you use your obd1 h22 injectors you won’t need anything special, if you don’t I still don’t think you need anything special unless you run an aem fuel rail or something. You need to use your obd1 distributor too. Getting rid of the resistor box isn’t very difficult but it’s just something extra you have to do.
Vito Yusuf probably the f22 with 130hp would be your best bet for the money but if you can a k24 with 160hp would probably give you a few mpg better, but the cost and time would set you back a whole lotta dollars
jay92889 yes stock ac compressors, mine had a not so common HadSys compressor that they don’t even make anymore but it took a crap and now it has a Denso from an LX
Aaron Johnson Did you notice any drop in cooling performance? I have a 90 right now and the a/c is rubbish. I've had multiple cbs and only one had great cooling, but that one crapped out because I think the last owner charged it with r134 over the r12 which also may have explained the good performance. The 92 and specifically the 93 had some changes to the a/c system and lines and I'm wondering if those were performance related. Mine gets down to about 55 at best before it cycles off the compressor.
thai xiong no my buddy made a harness for his and is gonna make one for me but as of right now I'm not using the map on the throttle body just using the stock accord one
sorry for many questions, but do you know if the euro r uses all same seals and gasket of h224a? or they different? for example the valve cover gasket, rear main seal and other seal gasket are the same as h22a4 or different?
wilkin trejo the only part that you will have a hard time getting because it is the only part that isn't the same is the intake manifold gasket for an actual euro r h22...besides that all the seal are the same besides the camshaft from a usdm and jdm or an auto or manual usdm h22. So yes all of that you mentioned will work.
Hi Aaron, I have a 98 Honda Accord 4Door LX I would like to do a swap for the engine, upgrade the suspension, change the brakes, rims, and tires obviously and basically just make it a great little daily driver. I would love to talk with you about how to get started doing this such as the budget for the project, tools needed, and anything else you can tell me. Hit me back and maybe we can skype or I can call you somehow. Thanks in advance and great videos man!
tim marcinek first thing you have to do is have another car to get you to and from work, any vacations planned? Set those aside, no time for anything like that...friends that know their shit is a huge plus. Pretty much first thing is to get the engine and transmission and try your best to do a seal replacement on anything that has potential leaks...front and real main seals and cam seals. Harbor freight is great for special tools like a cherry picker for getting the old and new engines in....you need the euro r ecu too, it's possible you'll need a f22/h22 oil pan because the euro r oil pan was too big for the down pipe...but for sure if you need any advice I could talk to you on the phone or whatever...it would help if you lived in az too
Hello, does the euro r has a bracket on the ac compressor? Im trying to hook it up but the bolts are too thick and the compressor holes are too small do you have any idea or recomendations?
H Roberts if you’re just doing a motor swap then there should already be some sort of vacuum line running over there that would essentially just tee off from the intake manifold running everything else like your brake booster and such.
Byron Escobar I’m not sure I understand your question, you swapped your engine with a h22 type s? And now it won’t crank? If it does crank check your starter, and make sure the engine turns.
No they used to be stock but I upgraded to hasport mounts, they fit in the stock location. The rear motor mount is also hasport and I have an ex cb7 so I had to get an lx read bracket in order to get the hasport mount to fit. But the h22 should fit, if the driver side is a little bit higher than it should be its because you're using the prelude mount and not the accord mount.
OK cool. My driver side Cb7 mount didn't line up with the bracket on the motor. I see has port makes mounts for this type of swap. Man I really appreciate the help man. I wanted to keep engine obd2 but very inspired by your 7 to go obd1. #AllBoutThem7's
+Shederrickd Hunter any h22 usdm or jdm mounting bracket will work for your driver side, if you use the f22 bracket it will sit too high(still works but looks weird and your hood doesn't want to close) but pretty much the only thing you have to do is wire in the 3 wires for vtec if you keep it obd1 but if you want to run obd2 you have to run a jumper harness and add a few things to your vehicle. let me know if you need any help bro.
Eric Henriquez the rosko racing stuff adds functionality to the cb7 so we can use the IACV on the accord and it has the throttle bracket needed to has a working throttle and the EGR block off plates to delete the EGR entirely. It's these things that help with warm ups and starting your car and not having a rough idle. If you do a euro r swap in a cb7 I would highly recommend these items. I think I paid like 100$ for everything.
Ahhh, now with this kit do u get any cel's(Check engine lights)? I've been thinking off doing the egr delete for awhile, but i hate having lights on my dashboard
Eric Henriquez if you do the delete you should get your ecu chipped and socketed to delete the MIL(malfunction indicator light) and to prevent and any DTC(diagnostic trouble codes) I have a hondata s300 running off a p72 ecu and my friend has a chipped and socketed p13 ecu that has the egr deleted.
No we are using obd1 ecu's to run, the first uses p72 s300 hondata and the other p13. They have deleted egr valves and use obd1 distributor, and injectors from h22a jdm engines.
Aaron Johnson oh ok, and one last question, i have a new clutch and flywheel i bought it for my base transmission cuz i thought i was going to keep it do you think the clutch and flywheel from usdm h22a4 will fit this eur r t2w4 transmission?
hello, i want to do this swap on a prelude 1998, but i want to keep it OBDII what do i need to switch from my old engine to the h22 euro r? any of you guys know what parts do i need to swtich to keep it OBDII?
wilkin trejo your car is already obd2 and the euro r is obd2 so all you need is the engine and transmission to do the swap, your p13 ecu will work to run this engine but you could get the ecu for the euro r swap and buy a jumper to run the ecu in your car.
Aaron Johnson so i dont need to take anything off from my h22a4 engine to put to the euro r? like oil pump or egr valve or fuel rain injectors? dont need to swap anything from my old engine? and can it run samething with the stock ecu or its better with the euro r ecu?
Yes you would just use everything that comes with the euro r and it would work just perfectly but the ecu you may need to have them remove and immobilzer that comes with your car, I haven't messed with that stuff yet but I know that there is an immobilzer you must deal with somehow
Like I said, I haven't messed with that fun stuff yet but you could just google search Honda/Acura immobilzer bypass and find exactly what you're looking for
Greg Griffin thank you very much, the swap itself only took a day or so(thanks ro ro) but everything else took a whole lot of time piecing every little thing together...I need to get a replacement cigarette light plug(plastic housing) and get the ac recharged since I replaced ac line that was leaking and it'll be way good to go....it's my favorite car to drive as long as the ac works haha
Hey. I have a 90 that Ive restored stock and just bought a 93 coupe to build. Been looking to do an H22 swap and I'd like to do the Euro R with the T2W4 trans. Setting up the computer is my queation? Any guidance on that would be appreciated. What other modifications did you have to make? Did it run correctly with just the initial mods? Do you have any links that would be useful in doing this swap? Thanks.
unfortunately there aren't any links for this particular swap, its pretty much the same as installing a OBD2 H22 in the cb7 chassis but we made it easy by using OBD1 distributor and injectors so its not using the saturated injectors like it used to and its running very well on peak and hold injectors but just FYI you could use a P13 ecu to start and run the Euro R without any issues, then after if you want to get it tuned you could use a p28 or p72 with your choice of hardware to piggyback off of it i.e. neptune, chrome, hondata etc. good luck to you. you're gonna love it.
Thanks a lot for the response. I have found some links, like one page on CB7tunner.com. What ECU are you running? Also, does the Euro R have IAB's? If not I can just go with the p28. Did you delete the knock sensor? What injectors did you use? I Read you can use the H22 injectors by bypassing resistor box. Curious if you've seen this swap on CB7tunner www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=197288 Hey, how does your friend like those TruHart struts? Was wondering if they were any good? ...Be great if you could let me know what differences there may be between how this swap was done and yours. Sorry to ask so much. I'm in the research phase so I'm digging into everything before I start. Im in no rush so that gives alot of time to get it right before I start to make purchases,(well besides the 93 coupe I bought to do this with, lol). Thanks again, any time you can take to answer is greatly appriciated
i have a p72 with hondata s300, no IAB's, only prelude and integras have them. yeah i just used my obd1 wiring harness on the cb7, i use obd1peak and hold h22a jdm 345cc injectors, you don't need to touch the resistor box if you use obd1 h22a injectors, i think he likes the struts a lot i will ask him next time i talk to him. Our cars were done very identical, he did his first and then i did mine second(he did mine) I have a few different things like clutch and tranny is different but other than that they are pretty much identical.
Just some additional information on this swap, some of which is on CB7.com. You will want to get an aftermarket traction bar (I'd recommend ESP or Innovative) to clear most aftermarket headers that fit the H22. If you don't then you will need to notch the crossbar that the radius arms are connected to in order to clear. You can order the mounts that innovative or ESP sell but if you are using an H-series transmission you will need to either relocate the posts that are on the transmission or buy a transmission mount made for the CB7 chassis with an H-series transmission. I'm not sure if ESP makes them but I know Innovative does as I accidentally order one when doing my swap. Do not trash the (F22) old engine until you have the swap in and ready to start. You have to reuse several parts from the F-series in order for things to run correctly (such as the coolant sensor on the upper coolant hose doesn't have a spot to screw into on the H-series water neck so you would reuse the F-series one, it bolts right on). I also ended up reusing a bracket mount so the H-series bracket could connect properly and I could mount the D/S engine mount.
For engine management I went with the P28 W/ Hondata S300, just make sure you order it with VTEC capability as there is a non-VTEC chip aswell. You will need to follow the guide on CB7 in order to run the wire for the VTEC solenoid but it is fairly simply to do. The rest of the details you need can be found on CB7.com.
Kevin Norman so the head will have PDE on it and the block serial numbers should be low and the casting will have the year made on it, it should say 00 or 01 because those are the only 2 years the Accord euro r with an h22 were made, pretty easy to spot a fake unless they went way out of their way to get the correct parts and I’m sure no one would do that. The euro r doesn’t cost a whole lot more than a traditional h22
Hello, im doing this swap but im using my usdm harness but ive seen that the euro r doesnt come with intake air bypass and theres a plug there how do i do there i got stock there
There are no IAB’s on the Euro R IM which has nothing to do with my wiring harness on my 93 Honda Accord which is going to be different than your OBD2 prelude. I am not going to be able to help you with your specific questions about plugs on your car since they are obd1 and obd2. Please keep in mind that our cars have different connectors because they are OBD1 and OBD2.
More than likely you’re going to need an ecu with some sort of piggyback on it like neptune or chrome or hondata so you can delete any malfunction indicator lights that are going to appear on your car.
Aaron Johnson and one last question, do you know if the timing belt, balancer timing belt and serpentine belts of h22a euro r are the same as the h22a4 usdm?
wilkin trejo yes all the timing components are interchangeable. As for the transmission, me personally, I would upgrade it if you do not have LSD...the tranny that comes with the euro r is the T2W4 which has the shortest gear ratio out of all the H series transmissions...if you can't get that then the T2T4 trans would be the 2nd best thing
Devil HimSelf my friends and I have ordered tens of thousands of dollars from Steve @ hmotorsonline since 2004 and I had one issue with a sensor and Steve sent me a replacement sensor no questions asked
Aaron Johnson okay cool, have all those engines been healthy? just checking whats out there because i have a jdm importer a few miles away who i bought my first swap from but long story short dealing with them hasn't been so great on other purchases. ive seen mixed opinions on h motors thats why i asked, thanks for responding.
Devil HimSelf I'm pretty anal about my car if you can't tell so yeah they compression test every engine and you can call and ask him what the compression is on each cylinder for the engine you're purchasing. They will take care of you even though you have to pay shipping it is well worth it.
Aaron Johnson yea i can tell you pay attention to detail. your car and engine look very neat. for engine buying im very picky i have to be all up in the warehouse and see whats going on haha maybe wrong on my part. but anyways thanks for taking time out to respond. I'll keep researching.
Is it running with the euro harness or the cars original. I've recently swapped this motor into a prelude and now trying to figure out the ecu side of things
nophobia123 definitely rocking the stock cb7 obd1 wiring harness. It has the 3 wires for VTEC wired into the ecu wiring harness and its rocking the obd1 h22 injectors and distributor. So it's a obd1 stock harness and i have never had any issues with it.
Errol Morris my buddy got that transmission from a guy at a reasonable price, it was fully rebuilt by syncrotech and has upgraded gears and it has the same final gear as a t2w4 which is what I have. It's a good transmission to have with a tuned ecu. What transmission do you like?
I think I need to get a LSD tranny from for my H22. I can definitely feel the wheels spinning in the corners when I take it on the back roads. Do you have any suggestion that could eliminate that?
Errol Morris my suggestion to you would be to get the camber straight and to get some good tires on your drives. Other than that you really shouldn't have issues with anything else.
Terry Carver all you need to do it order the motor and ecu and maybe upgrade your transmission...other than that I think everything is pretty straight forward because it’s obd2 to obd2...the only thing I can think of is maybe a jumper harness for the ecu
Terry Carver yes it may require a f22a oil pan from the 90-93 accord and this motor is oil available in jdm vehicles, this particular motor was from a 2000 Honda Accord euro r. Hmotorsonline is where I have gotten all my motors from.
Terry Carver yes I believe if you drop a 90-93 Accord oil pan on the h22 euro r it will fix the clearance issue on that year Accord, I have the same accord style as you too, I can check the clearance between the 2 next time I change the oil in both.
Tihtihtihtihshhhhh has camber titititititititiishhhhhhhh has a euro r tititititititititititshhhhhh 😂😏🤣🤣🤣
He has a blow off valve installed
I knew this would be top comment. Lol!
A fellow Cb7 owner, I have a 91 lx sedan that’s still stock besides the borla exhaust, I love you car
Euro r must pull like crazy. I'm saving for a euro r atm. Want to pair it with a qsd h2b and gsr trans.
ch chi chi chi chu chu
reverseperistalsis you guys hear that blow off valve?
I was wondering what year and model car your aem intake was for? Thought it would be worth asking since you seem to be pretty good about replying to comments. I've got a 92 coupe with an h22a I swapped in. I've tried a couple intakes as suggested by people in old threads on cb7tuner but they wont clear my abs module..
Yea buddy clean, I got a 92 cb7. I love her! Shes in the middle of paint.. and Alot of other goodies..
yes they are amazing machines. i wish i had more room to buy more cb7's my house would look like a god damn junkyard if that were the case and I am sure my wife wouldn't approve.
clean swaps! ive got a 95 ex sedan w sir f20b/2t4t trans w bunch of goodies on it. also working on a k24/k20head for my 91 crx si.
Hey Aaron
What parts did you need exactly to hook up the cruise control?
And also Im looking at Rosko racing what did you need for the iac parts?
Im close to pulling the trigger on this motor but Ive yet to see a complete write up on it
Awesome cars !! Love how you guys kept it as stock as possible...a\c ...power steering..awesome awesome awesome
we were going for functionality over performance, but got both in the end. super fun cars to drive
This vid inspired my cb7 euro r build
Very cool. What motor mounts did you use for the install and who did the wiring harness upgrade? What. ECU are you running? Werw both cars oroginally equipped with A.C., Cruise Control and Manual transmissions? Just picked up a. 92 Euro 2 door Accord Automatic with extremely low km.
Hi sorry my dad can’t reply right now so I’ll reply for him he used 2 hasport and 2 stock his friend did the three wire addition to the wiring harness he’s running a p72 with s300 Hondata Ecu yes they were equipped with all three I hope you get what you’re working towards
man i can't wait to start buying parts to start my h22 swap clean builds
Thanks bro, it definitely takes time, and my advice is try to do it right without cutting any corners before you drop it in. You'll be glad you did.
What transmission mount did you go with to fit
nice I have a96 ex coupe with a complete euro r swap. very nice
Edgar Madriz I should be getting a dyno tune within the next few months, it should be interesting how it turns out.
Aaron Johnson post your results. What are you running again
Billy Notturno that's like the only thing my car is lacking, a nice mandrel bent exhaust, but it would alter my complete stock sleeper cb7 look
You funny dude , working on a 95 CD with euro r FRONT JDM CLIP yes even headlights and fenders and come with the Euro r engine .. #hseriesgang
I got a lsd transmission with the h22 it came with the mid shaft what axles can I used they told me the accord wouldn’t fit any idea
Hey sorry my dad can’t reply. He told me to reply what car is the engine and transmission going into? If it’s a 90 to 2002 Honda Accord they should fit with no problem
Can you make a video or send more info on the break up grade thanks in advance !!!
Jevon Harris sure I can give it a shot. I always want to make videos when I actually doing stuff but 99% of the time I am never prepared to actually film it. Like a few weeks ago I had to replace both front wheel bearings and tie rod ends but life happens.
Good video man, hey do you know if a front bumper Lip from an Acura vigor fits my 1992 accord coupe? Thanks!
treydot_ thank you, yes as a matter of fact it does but you have to screw it on with self tapping or shorter drywall screws, it’s not a perfect fit more like a “I got it to fit” fit but it definitely looks good
love the swap!
NeATaNDtURdy thank you, we enjoy them too...they are fun cars. I love driving it, it's awesome.
my 92 lx have currently 265kms. a little knocking noise around 1.5k to 2k rm appeared after I let some guy do all the belts, water pump and the valve adjustment. got to car for 500bucks with everything original and a not so bad common wheel well rust on the rear.
I've never heard of a k series going in a cb7 but I would love it see some of they've been done
it's not a fix decision to do a swap. just been doing some little reaserch here and there about some honda engines but I've not seen other than the million mile accord of it is durable or worth rebuilding the stock engine
were both accords originally EX models? I have a 97 DX I'm trying to fit a 1in brake master cylinder but one of the brake line fittings does not fit.
Christopher Sanchez sometimes you need to cut the brake line and add an additional fitting. Did your car have a 15/16 master cylinder to begin with?
Yes it does. Did you have the same issue? I thought about having a new fitting added but I don't have the tools or the know-how to do inverted flares on brake lines.
Christopher Sanchez it’s best to have a reputable shop do it. I think the ex was plumbed the right way for some odd reason.
Hello. I bought the transmission with the engine together but i used my stock harness and ecu, do you think i will need the dyno tuned up ?
no
What motor mounts do I need for this conversion ? And what ecu/harness are you using ? I have the euro r engine the cb7 sedan the euro r ecu
you are going to need any usdm or jdm h22a driver side motor mount bracket, I am just using the hasport driver mount and rear mount but the stock cb7 rear mount will work just fine.
Sleeper and clean AF!
Thank you brother
I just brought an h22a back to life. Im siked
Yeahs. I’m trying to start a club here we’re I’m at
And trying too get my buddy too buy one.
Where are you located?
Hi Aaron, im currently doing a Euro R h2b swap in a honda del sol. It cranks but doesnt seem to want to start, by any chance do you guys have any advice for me. I can pm or comment more info about the swap if needed. PS nice and clean rides you guys have.
Seng Yang thank you, email me your number and we can talk aaronphx420@gmail.com
Chad Brad well good luck with the swap brother you won't be disappointed
Thanks again once it's all said and done I'll make a video to show you thanks 10x over
Chad Brad did you ask about a brake upgrade and delete the comment? Let me know...
Good stuff bro
OK. Did it require modification to the rail or intake? Or would I just use the rail from my stock USDM H22?
Question and probably dumb but you say the amenities to make it work. Is that from obdII to obdI
yes but more for the ego delete as well
So if I use my stock one can I use the h22 bracket or haves to be the same as stock from my f22
Yes
hey Aaron, what's the best fuel-efficient engine swap for a 1993 A/T cb7? would it be the F20B?
thx mate
Vito Yusuf probably the f22 with 130hp would be your best bet for the money but if you can a k24 with 160hp would probably give you a few mpg better, but the cost and time would set you back a whole lotta dollars
Aaron Johnson
cheers mate, i appreciate ur help by replying
Clean swaps, I had a cb9 wagon with a red top and t2w4 at one point! question, are you using the stock ac compressors?
jay92889 yes stock ac compressors, mine had a not so common HadSys compressor that they don’t even make anymore but it took a crap and now it has a Denso from an LX
Mine gets down to about 55 at best before it cycles off the compressor.
jay92889 with the new denso compressor it works fantastic I like in Phoenix and have no issues staying cool
I got questions about your map sensor.
did you re-wire the accord map sensor?
thai xiong no my buddy made a harness for his and is gonna make one for me but as of right now I'm not using the map on the throttle body just using the stock accord one
+Aaron Johnson oh I see. if it's possible can you ask him to do a diy. I'm having a hard time figuring it out
thai xiong I will definitely tell him we should do that
sorry for many questions, but do you know if the euro r uses all same seals and gasket of h224a? or they different? for example the valve cover gasket, rear main seal and other seal gasket are the same as h22a4 or different?
wilkin trejo the only part that you will have a hard time getting because it is the only part that isn't the same is the intake manifold gasket for an actual euro r h22...besides that all the seal are the same besides the camshaft from a usdm and jdm or an auto or manual usdm h22. So yes all of that you mentioned will work.
Aaron Johnson do you have any idea where i can find the euro r intake manifold gasket?
wilkin trejo do you need one?
Yes you can only buy them in the UK, Japan, or Australia.
Where are you getting your euro r engine from?
Hi Aaron,
I have a 98 Honda Accord 4Door LX I would like to do a swap for the engine, upgrade the suspension, change the brakes, rims, and tires obviously and basically just make it a great little daily driver.
Im trying to hook it up but the bolts are too thick and the compressor holes are too small do you have any idea or recomendations?
wilkin trejo use the bracket from the previous motor you were using, it will fit then. If it doesn’t then you got something screwed wrong.
Aaron Johnson Really i can take off the bracket from the h22a4? I didnt know i was using the euro r bracket thats why the bolts didnt fit
wilkin trejo it’s like 3 fasteners
Aaron Johnson so i have to take it off the h22a4 block and put it on the h22a euro r block right?
wilkin trejo yes
What did you do about the brake line to add the 1" master cylinder?
wendell Samuel do you have a cb7?
wendell Samuel you have to swap the booster and master cylinder and reflare the lines
Were you able to keep cruise control?
H Roberts yes of course, you just utilize the stock cruise control actuator and it should work perfect
@@aaronphx420 what about the vacuum line?
H Roberts if you’re just doing a motor swap then there should already be some sort of vacuum line running over there that would essentially just tee off from the intake manifold running everything else like your brake booster and such.
You use the h22 power steering pump
orlando morales you can but it has a different fitting than the stock accord...no matter what you need to get the line braised
I have the stock accord pump
I have 1997 prelude I swap to 22h type r but not crank what a can do
Byron Escobar I’m not sure I understand your question, you swapped your engine with a h22 type s? And now it won’t crank? If it does crank check your starter, and make sure the engine turns.
Hey how's it going. Ran into minor problem with driver side mount. Are yours custom
How the heck did you get the prelude cluster in there? Lol that’s cool
Just curious whats that roscoe racing kit include or better yet whats the purpose what does it do?
Eric Henriquez if you do the delete you should get your ecu chipped and socketed to delete the MIL(malfunction indicator light) and to prevent and any DTC(diagnostic trouble codes) I have a hondata s300 running off a p72 ecu and my friend has a chipped and socketed p13 ecu that has the egr deleted.
sick sleepers. Are they still obd2?
No we are using obd1 ecu's to run, the first uses p72 s300 hondata and the other p13. They have deleted egr valves and use obd1 distributor, and injectors from h22a jdm engines.
What kind of axles fit on this transmission? Do you think it will fit base prelude or type sh axles or which ones?
wilkin trejo what kind of axles do you have?
Aaron Johnson i have the prelude base axles
Aaron Johnson do you think it will fit the t2w4 lsd transmission or what kind of axles should i use?
Your axles will fit any f or h series transmission
Aaron Johnson is it hard to do that? How do i do immobilezer the ecu?
Like I said, I haven't messed with that fun stuff yet but you could just google search Honda/Acura immobilzer bypass and find exactly what you're looking for
awesome work bro, how long did it take for the build?
Greg Griffin thank you very much, the swap itself only took a day or so(thanks ro ro) but everything else took a whole lot of time piecing every little thing together...I need to get a replacement cigarette light plug(plastic housing) and get the ac recharged since I replaced ac line that was leaking and it'll be way good to go....it's my favorite car to drive as long as the ac works haha
Lol yep mine too, I have a 92 4door lx
Curious if you've seen this swap on CB7tunner www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=197288
Hey, how does your friend like those TruHart struts?
Looking to buy an H22 Euro R, how do I know its the Euro R when im buying it?
Kevin Norman so the head will have PDE on it and the block serial numbers should be low and the casting will have the year made on it, it should say 00 or 01 because those are the only 2 years the Accord euro r with an h22 were made, pretty easy to spot a fake unless they went way out of their way to get the correct parts and I’m sure no one would do that. The euro r doesn’t cost a whole lot more than a traditional h22
can you explain how you got the bb6 cluster fit i h22a black top in a cb7 and the 130 speedo doesn't make sense anymore lol
There is a great step by step post on this install on cb7tuner.com I'll see if I can find it
Ok great thanks alot for the help and please make more vids of the cars
www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=201488&highlight=Bb6+cluster
Do you still comment on your vid Aaron? Do you and buddy still have these?
Buttered Toast yes we do, sorry been busy with work and family.
Hello, im doing this swap but im using my usdm harness but ive seen that the euro r doesnt come with intake air bypass and theres a plug there how do i do there i got stock there
i do not understand the question, what is an intake air bypass?
Aaron Johnson its a little black Box that goes under the intake manifold and is also called by butterflies
Aaron Johnson Yeah thanks ill check what wil i need to do
Brother need help how did you connect the map sensOr please help me out
SmokinMayhem1 just use the obd1 map sensor, it’s easier.
I wish I could give you more thumbs ups.
Hello, do you know if the h227 accord type-r of UK intake manifold gasket will fit this h22 euro r manifold? Is it the same gasket?
yes i believe they are the same engines but that one is the ukdm and the h22a is jdm
Aaron Johnson im about to do this swap but im keeping my prelude base tranny and im wondering if this engine will fit on the transmission
yes if it is a 92 to 01 prelude it will match and marry perfectly.
About how much does a swap cost
D Ciple just for the engine and transmission for a euro r h22 with t2w4 trans around $2900 delivered
dude whats your honest opinion on h motors online. ?
The choo choo noises make it extremely hard to watch this video with the sound on.
Hahahha
What ECU DID U USE??
Martin Alvarez the old girl is running a P72 (Integra GSR) with Hondata S300
What ECU running this car
nophobia123 P72 w/Hondata S300
Is it running with the euro harness or the cars original. I've recently swapped this motor into a prelude and now trying to figure out the ecu side of things
nophobia123 definitely rocking the stock cb7 obd1 wiring harness. It has the 3 wires for VTEC wired into the ecu wiring harness and its rocking the obd1 h22 injectors and distributor. So it's a obd1 stock harness and i have never had any issues with it.
f$#&_-ing awesome dude !!!!
Thanks brother
chiichiiichiichuuuu
cool
ch ch ch ah
why did you do a h23 transmission?
Errol Morris my buddy got that transmission from a guy at a reasonable price, it was fully rebuilt by syncrotech and has upgraded gears and it has the same final gear as a t2w4 which is what I have. It's a good transmission to have with a tuned ecu. What transmission do you like?
Does your trailer have LSD?
Errol Morris yes of course they both do, the m2s4 has a quaife lsd and the t2w4 has the factory lsd
I would be very interested in picking your brain on this. Can you send me your contact info? I just purchased my H22A.
Jay Johnson email me your number...aaronphx420@gmail.com
I want to do that to my 02 accord using the euro type r engine. Anyway you can hook me up with a list to what I need to do or a link ?
Terry Carver all you need to do it order the motor and ecu and maybe upgrade your transmission...other than that I think everything is pretty straight forward because it’s obd2 to obd2...the only thing I can think of is maybe a jumper harness for the ecu
I thought I heard something about oil pan and a few other things . I think I failed to mention getting it through JDM
Terry Carver yes it may require a f22a oil pan from the 90-93 accord and this motor is oil available in jdm vehicles, this particular motor was from a 2000 Honda Accord euro r. Hmotorsonline is where I have gotten all my motors from.
I have an 02 accord. .
Terry Carver yes I believe if you drop a 90-93 Accord oil pan on the h22 euro r it will fix the clearance issue on that year Accord, I have the same accord style as you too, I can check the clearance between the 2 next time I change the oil in both.
Chew chew chew.
TShhh tshhh tshhh
this is why people hate Hondas
William Thompson this is not the reason.....shitty civics are the reason.
What brackets did you used for the power steering and a.c. ?
Anonymous Garage stock CB7 brackets, the old CB7 ps and ac was used.
