Awesome recipe! I can't wait to try this out when I can go to a proper grocery store and buy tofu finally after the community quarantine. Our grocery store here doesn't have tofu so I have to go farther but I can't. But still, I'm so happy I found this recipe! Salamat 💚

Thank you universe for simple and uncomplicated vegan recipes. Love your channel ❤️
Hi! I've heard back from some who air-fried these at 350F for 9-10 minutes on each side and turned out well! :)
Smooooooth background music!
I'm trying vegetarianism and this looks like a great substitute for one of my favorite dishes, tonkatsu. In fact it looks even better. Thank you!
Thank you too!!
My real life cooking mama! This was delicious!
So glad you enjoyed it! :) thank you!
Lovely video, Jeeca. Excellent recipe. May I add a twist? Try adding about 110 grammes of finely cut enoki to your batter, then please let me know what you think.
finally found you😭💎

Welcome!! ❤️
♥️♥️♥️
🤤
I wonder where do you usually shop for your supplies like your curry mix and which brand is good?
I use S&B curry! It's by far the best I've tried. A box makes around 3-4 servings so I store leftover curry cubes in the freezer. I get them from local Japanese/Asian groceries but they're also avaialble online :) these are the cubes - amzn.to/2qUzwaF
you think the texture would be good if we use the freeze/thaw the tofu trick? thanks for the recipe!!
yes, it'd be really meaty! just be sure to press your tofu well after thawing from the freezer ◡̈
hii!! love your recipes..just a question..But can the tofu be alternated w cottage cheese?
Yes i think it should work fine, too! :)
Do you think I can use my air fryer for this recipe? If so, what temperature would you recommend?
Hi, yes you can. I don't own an air fryer but I've had a few people share with me that they've air-fried these. You can try cooking these at 350F for 8 to 10 minutes on each side. You can brush them with some oil too before putting them on ◡̈
@@TheFoodieTakesFlight Thank you :) I cannot wait to try this recipe.
Have you tried freezing the tofu prior to pressing? Changes the structure and texture of the tofu.
Yes I have! This is an old video and I've done other recipes using pre-frozen tofu ◡̈ give its a 'meatier' texture!
is there a reason why you fried the whole tofu instead of cutting it into strips first and then frying the individual strips? Just curious if that makes it better in some way, thanks
It's simply because it's katsu aesthetic. Even Chicken Katsu use same method.
How do you make the side dish please?
Hi! the tofu katsu cury recipe is here: www.thefoodietakesflight.com/post/tofu-katsu-curry :)
Would this work with less oil?
Hi! Yes you can actually bake them with just a little oil but of course they won't turn as golden brown and crisp as when fried :)
@@TheFoodieTakesFlight thanks!gonna try it for dinner tonight
gimme it now for free!!!!!!!!!!!! GESARA!!!!!!!!!!
freeze them thaw tofu
faster and easier.
Could you air fry the tofu?
I’m sure you could
Hi! I don't have an air-fryer but I've tried baking these and turned out really good too. I just brush them with some oil. Though they don't turn out as golden brown compared to frying, but still very crispy :)
I tried this, but swapped in pork for the tofu. Turned out unbelievably good. All my guests were like, "We can't believe this is tofu! How did you do this? See? You can be a vegan and still enjoy food!" Hahaha
In my place we dont have tofu can i use paneer(cottage cheese)or chicken
Oh so just plain tofu then
tofu pressing like that will do absolutley nothing for your tofu btw
yes it does. it removes most of the water from the tofu, so it'll be able to absorb the batter and give it a better taste.
@@anagha5489 yes but not like that haha
